Little tubs of low fat yoghurt are good.

I'll often have a handful or two of cashews and or saltanas.

Or a piece of fruit - apple, pear etc.

Low fat, museli bars are good - just be careful of the sugar too.

I know how you feel...

But I just don't buy any of the junk anymore - if i buy it, i KNOW i will eat it. And more often than not, in just one sitting too

I stock up now on rice crackers, carrots, low fat dip. Yum! Also, I make sure I have a drink before I have a snack...sometimes thats filling enough that I don't feel like I need to have that snack.

Yoghurt is also fantastic, there are some really yummy low fat flavours.

I'm finding that its really hard to eat junk nowadays too, cos Andrew always wants what I'm having - so I have to make sure I'm eating more healthily around him :)

I adore aspargus as a snack! I buy a few fresh bunches each week and then steam some up when I am feeling a little peckish. If I feel like sugar I have some dried apricots, they are really sweet.

I do love a dip too, so I make up a guacamole and a hommus dip each week. I have them with carrot sticks, rice or rye crackers. Like this, they are already for me to munch on when I don't feel like preparing anything.

Like Nicole, I don't buy junk, I would just eat it all.

Howdy there,
Good on you for starting down the road to success! Good luck and I'm sure you will be just fine! Remember, if you have a boo boo, just keep on trucking! Don't let it sprial! Okay, enough of the motiviation, down to business!

I find rice cakes are the way to go. You can buy them flavoured now and they are delicious! I have sweet chilli and also sun dried tomato! Mmmm! Other snacks I have handy are yoghurts, fruits, and slim shakes. And I agree with everyone else, if it's in the house you will eat it so don't buy junk food! Everytime I get cholcoate it's gone in a day :( I have no self control! Lol!

I usually make a rice cake sandwich with honey on it, or an apple, or yoghurt. (I buy Jalna yoghurt because it has no added sugar - and it tastes much better - and you can buy low fat ones)

Corn thins are a good snack too - they're like rice cakes except they taste a bit like popcorn.

Bananas are good because they are low GI and keep you going for longer.

Sometimes I also make some healthy muffins to snack on occasionally too. (I make them without sugar or butter - I can give you the recipe if you want). They have sultanas in them which makes them nice and sweet!
