Hi all,

I had my bub at Gold Coast hospital and I have to say it was overall a good experience. My only problems were a few of the night staff on the Maternity ward were a little grumpy and only 1 midwife on the labour ward was Grumpy. I had two great midwifes and a training midwife support me through labor ( along with my fantastic husband!!!) and the Doctors that came in were also fantastic! Would go back there for my next bub for sure!

Would love to hear other peoples experiences with GC Hosp?!?!

Ha Ha Ha:D

I myself had a really horrible nurse on the night shift and so did my friends!
It must be the same person making everyone's night miserable.

I couldn't wait to get out, they were just too busy at the time so I didn't get any support.
The Midwives in delivery were great.

Hi!!
I had a GREAT experience at Southport Hosp and couldn't really fault them. Yes, I too had a grumpy midwife but she just told me how it was, knew what she was doing and I just did as I was told (except I'd breathe how I wanted to breathe when she'd leave the room). It so happened that I thought I was in true labour and after 12 hrs of watching the clock/timing contractions we went into the delivery ward only to be examined, told off (you don't know what pain is yet!) and sent home with my tail between my legs. We ended up having the same midwife the next night!! At least I was already 5cm dilated when we arrived so I hadn't imagined that I was in labour!! I loved that our room was so private and dark, and that we could watch the tv inbetween contractions (Big Brother Uplate!) plus have the use of bath and shower. The staff on the ward were FANTASTIC and all very happy, even the kitchen staff! And the food was good too! So no complaints from me.
