Short of yanking the tooth out with pliers, what can I do to numb the pain?
I've taken pandaol but this is killer pain :crying:

Not sure of its safeness during pregnancy, but I find Bonjela to be brilliant when I have those horrible toothaches. I found it numbed it long enough for me to be able to fall asleep, which was the best :)

there is some stuff you can buy from the chemist called seda lotion. it has a type of anesthetic in it which is great to numb pain as i use it when my wisdom teeth play up. peroxide is pretty good to. hope that helps.

A couple of things I used before giving in and getting painkillers was Curash Oral gel -like bonjela but tastes 100times better! lol And clove bud oil.. that tastes like cr@p, but it works.. worked the best. The bottle doesn't say anything about who not to give it to, can ask at the healthstore (where typically sold)... some chemists sell it though.
Salt water mouth washes were good - little bit of salt and about a cup of water.
Actually, if you can handle it, get a soft kids toothbrush.. sometimes brushing helps, but if you use a teething gel with it to get right in there, it's fantastic .... or just me.
Teething toys - so not just for kids. But worth checking if your pain lessens a little with pressure (some do), I had one that stopped hurting when I pushed it from the side.
And ice pack... as some here know I fell asleep on an ice pack is was that damn good
I've done a bit of experiementing in the tooth pain eradication area :o

thanks - i'll pick up some curash stuff later today.
After getting through the night, I walked up to the chemist for the pills I took a few months ago for dental pain and he wouldn't sell them as they weren't safe at this stage :hair: . He would only give me panadol.
A bottle of whiskey and a pair of pliers sounds so appealing right now.

oh ck:hugs:I know how horrible dental pain is in pregnancy, I had my teeth flare up with Sophia and then again with this bubba, both times, I lived off panadol and panadiene untill the dentist could get me in for surgery, with Sophia I had 6 fillings done and 3 extractions and with this bubba 2 wisdom teeth extractions....Have you seen a dentist?? do you know whats causing the pain?? why dont you go and see a dentist, might be as simple as a filling???
I was in the second trimester both times but surely you could take panadiene..why dont you ring birth suites at the hosp and talk to a midwife thats What I did to double check it was safe...basically she told me when I was 26 weeks panadiene was completly safe as bubs was formed

Oh its silly but I can't go to the dentist because if I lay on my back I start vomiting and run out of breath :o . I can only sit upright or lie on my side.
I know I really need to see a dentist but I've been trying to get through to the end of the pregnancy first.
I'll talk to a midwife today, thanks :)

That sounds awful. But seriously My dentist is wonderul and did it in short breaks and let me sit up as soon as i felt I needed to, so if you really cant put up with the pain anymore, ring the dentist Im sure they can work something out even if they do it while the chair is still kinda sitting up, I did same thing as you first time tired to put up with the pain untill after bubs was born but basicallly my middy said better to get it done, cause the stress of the pain you go through would be worse for baby and also having poor oral health while preg would be worse for bubba too...:hugs::hugs::hugs:I really hope you can work something out soon

I'm pretty sure codeine is fine in pregnancy.
