Hi
I have just started on my IVF journey and i am very overwhelmed by the amount of info and the differences between all the clinics.
My GYN is part of Sydney IVF but it seems to be the most expensive of them all. How do you choose and why is there such a difference in costs.
Any help would be great
Thanks:)
im with westmead fertility centre(ran out of westmead public hospital) , i choose WFC as i had heard about the FS there from others and the price was also a huge factor for us as we couldnt afford to pay thousands for treatment.
WFC is heap cheaper than lots of other clinics as its a non profit making service.
good luck finding a clinic that is right for you

I have done a fair amount of research into this ....and the prices vary drasmatically ...though the protocols and success rates seem to be quite similar throughout various clinics.
Westmead is the cheapest by quite a long way ....
If cost is a big factor, and you are not particularly attached to your FS, I would shop around and go to the cheapest in your area (remember you are back and forth to your clinic fairly regularly so it needs to be convenient.
Good luck

Hello!
I'm also with Westmead Fertility Centre, and for a round of IVF, with hormonal support, it cost us $1450, and we got over $1000 of that back off Medicare. We had friends who went thru them and raved to us about them. So it was a word of mouth thing, and also the cost. I've done a little bit of research, and they are by far the cheapest around. Google a few clinics, and it should come up with their cost etc.
Good luck!!

that is a perfect example ....Nat said her costsd ere $1450 per cycle before medicare.
I go through Fertility Specialists of WA and the cycle cost is over $7,000 before medicare.
As I said - the prices vary a LOT from clinic to clinic.
