What do you consider a high temp?

DD is at 38.5.
Is this high? Should I be taking her to see someone. She has been constipated but we have given her drops for this.

I consider a high temp 39-40 deg

Give her panadol or nurofen. If it hasn't gone down within an hour, go to a dr just to be safe :)

I'll second K.M.'s advice. Give her some panadol and monitor the temp. If it stays over 38.5 for more than 4 hours or comes and goes at that level then it's time to see a doctor. For bub's under 6 months see a dr for temps over 37.5.

I also make sure DD is not overdressed. Strip her down to diaper and singlet as long as she's not in a draft or breeze. And lots to drink too.

Ditto to what KM and Martha posted, once temps get to around 39 there is a possibility of feverial convulsions and or Shut down so I always play it on the safe side and see a doctor if the temps persist.
