Hello, I have settle in to town I don't mind it around the area, I lived in Bairsdale for 12 months 3 yrs ago then moved to the Goulburn Valley, and now we are back in the area. I never really spent any time in the latrobe valley before i moved and I can't say i like it that much yet, I guess i will adpt sometime. I have settled in well, I miss the Goulburn Valley for some werid reason, I did nothing but complain about the place and area and the heat.
Thanks for replying, I begin to think there was no one from this area. I am living in Traralgon too. Were about in the Latrobe Valley are you girls from?
Cheers Melanie :flowerz:

Just wondering if any of you ladies had your bubs at sale hosp or latrobe regional?
I am sussing out private ob's for later in the year and im struggling to find the names of any in traralgon ? I know of a couple in Sale but would prefer to have bub at LRH i think (more modern facilities etc.).
Any feedback would be great.:)

hey ba1977 i had dr norwood as my ob he bulk billed at the clinic in morwell behind KFC, he had a great bedside manner as well. I had my first at sale hospy and had my 4th at latrobe hospital, latrobe were good they were very keen for me to move around even though bubs was being monitored they let me labour my own way :)
I like dr norwood but he is busy and you find that you may wait for your appointments but if you ring before hand you get a good idea generally :)

I am intrested in meeting other gippsland mums, I agree with punk baby a park would be good but the colder weather is coming so it does make it hard to do park. I am not very local and have no idea of anywhere to go other then park. The indoor play centre could work I don't think they cost too much.
Hope we get some more who are intrested.

Hi Newhopekte!. You will only be 5 minutes drive from me! Not sure about answers to your IVF questions but im sure there are people you can get in touch with when your here. You shouldnt have a prob getting a job if your not fussy for a start. Theres always jobs advertised in the local paper and bairnsdale has factory work to tide you over if need be or there are market gardens nearby (Picking gerkins totally sucks though:thumbsdown:). Let me no when you arrive.Good luck with the move!

Hi Traralgon Mums.... Just seeing who is out there..? I am a 31 year old married Mum and my husband has been offered a good job in Traralgon and we are considering moving there. I have a 2 year old son, nearly 9 month old daughter and I am 11 weeks preg so I am desperate to know there are some Mums out there, good playgroups etc as I will miss all my friends and family where we currently are. Have you all met each other and established a good get together group. I currently go to two a week so need to keep that up for sanity and to get my toddler out and about. Whats it like to live there. Where should we stay clear of when looking for a house.. Help !!!

Hi I moved to Yallourn North 3 years ago now. I knew only a few people whom my husband was friends with already. He worked at the mine, we use to live in Melbourne. We moved just before our first was born. I have one son whom is 3yrs old next week and our second son is nearly 6.5months old.
If anyone would like to catch up for a chat and play date please let me know, it would be nice to know a few more people as my mother's group no longer meets up.
Cheers

I had DD at Warragul, and it was such a wonderful experience!! I highly recommend it. At the time, i was travelling nearly an hour each way just to get there for appointments rather than go to Casey or Monash (i was living in Dandenong at the time)
My SIL also had her DD & DS at Warragul and both births were lovely. Also my best friends wife just gave birth there in October, and that was another lovely experience too.
All the nurses and staff are really sweet and helpful. I got HEAPS of help afterwards with lactation consultants and everything. I was encouraged to stay as long as i needed to (i stayed 6 days). I had a private room and the birthing suites are very new and just beautiful. Everything i needed or requested was available.
It's a really really great place to give birth.

Hi Girls! We moved down from NSW. DH is defence. Does anyone have any thoughts/comments on the hospital and midwives here in Sale? I'm hoping to go through the midwives instead of an OB to give me more chance of VBAC. I was told that OBs only let you labour for 8 hours if you've already had a c-section. I'd be very interested to hear of other peoples experiences!
VeganMum - Is your DD starting prep this year? If so, where?
MsEnchantress - over half way...YAY! Are you going public or private for your birth?

My DD will be starting school next year and im thinking St Thomas' but haven't decided yet! At the moment she is doing the kinder program at gumnuts! What school is your DD going to?
I gave birth to my daughter at Sale hospital and it was overall a pleasant experience, there were some old cranky midwives but I'm sure you get them everywhere! I was young and inexperienced too so if I was to have another baby it could be a different story haha!

Hi ladies (and 1 gentleman!) I am mum to 2 year old DD. Originally from gippsland and returned to Traralgon last year. Would love to get to know some local mums. Have read through the thread and wonder whether you ended up having the meet up talked about? I left years ago with no children and returned with one so previous social groups just aren't the same due to different priorities now. Gave up working to stay home and looking for parents interested in casual get togethers and socialising for DD. Also wonder if anyone has attended play groups in the area and can reccommend any? Hope to talk soon.

Hi there!
I found these responses on the "Buy and Sell Baby & Kids Stuff -Gippsland" Facebook site:
There is one in morwell called happening families in berry st, also a playgroup in blackwood court morwell
There is one called little lambs they are on today at 10 am at the back of the church down next to the carpet joint and Vic roads in Morwell
I haven't attended either so I don't know if they're any good, but might be worth checking out if you are looking for a playgroup.

Hi bluewrennie (and others:-))
I'm a Traralgon mum and although I don't use playgroup myself as I don't have time, a few of my friends from mums group are involved with Traralgon playgroup which is located on the street that runs in front of the showgrounds.. I hope that makes sense because I Can't remember what it's called but there is a number on the sign out the front or you could call Latrobe city on 1300367700 and ask for the contact details of local playgroups.
Hope this helps. You could also contact the maternal health nurses on the same number and ask for contact details for mums with children the same age as your daughter?
My mums group organised be them is the same one I was in with my DD who is now 5 and we still catch up every couple of weeks.

you may be able to post on this page and see whether there are any other playgroups in the Sale area :-)
