Hi All!

I thought I saw a thread about this somewhere but couldn't find it on the Septemberries forum, so much have been elsewhere.

Anyway...I've started thinking about the birth and am becoming quite interested in the idea of having a doula. I like the idea of having someone consistent there for the whole labour and birth thing. I'm planning to give birth in a hospital and am aware that even if I find a great OB that I love, she may not even be on duty when I give birth and I may end up with a complete stranger. My DH is not so convinced yet, so I thought I'd ask here...

Anybody have a doula for a previous birth who'd care to share an opinion?

Anyone planning on using one for this birth?

Hi Waahoo

This is my first and we have decided to hire a doula. Like yourself, I want the same person with me the entire way through my birth and would like to have someone to reassure me throughout the process. As much as I hate to say it, my DH can stress me out sometimes and I want a level headed person in the process as well to help me through

Just going through the process of finding one now.

HI girls
This is #3 for me, and I've never had a doula, and I've always gone public.
For me, my constant is my husband. I see childbirth as something thats going to happen, regardless of who is in the room, and frankly, i just want the darn thing out when iim labouring! We have fabulouse midwives at the hospy, and I only have an OB come if needed.
Good luck though,
