i am part of a group that offers their time to families that have ill children , premmie babies etc
Basically the photographers go out to their home, hospital gardens etc and do the shoot edit them up and give the families a disc of all pictures taken and some prints..
this is such a generous act of these ladies to donate their time and their art
if you know of someone that perhaps could do with a laugh and some memories captured pm and i will pass on their details directly to you..
i am just about to om a moderator to ask if i can put a link directly to their website as i was unsure if this was allowed...

I did last month in Sydney though... But sadly it's a little too late for the bub to have photos taken... Great idea though, I know my friend would have loved that so much! Her daughter's 10 days with uswas too much for the Angels and they had to take her back... More photos of her (especially professional ones) would have been awesome, for the older kids too...
Personally, I hope I don't ever know anyone ever again who would need a service like this, but it is a fantastic idea! I will keep this in mind if I know someone in this kind of situation in the future...

they are aust wide and have some high end fantastic photographers...they do do premmie still borns etc but only after a certain age....they are an amazing group of ladies that run this.....im doing a shoot next month for a lady whom has a terminal ill child..he is such a honey....real little monkey...it is my gift to her...it is the least i can do really...if i can take photos and not give back to families in need then what is worth having a talent such as photography right...

So true. Unfortunately for my friend though, her daughter passed in Jan at 10 days after her 3rd open heart surgery... Such a horrible thing to happen to such a loving family... The keepsakes we put in for her will have to do as well as everything the hospital gave her... I will definitely keep it in mind though really hope I won't ever have to refer the services!!
I would have contemplated it for myself 19 months ago when we had no idea what was going on with DD1 (turns out its an odd form of Spina Bifida), but wouldn't have for DD2 who was 2 days off being premmie and has a heart condition...
I really hope this kicks off as it is truley a loving idea for families already going through such anguish!!

what an beautiful idea. i wouldve loved to have photos taken of frankie when she was a newborn in icu. its such a grim time and you sure dont feel like taking your camera out all that much.
you're an amazing woman to volunteer your time like that :hugs:
gosh .. that would be truly wonderful.. my friend just had a premmie baby - up north QLD .. is there anyone you know of ogilberry that could help her with some photos??? she is truly a beautiful girl who had a terrible scare in pregnancy .. and her little girl is fighting hard ..
??

Just wondering if there's any in Perth. One of the heart mums was getting induced yesterday and she may be interested in getting some photos done before bub has open heart surgery...
