Congrats Kayla on getting your P's!
Wow, we're into the third trimester already? Time is going so fast.
Had my exam today, don't know if I wrote enough or even about the write things. I'm just glad its over, no more studying for a while.
Hey PJ - Glad that your studies are over, that must be a relief. Will you be studying more after bubs, or will you take time off? I'm having to do one subject next semester in order to stay currently enrolled. It's a real pain! I'm really not looking forward to it.

I should probably check up on if I have to continue doing a certain amount, I don't think I do. I haven't registered for the degree yet, but I've done half of the core subjects. I'm taking a break probably until next Febuary at least. I usually do two units at a time which is 30+ hours a week of work (I don't always do that much though) so I'll have to look at doing one unit and ease myself back into it. The annoying thing is the units are getting harder. I don't like studying while pregnant let alone with a newborn! What exactly are you studying?
Yeah i am wondering what will be worse studying while pregnant (which i hated last year) or with a newborn and a toddler! Hmm not sure how we'll go. Also i'm studying a Bach of Social Science majoring in HR. I think that's the best idea, do one subject and ease yourself back into it.

Lol I'm doing a Bachelor of Communications in PR! Sort of similar in a way, and I'm studying through Griffith Uni.

Hi Everyone,
Hope you are all well.
V8: The story about the 16year old girl with 7 kids is unbelievable. Thanks for sharing. Imagine having triplets, then finding out you are having triplets again. Thanks for the new thread.
Cassie & Mummajugs: I look young for my age. I am 25, people think I am about 22.
CindyE: Just read your note about your friends going into labour after getting their eye brows waxed. I was going to book in and get mine done this week, but am now worried I will go into premature labour, ha-ha. It probably only happens to people that are due soon, so I should stop worrying and just do it as they are overgrown.
Eleanore: I got my GD test results back yesterday. Mine are fine.
EmsMum: I use to have acrylic nails, and since being pregnant can’t stand the smell when I walk past a nail place. Don’t know if I will ever be able to get them again, as know how bad the smell is. My husband has being saying for years that the fumes smell but I guess I have been immune to it. I may need to get gel instead, and go to a place that only does Gel. Only thing is it is more expensive. Those immunisation injection theme days sound like a great idea. Hope they have them here.
Kayla: Congratulations on getting your P’s.
Hi to everyone else.
As for me…
I have felt soooo **** this week. I have been really tired, had all sorts of cramps, and lots of Braxton Hicks. A few times I thought I was in labour, as only 9 weeks for me to go now. I went to the city with my mum to the Diana exhibition last weekend, and think I exhausted myself. I have spent all week at home on the couch, except yesterday, and I had a bad day yesterday.
Yesterday I had my ob appointment (everything is ok, bub is head down) so my husband took the morning off work and came with me. He had to go to work after the appointment, but missed the bus and there was not another one for an hour. It was also storming & parking too expensive in the city for the day, so I offered to drive him in On the way home I decided to go to Westfield Chatswood and see my sister in law who works there. I found a spot really close to the door, but it was a tight one next to a pole and the car on the other side was crocked and on the line. I could only get in on a funny angle and then straighten up. When I was straightening up I made it worse and lodged the car next to the pole. I could not get the car out or straight without smashing it, as it was touching the pole but not smashed. I also could not get out of the car because it was the drivers side and the door that was touching to pole. I got really upset and hysterical (hormones) and had to call my sister in law at work to come and help me. She thought I was in labour I was that hysterical on the phone. My sister in law fixed it without smashing the car, but I was shook up all day and really upset. My husband had to come and get me from the shopping centre after work.
I think I had the problem because I can not turn the wheel as quickly/sharp with the belly, and could not twist my body to see what was happening. For the last week my father in law and friends have been asking if I am still driving and saying I shouldn’t as I am too big. I have been fobbing it off and thinking they are crazy but now think they may have a point. Think I am ok to drive but If an accident was about to happen not sure if I could react in time. I think I will only drive short distances in my local area, and not try and get into tight spots. What does everyone else think? Is everyone else still driving ok?
Sorry for the really long post. Hope you all have a good weekend.
Miranda
PJ - Yeah im external too through Southern Cross uni at Lismore. Griffith is good though my twin sister studied her degree externally through them.
Miranda - Glad your ob appt went well and bubs is head down. Goodness i would have been so upset too about the parking incident. At least you didn't panic and try and fix it when you could have damaged your car, sounds like your SIL saved the day. :goodvibes: I am trying to limit my driving i don't want to drive too far, but i also try and limit my outings to one per day as otherwise i just get too tired driving and with looking after DS and being pregnant. At least i am not having cankles like i did with Josh and i can still wear my wedding rings (though i got them resized after having DS), but yeah the swelling was unbearable last time, so hoping to avoid that this time.

Thanks V8, made me feel a lot better.
Yeah my sister in law was great. She even took me into the back section of her store, gave me a drink, and let me sit there for ages. She is like my sister as I met my husband when she was 14. I asked her to be at the birth.
That would be hard looking after a little one and being pregnant at the same time.
My hands have swollen so I can't wear my ring.
That's so nice of your SIL, how lovely, i am sure she'd be totally honoured to be at your birth aswell. It's very exciting.
My hands swelled heaps and i thought they would just go back to normal after birth and the fluid went, but nope. It's actually quite common that it doesn't go back to normal and your feet can even permanantly change sizes due to pregnancy. I went up a shoe size and have a wider width foot due to pregnancy, weird but true! So yeah, just letting you know incase it happens to you, i had never heard of it before.

:smiliedance:Shiny new thread, wahoo :yelclap:
Can you believe that tomorrow is the first day of March, OMG! Getting close now ladies!
Well I'm so, so tired tonight. Hubby got home from work at about 5.30pm and lounged around on the couch (I was silently fuming) while I slaved away and cooked dinner. I went and ate my dinner in my bedroom because hubby was watching rugby, and DD came and hung out with me. I came out and hubby was doing the dishes. He washed them & dried them, then he got the clothes in off the line and folded them up for me. I was rapt! He certainly made up for lazing around on the couch when he got home. He knew I was tired & grumpy so thought he'd help out (without me asking, that's the miraculous part) so it was a lovely surprise. I think I'll have an early night.
miranda, glad to hear bubs is well but sorry you had a stressful time afterwards. With regards to driving I'm still fine and zip around here and there every day, mind you I don't have to go far as everything we do is within 15 mins away so it's good. I did notice, however, today when putting my seatbelt on that it's getting to the point where there's not much give left in the seatbelt so I'm not sure how much longer it will go around me for , but I'm still fine to drive. I drove right up until the end with DD. I do get angrier on the road though (not road rage or anything, lol), don't have much patience atm.
I didn't get too much swelling in my hands and wore my rings right throughout my pregnancy with DD. When my milk came in, 4 days after having DD, my feet swelled up like elephant woman. It was GROSSE. They stayed swollen for about 7-10 days. My hands haven't swelled up yet, and hopefully they don't.
catalytic, glad you got through your exam today. I'm sure it will be great not having to study for awhile.
Well I'm off to chill out for awhile, maybe watch some tv and then hit the sack.
Ciao for now

Hi Everyone,
Mirinda - lots of :hugs: for the parking experience... I HATE parking at the best of times and am one of those people who will happily park at the ends of the earth to avoid having to do something that might even remotely be a squeeze!!
Emsmum - I had the same thoughts about my impatience today - I zoomed out and round a truck just because I got the impression that it would be too slow (which of course them it wasn't, and sat behind me the rest of the way) - I hate drivers like that that seem to weave just to save 5 seconds and get two cars ahead, and then today I was one of them :o
No toys for us for needles either Bel - Charlotte had her 18month ones last Friday - only had time for 1 tear before she was busy peeling off the bandaid to use as a sticker!! No more for us (well for her) until she's 4 now - yippee!! I've always used the GP too - sooooo preferred the one at Keperra where we used to take her (seemed so relaxed, the great nurse encouraged you to sit and feed for as long as needed afterwards etc) - the one close to here seemed extremely clinical, but I suppose got the job done
V8 and PJ- how do you find external study - I absolutely HATED it!!! Just felt like I was paying all that money for very little in return (a lot of readings to start off with, someone to mark the 2 assigns per unit and the occassional email response - an awful lot at nearly $1000 a unit!)
[QUOTE]At least i am not having cankles like i did with Josh and i can still wear my wedding rings (though i got them resized after having DS), but yeah the swelling was unbearable last time, so hoping to avoid that this time.
I've actually moved my rings down a finger this pregnancy (did it about a month ago) - the engagement ring has always been a size smaller than my wedding ring (once I got it, I REFUSED to be without it ). I didn't have an issue with DD, but I think it was more a case of being more pregnant in the warmer months that was my concern this time - I can still get thing rings on and off (at a pinch) but really vividly remember the purple finger (and lots of emotion heartache that came with it) of a customer who had to get her rings cut off when I worked for a jeweller....not if I can help it!!

oh...and forgot to say (not that I have an issue with a shiny new thread...did mean to say it when IssacsMum started the last new one) but just a hint for those who struggle to keep up to where they are (not checking in as often etc) - if you click on the little tick in front of the thread name, it will automatically take you to the page you were up to when you last signed in - certainly saves a lot of backtracking!! :smiliedance:

Hi ,
Thought I'd pop my head in and say hi -
Seeing as It's a fresh new thread I thought Why not !?
Hope everyone is going well :)
Well I went for a hosp app yesterday and bubs head is down also got my results back for the GD test and It's all good :smiliedance:
Can't believe we're in our third trimester now!
This pregnancy has really gone fast but I'm still over it  Can't wait to meet bub .
Anyway , I'll try again to keep up with this thread (If I'm welcome as It's been sooo long) I'll try and drop in and say hi when I can .
I'm not very good at keeping up :o
Hey Ametrine, good to see you popping in, hope to see you more often and as Amanda said you can just click the little thing at the top of the thread to take you to the first unread post. :) Good to hear all is going well with bubs and your GD test.
Amanda, i prefer external study, i hated going to lectures and things like that, i never learned anything, this way i get to do it in my own time on my own terms and prefer it much more.
Man, i want to have a shower and go to bed, but some kitten has been at our door for over an hour and the owners finally answered their mobiles and are coming to get it, they live a 20min drive away so i don't know how this kitten came all the way here, think someone took it and then the kitten escaped from their house. It's making me feel itchy so i hope i'm not allergic to cats, but it's in the garage till they come and then we can go to bed.

Hello everyone!
Wow it's been FOOR-EVAA since i was in here!
I've occasionally popped on and read a bit but been too tired to write, and there are soo many posts i can't keep up!
Kayla: Congrats on your PEEES!! YAY! how exciting! Have you been driving around everywhere, or are you a bit scared to go full force at the moment?
Mirandaj: awww i can totally understand how you would of been feeling in the parking situation. Moments like that get me in a total fizz and i usually would break down and cry... preggers or not! hehe
Emsmum: That's awesome your hubby took some initiative to help out!! YAY! lets hope he keeps it up! My DP is trying to help a bit more around the house with the cleaning so that is awesome!
V8: Hey, how are you doing? Have you done those hypnobirthing classes yet?
Hi to everyone else, Amanda, Ametrine, PJ too many peeps to name!!
Things going on with me in the past few weeks have been hectic!
Work has been crazy busy, and just when i want to slow down, i've had to stay late almost everynight last week and then do the terrible long bus trek home and not get home until around 9-10pm... after starting at 7:30am!
Last weekend i went to the Jeff Martin concert (formerly from the Tea Party!) it was sooo good! Although such a late night because my friend wanted to stay back afterwards and meet him and then follow his car to see where he was staying! HAHAH!! crazy night, but fun still!
I must say i'm finding it hard moving around easy with the extra load in front. Getting out of chairs, the car, couch and bed is a bit of a mission. I find putting my knickers on sometimes a struggle!
Regarding sleep, i'm sleeping a bit better, although i don't think i have slept one night all the way through where i haven't woken at least a few times since being preggers! Why is it that we shouldn't sleep on our back? I find i am getting sore and sick of sleeping on my side, and find myself sleeping on my back. What are the dangers of being on the back for long period?
Sorry this is massive, i could rant and rave for ages, cause it's been so long and lots has been happening... i'll try to be more active on here!

Thats the part that annoys me the most too. I'm using fee help to pay mine, works similar to HECS I pay it back when I'm earning a certain amount per year. The course convenor was more helpful to me in this unit, I got one email from the tutor others were just ignored. They have discussion forums but its a waste of time if no one participates. I'm the same as Vee though, I work better independantly. Sometimes its a struggle to get motivated, but until the last two units I've gotten all high distinctions, so I must be learning ok on my own! Its the only way I can study with now having two young kids to look after I should be finnished by the time DD1 will be in prep. I'm looking at going back to TAFE for 2 years to do a film and television course. LOL I'll be 30 by the time I'm finnished studying!

Hey HBP!!! Good to see you!
It's to do with the blood (and therefore oxygen flow) to bub...even being up on a slight tilt (ie if I'm absolutely sick of sleeping on my side, I just shove a pillow under my bum on one side so I'm on a lean) is a major help. Also as we het closer to the end, that's a fair amount of baby weighing down on our internal organs too!

I have still been about and reading, just pretty tired and not feeling much like posting.
But I just wanted to quickly add to the sleeping on your back thing.
The problem with lying on your back when you're heavily pregnant is that it can sometimes, but not always, put pressure on the vena cava. This in turn makes you feel breathless and light headed and like you're going to faint, which is a very strange sensation when you're lying flat on your back lol! I remember this happening to me in the dentist's chair when I was pregnant with DS#1.
I was going to put a link in but remembered that I'm not allowed lol! So I've copied and pasted this from another website.
If you lie flat on your back for a few minutes or more during the later months of the pregnancy (after about 24 to 28 weeks of pregnancy), you may start to feel light-headed, dizzy and possibly breathless. This does not happen to every pregnant woman. However, if it does it is because your growing baby is making your uterus heavy, and is placing pressure on one of your major blood vessels called the 'vena cava'. The vena cava lies on the right side of your body. During pregnancy your enlarged uterus also naturally leans towards your right side (as it moves up and out of the pelvis after 12 weeks). This can make the vena cava blood vessel prone to becoming compressed while lying on your back.
The vena cava carries your blood supply back from your body to your heart. If this blood supply is reduced by lying on your back, then this may slow the flow of blood from the heart to other parts of the body (such as your lungs and brain, causing breathlessness and dizzy sensation). However, generally pregnant women need to lay quite flat on their back before the vena cava becomes compressed. Usually by lying on your right or left side, sitting in an upright position, or even in a semi-upright position will avoid vena-caval compression.
If the woman's blood flow to her heart is reduced, then her unborn baby may also receive less blood flow for a short period of time. This may occasionally be enough to cause the baby to be temporarily stressed and in perhaps open their bowels inside the uterus before the birth. A baby's first bowel motion is called 'meconium', and the medical term given to when a baby passes this before the birth is 'meconium stained liquor' (or 'MSL'). Meconium stained liquor becomes evident if the waters break around the time of labour and the amniotic fluid is stained a greenish colour.
As a general rule, you should try not to lie flat on your back for more than a few minutes at a time after about 24 to 28 weeks of the pregnancy. (Although ironically this is often what happens at your routine pregnancy visits, while your caregiver checks your pregnant belly!) Sleeping on your left or right side is best. However, it is possible to sleep somewhat on your back during the last few months of pregnancy. You can do this by placing a flattish pillow under the right side of your body. This slightly tilts your body off towards your left hand side, moving your uterus off the vena cava blood vessel to avoid compressing it.

Thanks for the congrats everyone!
I had a long day today! I went out with mates and drove around everywhere none stop  one whole tank of petrol later and im back home lol, plus im tired anyways and have been feeling huge today my belly feels so big and it feels like bubs needs more room in there but all in all i had a good day.
happybunnypony- I have been driving alone it does feel scarey, its very strange being alone in a car but im sure i will get use to it.
Bel- Did u hear my sister isnt going upto sydney anymore? :(
Ametrine- Welcome back! i hope u pop in here more often.
 Sonja.
Hey All
Thanks for the info about sleeping on your back isaacsmummy and for asking HBP as i was thinking of this the other day and i forgot why it isn't recommended.
HBP - I didn't end up going to the hypynobirthing classes, i sprained my ankle the day i was going to go, then we had the inlaws the next week, and then i just couldn't be bothered now! We have too much happening.
Emsmum - That's great news about hubby deciding to show some initiative and help out, really great when you don't have to ask them to do stuff all the time and yes you should be able to be relaxing and put your feet up too!
Kaya - Sounds like a tiring day out, and i can't believe you drove so much you went through a whole tank of petrol, that's so funny! lol
Bel - Sorry Sienna is not a happy little pumpkin, i hope she gets better soon.
PJ - How long of your course do you have to go? I have done 12 units of 24, so i'm half way, but it may take me 4 more years to finish the rate i'm going!
Things here are good, my twin sister got engaged today and she also got accepted into the police force and my little brother has his visa and plane ticket booked to go to Japan where he'll be living for like 12 months or more. So we have a busy month planned with easter and various celebrations and going away parties with the family! And i miss out, not having any kind of baby shower unfortunately, but hoping to have a party once Cameron is born. :smiliedance: So this is yet another month that will fly by and i'll be freaking out that it won't be much longer and i'll have a newborn baby!
Hi to everyone else, hope you are all doing well. :D

Another 2 1/2 years, but longer since I'm taking a break. I've only completed 4 units, dropped one half way through and I've done two others that were towards another degree (but I changed my mind and switched. The first two units I did when I was pregnant with DD.
I have so much cleaning to do I have to get something started today, its easier now that I'm not studying. I feel like a weight has been lifted!

Just a quick one as its been a stressful day in the delivery suite..
Kayla - no i didnt hear i will read up on it tomorrow..
isacsmammy- the whole blood thing you were saying is why im on needles etc
V8 - after today i hope sienna is ok tomorrow..
ok about today... had major pains since yesterday so i went to the GP he said if it gets any worse go to the Maternity unit...
Pain didnt get any better over night so i called the delivery suite this morning they told me to come in... hooked me up on the monitor which showed my uterus doing some thing every time i got the pain.. my Ob was called he came and and told me that i may have ligament damage around bub which is what the GP was guessing.. the hospital gave me panadeine and told me to come back tomorrow if still here.. My OB said it didnt look like contractions...
They told me from lifting a 9 month old baby all day probably didnt help.. but hey thats life i have sienna and she comes 1st...
PJ - Gosh i was so sick of my house today, well i was cleaning windows, dusting all the skirting boards, made Milo clean the oven and microwave, i cleaned out our fridge, did all the vacuuming and mopping, and i had to put some linseed oil on some furniture, cleaned both toilets, showers and vanities and Milo did the mowing. So we have had a bit of a spring clean which felt really good. Now i can relax a bit.
We are getting foxtel tomorrow so i'm a bit excited by that! Now i don't think i'll get any housework done!
And yeah we will be really busy this month and next month have a girlfriend staying here for a week or so from Sydney with her little boy, so we'll no doubt be busy then too! :smiliedance:

about me- well, its been a relaxing week. done a little bit of shopping on the weekend. just a few bits and peices. we only have 2 bigish things left to get, which is amazing! just the rocker/bouncer and baby monitor! we are way ahead of schedule, which is somewhat suprising considering we dont hae loads of money at the moment, but we are being smart with it!
EVERYONE- one thing i have completely forgotten about is antenatal/birth classes. i dont know if im going to bother going or not, as i have gotten alot of info about everything from other sources. does anyone think they are a must do? what are peoples experiences? are they worth it? this would be a great help guys! thanks!

Hi everyone ,
Hope you all had a nice weekend !
Congrats on your new car Kayla . :)
Well today I am looking up baby factories-warehouses in Sydney , I need to find some good deals , we have to get more than we thought !
We also need to get a new pram as our pram doesn't come with a toddler seat - So far I am thinking about going with the Phil & Teds pram with toddler seat - It seems to have the best reviews and most recommendations - It's just soooo expensive though !!
I actually haven't bought anything for bub yet - except for a few outfits so over the next few weeks I have to start thinking about that.
Anyone know of any good factories or warehouses in Sydney where I can go to the one spot and get all my baby needs?
Also when will everyone start washing their baby clothes - blankets etc and setting up their cots-bassinettes - I was thinking around 35 weeks - Is that too soon ?
I just want to be prepared If bub comes early.
Can't believe how soon It is til we all meet our bubs !! The last 10 weeks should go really quick.. We are on a countdown woooohooo!
I actually have so much on over the next few weeks so time should fly - I just had df's birthday, then my birthday is nearly here, then we have a 50th,then df's cousins wedding, then my sisters birthday, then Easter, then my brother's Engagement party,my best friends birthday,my mums birthday,df's brothers birthday then bub will be here !!!
We have so much on and I'm so sad I can't drink for any of the celebrations :( I know It's silly - It will be worth it I know - but I would love to celebrate with a glass of champagne ...or bourbon hehe but not too long now i guess - I only plan to breast feed for the first 3 months .
Anyway - Guess I better go .
Have a good one

PJ & V8: I did my degree externally with Southern Cross Uni. I did a Bachelor of Business Administration. I thought they were great as I didn’t have to go to the uni once, only did for graduation. The course was really good also, was a lot more flexible to pick the subjects you want. I prefer external study as well.
Kayla: I am doing a course/classes called Powerbirth, basically yoga and relaxation/mid training for birth. Congrats on the car.
EmsMum: Thanks. You are lucky you are fine driving. I can get the seatbealt around me, but have trouble reaching the wheel, and turning my body.
AmandaW: Thanks, and thanks for the tip to find the page you are up to. That is really helpful. I click through all the pages. Will click on the tick from now on.
Ametrine: Of course you are welcome. I have started washing bub’s clothes. In Sydney there is Baby Kingdom, however I did not find them very good. I thought their prices were pretty much the same as every where else. I got most of my stuff from Toys R Us, at one stage they were bringing out a catalogue every month of baby stuff on sale. They aren’t doing the baby catalogue now but think still have good sales. Sorry I do not know of any of factories/discount outlets, besides Baby Kingdom.
HBP: Don’t know how you are doing those long hours. Sorry to hear that you have been really busy at work.
PJ: Sorry I did not twig either that PJ is Catalytic. When did you change it?
Bel1978: Sorry to hear you are having pains. Must have been a stressful day. Glad you are feeling a bit better.

Congratulations Kayla i knew you would be ok... car sounds great plenty of room for bubs too so that is even better!
Hello to everyone else... im sorry but i need to have a little whinge it should maybe go in the venting thread but im in here so it can go here haha
Hope everyone is well and bubs are being good for them!!!
Hello everyone i feel like i havent spoken to you all for a very long time!!
I was off work sick last Thursday and Friday... Wednesday i had a bit of gastro like sickness it was gross Thursday i was feeling completely washed out so i went to the docs and then i was advised to have friday off and to rest as my blood pressure is higher than normal so now i have to have regular appointments. Doc doesnt think its too much to worry about as it may just be because i was sick but i should take it easier and stop rushing around after everyone when i am the pregnant one (kinda makes sense to me) and i gotta stop stressing over work etc... not too much longer at work though so that is fine haha.
Other than that i picked up my cot yesterday so i played last night with things hahaha it was fun!! DP put a mark on it though so i was a bit upset as he is always so careless and i wanted it to stay all pretty for now at least!! Its nothing big but he is always so rushed with everything and seems to not care sometimes! Then i needed help and he was out having beers with his dad as per normal so i was getting really angry about that too! He has not stopped drinking all weekend Friday night we had a beer and pizza night at my parents (every friday) Saturday we had Rorys grandads 85th birthday and then Sunday we had family over for BBQ as some are going home today and they live in different states so yeah and no doubt he will drink again tonight aggghhh i get so angry because sometimes it feels like im the only one saving for anything and he is just spending on alcohol it gets me really upset i dont know if its normal but i feel like me and him dont do anything together unless it involves him drinking and im scared it will be like this forever i might go home and talk to him about it. I mean he complains we dont have sex (we really dont i just dont want it) i just want affection other than sex and he cant help himself he always has to try and weasel his way in and it makes me angry and then we end up not talking aggghhh!!! So many issues in my head right this second!
Whinge over haha.
Hmm what else oh i bought bubs some more things yesterday just some bodysuits and a pair of little haviana thongs bahaha they were so cute i couldnt resist oh and some sockies... i went through everything last night and i think i have way tooo many clothes so it is time i stop.. the only things i need now is colours Blue or pink and some more body suits which i think i will wait to get as i will get some longer sleeve coloured ones to go under some of the overalls i have bought etc! then when bubs is born need to get some little jumpers and outfits... i need some cardis too!
So now it is more essential things like baby wash/lotion/wipes/cotton balls etc.
And stuff for me in hospy like black undies/pads/etc
Wow i cant believe im nearly there oh i need a couple of other big things too being a rocker and a nappy bag and i think thats it? More room decos and thats all yay!!!
Cant believe how close we all are!!! Soooo exciting!!!
Hmm ill be back on soon to do personals but loving yas and leaving yous for now xoxox

Hi Ladies,
I've been flat out for the past few days so haven't had a chance to post so please forgive me if I miss out on anything.
Firstly though - holy heck Bel, how are you feeling today?:hugs: That must have been so nerve wracking for you!
Vee, I know what you mean about the cleanup. We've got a council cleanup in 3 weeks so I've been organising all of the stuff to go out on the kerb. I've got STACKS!. If in doubt, throw it out :p
Congratulations on your first car Kayla, you must be so excited!
Ametrine, do you have the 'Pram Warehouse' in Sydney or is it a Brisbane-only thing? If it's just in Brisbane, you can probably have it all delivered as long as you know specifically what you are after. I just ordered my cot (King Parrot Ulur (http://www.pramwarehouse.com.au/product.asp?pID=5834&cID=25)) and layback stroller (Steelcraft Enigma (http://www.pramwarehouse.com.au/product.asp?pID=6024&cID=19)) this morning. They gave me a whopping discount which was great. The King Parrot is made by Boori so I'm pretty chuffed about the quality for the price we paid.
I actually ordered the cot in white (3-4 week delivery) and the stroller comes in a stone colour with cream suede around the head and black leather for the feet. Too funky :flowerz: We're buying all of our things with the intention that this will be our last bubba (maybe;)) so I'm not too stressed out this time in getting the most years out of our investment:laughing:

kayla- thats awesome news about your car. bet your over the moon!
ametrine- i got my cot, chest of draws and change table and a few other bits and peices from 'my baby warehouse' in Minchinbury(near mt druitt) they always have REALLY good sales on and if you buy a few things you can get sales on top of sales, then if you buy more than 15 items there they will give you between 10%-20% off depending on how much it all adds up to be. i found we saved ALOT of money by going to them. they specialise in all the love'n'care ranges aswel. its great. you must check it out.
oh, just had a look at their card and they have 3 stores- lansdale, minchinbury and Leichardt
not sure where you are, so not sure whats closest!
hope this helps!
meegz- sorry to hear about DP being a pain, i think you need to just sit down with him and explain that you guys arnt in the situation to be able to throw money around on alcohol. i know if i was in your situation, i wouldnt put up with it  i can understand your frustration. i must say, im glad that my DP doesnt drink, smoke etc. makes life alot easier for us. just let DP know that friday night is beer and pizza night, so that it is night of drinking for the week. i know we all hate setting guidelines but when a little bub is in the picture we have to think about it wisely! hope things work out hun!
ok, now heres my little rant...
i just got a call from salvation army employment plus... saying that in the next 3weeks i have to complete 100hours of work... they told me its compusary. because i will be getting youth allowance from centrelink... the thing is... im not even getting payments yet...
and it looks as though i wont for the next couple of weeks at least, because they dont have enough evidence to support my case and need to get statements from my family about why i cant live with my parents and stuff. ITS SOOO ANNOYING. yeah ok, i dont mind working, but 100hours is a bit much for a pregnant lady that hasnt worked in over 6 months. i wont be able to work standing up or anything strenuous. so i dont understand what they want me to do. :banghead:
enough of that.
anyways i am well, bub is way too active its unbelieveable. to put it politely, shes kicking the **** out of me.
mmmmmmmmm
thats all for now.
hope all is well!

Meegzz: Sounds like my husband with the rushing and stuffing things up. We did parquetry floor boards ourselves, and a couple arn't done properly as he rushed them and did a careless job. I have been asking him to fix for about a year or more and he hasn't. He was supposed to do it before the baby comes, but hasn't.
At least he is drinking less. I told him he has to drink less now, and not be over the limit in case I go into early labour. Seems to be working. Maybe give that a try.
Cassie: Sorry you failed your P's. I failed 4 times before I got mine so don't feel too bad.
Mummajugs: My baby warehouse sounds good. I might check it out. Do they have a website?

My DP really isnt that bad and i dont mind him having a beer after work at all its just the fact that as im not drinking anymore we should be saving money but im sure that he is drinking more now that im not! I dont care if he has a beer around the pool with friends or whatever and i definately dont mind Friday pizza and beer night i am just getting fed up with the amounts that he is consuming lately... God help me hahaha. Im ok i just go a little insane at times and get ovverwhelmed with thoughts and sometimes i just need to burst!!
I told him that we need to talk before and he was like ok bubby you ok? and im like yeah i just gotta get some stuff off my chest so im sure he knows what im gonna talk to him about!
Im sick of being Taxi he doesnt understand that i am buggered and when i say i wanna go i mean i want to go home NOW not soon and definately not "after one more beer" agghhh:hair:. He is very helpful around the house he just likes to rush everything and is convinced he knows how to do everything
Haha everyone gets like this right?
Cassie: Dont be too upset you can go again!!! Better luck next time... i know its the last thing that you want to hear but you just gotta stay positive!!!
Bel - i read some of what you said before i hope all is going well and your pains have stopped try and relax and take things easy!!
Mummajugs is it just 100 hours of looking for work??? and applying for jobs? i know when i was on youth allowance i had to apply for 7 jobs a week and i had to attend stupid things at an employment agency to qualify for it!! It didnt bother me as i was not pregnant, i wanted a job and i needed the money... but yeah if you have to work 100 hours i would kinda be a bit upset too! especially being pregnant and not having worked for 6 months or so!! I cant wait to not work haha.
Rynosmum - i love your pram and cot too!!!
I cant wait to start setting up!

does anyone think they are a must do? what are peoples experiences? are they worth it? this would be a great help guys! thanks!
Hi Lauren haven't seen you in a while! Personally I didn't bother with the birth classes. I was just too tired to bother going, and I felt that I'd learn everything soon enough on my own. If you don't think you need them then you probably don't.
Also when will everyone start washing their baby clothes - blankets etc and setting up their cots-bassinettes - I was thinking around 35 weeks - Is that too soon ?
35 weeks is good timing, it may take you a good week to wash everything (depending on weahter). Thats when I'm going to start.
Sorry I did not twig either that PJ is Catalytic. When did you change it?
Yes, that was my aim to confuse you all! :D It changed last week, I realised my username was the same as my hotmail so I changed it just incase my MIL found this place doing a random websearch. Lol I was feeling paranoid that day!
i get so angry because sometimes it feels like im the only one saving for anything and he is just spending on alcohol
Yeah me too! :iagree:, its not nice rubbing it in my face all the time either (I wish I could have a drink too). He'll learn soon enough.
well i went for my driving test this morning and i failed :(
oh no! at least you don't have to wait too much longer. They like to trick you! Between checking mirrors etc you forget to check the road signs.
ok, now heres my little rant...
i just got a call from salvation army employment plus... saying that in the next 3weeks i have to complete 100hours of work...
That really blows, what sort of work is it, work for the dole? I had to do that once, all we ended up doing was surfing the net all day.
Congrats Kayla on your car!
Hope you are feeling better today Bel, its not pleasant being strapped to those monitors, they really made me worry too. Its getting increasingly harder to lift my 2 1/2 year old as well, getting in and out of the car is the worst.
I got my birthday present from my mum today, she bought me a 19inch flatscreen monitor for my computer. She's gonna be mad when she realises its bigger than hers! She thought she was getting me one the same size. I'm trying to get used to the screen its so big and bright. My other monitor had scratches so it would often make it hard to read things. I might just watch movies on this since its so much clearer than my tv!
DP wanted to take me to the lobster cave for my birthday, until we saw the prices! OMG $250 for a seafood platter, $99 per person for the set menu. And crays are around $63 a kilo at the moment. I checked out some other restaurants and found Margos at Crown does platters for $80 with crayfish. I've never tried crayfish before and DP likes seafood so we've been waiting for a special occasion to go out. Might have to wait a few weeks. I'm hoping I can get an extension on my layby since the car needs fixing first. Its one thing after another.
I can be lazy today, I mopped all the floors and did 4 loads of washing yesterday, that was enough to tire me out. We're doing a spring clean next weekend, I'm trying to arrange my room so there is space for the bassinette and change table (both of which I'll wheel out into the lounge during the day). I think its good to put bubs to sleep in the loungeroom during the day, so they learn to tell between day and night. They also get used to household noises and quickly learn to sleep through the night.. We did this with DD and she can sleep through anything now, she would naturally sleep deeper at night which was good for mummy and daddy.

meegz- hope DP listens when you have your little talk. let us know what happens.
meegz + PJ- i have no idea about the work they want me to do... i already have to look for 4 jobs a fortnight. and now this... im just too lazy/drained to do work like at the moment, it wouldve been fine if it was right through my pregnancy but to start now is just ridiculous! its soo annoying. i thikn im going to have to have a big talk to centrelink... esspecially the fact that im not even getting payments, yet they tell other organisations i am.
PJ- i dont think im going to bother with the birth classes either. i think i will just go with what my body thinks is the right way. just go with the flow i guess!:D and im like you aswel, cant be bothered too tired. i just asked because DP freaked out the otherday when he was reading about them and we wernt going to them haha. we asked me for reasons why we should and shouldnt go... the fact that i was too buggered all the time was enough explaining. haha
mummy2littleone- welcome! whats your name? im Lauren- 19- my first bub(girl too) look forward to hearing more from you in these approaching weeks!
PrincessJasmine
03-03-2008, 03:02 PM
Unfortunately Lauren there's not much you can do about getting out of the Centrelink requirements until you're 36 weeks. But the fact that your not getting payments but they say you are sounds a bit fishy. I'd give them a call and find out whats going on with the work at least, sounds like they are waiting on something you need to provide them in regards to your circumstances. Find out exactly what you need to do, it might not be that bad. It could just be seminars or jobsearch training, if its something physical then the only way to get out of it is get a certificate from your GP saying you can't work due to stress or something.
I'm trying to get my mum on a disability pension at the moment its not easy applying for a payment. Funny thing is the parenting payment, which you'll get put on when the baby comes is a bit easier to get. If you live with a parnter it changes everything (thats if your honest with them ).
mummajugs
03-03-2008, 03:14 PM
i know it sucks  if i find out its strenuous work, i will go to my doc and get a certificate saying that i will not be able to attend etc.
centrelink told me its 34weeks til im exclued from work/looking for work. which is only about 6 weeks away, so i guess its not too bad, but the fact ive been trying to get payments since the start of feb is really annoying me. but hey, they have to back pay me til the time i first submitted my claim, their loss!
haha im so over it all!
ive been completely honest with them about everything so i dont get myself into trouble... so when im living with my partner i will definitly tell them. im a bad liar haha!

Good afternoon :D
Firstly, welcome to mummy2littleone. I hope you enjoy being part of this zany bunch, and look forward to chatting to you more in the coming weeks.
Secondly, congrats on buying a car Kayla. Awesome news, good on you! That will definately make life a little easier once Jaylen arrives, getting out and about!
Things have been busy, busy, busy. Saturday we had a sausage sizzle at bunnings for my DD's kinder, we also went grocery shopping and then caught up with friends for a swim in the afternoon. Sunday I did 5 loads of washing, washed the sheets & re-made the beds, vacuumed, mopped the floor and baked a cake. After all that we went to A Day Out With Thomas (the tank engine) at Puffing Billy. DD loved it. We got covered in soot from the bludy train, which I was totally thrilled about (NOT)!. DD and I had our photo taken with the fat controller & Thomas, so she had fun and that's the main thing . Last night I folded up all that washing I'd hung out earlier in the morning.
This morning DD woke at 7ish, so I got up and put the dishes away, cleaned the benches & kitchen table, cleaned the stove top and cleaned the bathroom. Then we went to visit my aunty who is visiting from Qld, and DD went to kinder at 1pm. I got to watch Young & The Restless  and had a 10 min power nap (I find I just fall asleep anywhere these days, just for about 10-15mins then I'm ok again). I'm just about to go and get dinner ready.
I think the past 2 days I've been nesting , but at least the house is pretty clean for mother's group on Wed arvo (which I'm having here this week). Just got swimming lessons tomorrow morning, so I'll take it a bit easier tomorrow. It's so hot today I feel like I might spontaneously combust shortly!
Well that's enough :ecomcity: from me, glad to see there's been a lot of chatter going on in here lately and I'll be back later (or tomorrow) to do personals.
Take care everyone!
Mel - You've been hit by the nesting bug too! You guys are so busy, i'd be trying to get in any power naps you can get too! lol I am so sore today from cleaning so much yesterday, my thighs are aching and it's hard to walk! Ahwell, hopefully tomorrow i'll be better, i'm going to give myself a massage with this massager thing i bought later :D Or get DH to do it!
Meegz - Sorry your DP is being a bit heavy with the drinking, i agree with Miranda, just have a chat to him and i'm sure you guys can sort it out. Also about Centrelink, i would just get a medical certificate anyways and give it to them, you can get medical certificates to cover you for 6 weeks, and by then you'll be exempt from 'looking for work'. If you have slightly high BP or anything stress related to pregnancy you should be able to find a GP to do it. It's such a hassle having to look for work when you are pregnant and so close to having bubs.
Rynosmum - The stuff you got looks great, how are the renovations going?
Kayla - Congrats on your car, how fantastic!!
Cassie - Sorry you didn't pass hun, it's such a pain when you fail for not seeing a speed sign, i did the same thing in my first test, i failed straight away too and i only got just down the road from the QLD Transport Dpt. You'll get there though!
PJ - happybirthday That's so nice of your mum to get you a big monitor like that and that you guys are going out to dinner, are you allowed seafood? I don't eat it normally so i wouldn't know if it's ok or not, but i thought it mostly wasn't good if you're pregnant.
Ametrine - You guys are busy too!! We have a few things happening this month too, so by the time we are finished with that it'll be time for bubs! :smiliedance:
Mum2mylittleone - Congrats and welcome to the may mummies thread.
I got my birth pool today, here is a pic of Joshy playing with his train in it!
Joshy in birth pool (http://s95.photobucket.com/albums/l132/vee81/?action=view¤t=DSC01768.jpg)

Thanks Vee, its on Thursday, but mum got in early as she usually does. Probably wont go out to dinner for a few weeks (when we can afford to) but I'm keen on having some seafood. I'm going for a cooked platter so no raw fish. I only eat the prawns, fish and I'll try some cray. I just like the fact it comes on a big platter! I'm not really one to stick to the don'ts anyway, I just do what I feel is right for me.
Ooh I love the birthpool, I bet Joshy is begging you to fill it up. I assume your going to try it out before the baby comes? Let me know how long it takes to fill and how much water etc if you do. That's the one I'll be using as well. I'm worried its going to be too heavy, what fittings etc do you need for it?

Ok well i had my chat with my dear DP last night before i even spoke he goes "this is about my drinking isnt it" and im like yes im getting really angry about it as me and you do nothing together as you are always wanting to go out for beer etc. you are spending what im saving and i feel like its only me who has had to change for bubs.
and then he is like i know i was thinking about it today and i know i gotta stop drinking sooo much and im like good and then he goes"Im really sorry for being really distant with you the last couple of weeks i was just going through a scared patch im over it but it all kinda got overwhelming as 12 weeks isnt that far away" Then i was nasty and i was like "your making it harder by drinking so much as you are using that money on alcohol instead of getting all bubs stuff done"!!!
But we worked it out and he washed my car and we went grocery shopping and we had a really late dinner together but it was all ok! Then he finished putting the cot together for me so i could play lol but i love it and so does he :D
Tonight we are cleaning the house up a bit as i have a GF coming over on Thursday night for dinner and other friends coming on Saturday night for tea..
Its a long weekend this weekend yay!!! Oh and ive got my GD test this Thursday too im making mum come with me (i dont have work YAY)
So i hope everyone had a good night last night??? Anyone do anythging exciting?

Thats pretty much braxtons which you can have for a long time.....
I don't think It's Braxton Hicks cause I get Braxton Hicks sometimes too and my stomach tightens and hardens and my tum pokes out heaps , this is different - I can feel the bub moving really low and the pressure is low - not my tum like braxton hicks but lower ... wierd hey ?
I have to admit - I did remember this with last bub but in the last few weeks of the preg.
Sounds wierd but It's like the bub is rubbing It's head downward and It can feel so sensitive It'll almost make me jump !....

Just really quicly cause I'm at work (but couldn't resist)
EVERYONE- one thing i have completely forgotten about is antenatal/birth classes. i dont know if im going to bother going or not, as i have gotten alot of info about everything from other sources. does anyone think they are a must do? what are peoples experiences? are they worth it? this would be a great help guys! thanks!
I'm going to say opposite to PJ - I loved my antenatal classes first time round (haven't booked in this time, because Dh reckons we have it all under control - ha ha ha). It was great to meet a number of the maternity staff at the Wes, so that they weren't all total strangers for and after the birth (I did 6 night sessions...couldn't think of anything worse than spending a WHOLE sat in there)...and even though I'd read a lot, it was really reassuring to actually listen and talk to others in the same boat. The Wes had videos, a variety of midwives and docs come in an talk to us, and we all got to pretend bath and feed dolls etc...just so we'd had a little bit of a heads up - I found it a really reassuring experience
i did the same thing in my first test, i failed straight away too and i only got just down the road from the QLD Transport Dpt. You'll get there though!
I have to ask - was this the Zillmere one, with the High school zone down the road??? One of th people I went to school with was an automatic fail within the first 2 mins of her exam, and she even knew it was there because she went to the school :p
Had obs apt yesterday - bub has turned around so is now spine out which is a relief - just over 8 weeks to go, so shouldn't be a lot of change now accoring to ob....which is great news. Not so good is the rate at which it's growing!!! Fundal height jumped 3 1/2 cm in 2 weeks, so it's now measuring bigger than C who was always 2 weeks ahead - really happy that it'll be healthy, but don't want it growing that much every 2 weeeks for the next 8 *insert eyepopping icon here * Had a belly shoot on the weekend for a photographer who was asking on here which was lovely - can't wait to see the pics!!
Anyway, back to work  to all

I had an awful night last night. Bubs turned and I got really bad braxton hicks. I'm sure she was lying horizontal but it feels like she's now head down. I felt something digging under my ribs, making it painful to breathe. I suspect she was posterior last night too, since I was getting really bad back pain as well. I didn't get much sleep during the night. Now the kid wont stop whacking my bladder, I have to pee every time I stand up. For a while there I thought I was going into early labour the tightening was so bad and quite painful.
I have to ask - was this the Zillmere one, with the High school zone down the road??? One of th people I went to school with was an automatic fail within the first 2 mins of her exam, and she even knew it was there because she went to the school :p
Nope the highschool in Nambour which is just up the road from the Dept of Transport, so yeah failed a few mins up the road!
PJ - That's sounds quite uncomfy, i have no idea which way bubs is facing, wish i did know sometimes!
Amanda - Good to know that bubs is in perfect position, bit worrying about the measurement in weeks being over, Josh was always 2 weeks over with measurements and he was 9pd, Cameron seems to be spot on at each dating measurement so hoping he'll be smaller! lol
Meegz - Glad that chat with your DP went well, good that he can talk about it and that he admitted he was a bit scared, most men don't admit that, but it really is a huge change for them too becoming fathers, it's also important that you do keep the lines of communication open as the first few months with a newborn the partners really do get a bit neglected as there isn't much they can do (if you're breastfeeding etc).

Hey again girlies - i am very bored and its very quiet in here too!!
I feel sorry for all of you who are all achey and painy i hope tonight you all sleep better!!!
I havent had BH yet i dont think... what does it feel like?? I get tightening but no pain at all - i get the occassional cramp here and there but nothing that hurts too much oh i get back pain but lately i have been all good!!!
Bubs is very very active now which is good!!! Been very active for the last 2 weeks always kicking and shuffling around i reckon i either have a boxer or a very clumsy ballerina in there .
Amamnda - when are you working until???

 everyone! Sorry for my slackness.
Isaac now seems to be over his sickness which is good, so hopefully I'll have the chance to jump on here a bit more often! I had a terrible headache yesterday - was feeling quite dizzy and lightheaded, and had it all night last night, so DH is home today looking after the little one so I can rest. 'Tis quite nice to be able to sleep and lounge around all day - though I feel so lazy, and all the housework I don't do today is just going to be sitting there for me tomorrow  Never mind.
Kayla - congrats on your car! It's so exciting finally owning your own car and having the freedom to go where you want when you want. Enjoy! It'll be much harder ducking to the shops with a newborn in tow:yes:
Vee - your birth pool looks awesome! Looks like Josh loves it too :D Have you decided where you're going to set it up yet? Guess you still have plenty of time to figure that out though, huh?
PJ - hope your little one is behaving a bit better today. Got to love it when they get an arm or a leg up under your ribs and they bounce on your bladder every chance they get! Little monkeys. My little one is quite well behaved this pregnancy, so fingers crosseed it stays that way!
Meegzz - glad the chat with DP went well. I'm sure it's a weight off your mind. Slow at work today, huh? Not too much longer til you're on leave! I was at your cousin's place last week - finally figured out which other bubhubber she is  And you should TOTALLY get her to make you some nappies- she makes awesome nappies!!!
Lauren - I agree with Amanda in relation to the antenatal classes. I really enjoyed mine. Even though I'd done plenty of my own reading, and was fairly confident of what to expect, it was nice to hear the midwife talk about how the hospital does things, the options available, what the intervention rates were like, etc, etc. We probably won't be going this time around, given we went through it not that long ago, but because we're in a different state this time around I'll go and do a tour of the maternity ward and ask the midwife some questions then.
I know I've forgotten a million other people. I'll be back later to upload my belly pics though, so will try and catch up with everyone then!

V8 - Yeah we have always been good at communicating the last couple of weeks not so well but he obviously realised this - he is usually the greatest partner ever!!! We have spoken about the whole baby - mummy thing and he has decided he wants to be involved so asked if he could have baby - daddy bath time which is fine by me, it will give me a rest and him the bonding time he will need!!! I know he will be very hands on so that is a bonus for me too!
 im a bit scared of this whole size thing, i mean babies are small anyway but i picture this little thing and i have a feeling it is gonna be a lot bigger than i expect!!! Hopefully Cameron is smaller for you:fingerscrossed:.

Isaacs mummy - Glad your little man is feeling better!!!
I know she makes really good ones but i still dont know about whether i wanna use them haha we will soon see though i will try a few!!!
Cant wait to see your belly Pics!!!
Im doing house work tonight - boring!
V8 - i forgot to tell you your birth pool looks great now all you need is for our time to disappear so you can you it!!! By the way Joshy is a very nice looking boy he has beautiful eyes!!!
Cant wait to go home to get dinner cooking but im making beef strognoff yummy i love it!!!
Lauren - I havent booked in for classes well i did but i didnt pay my booking fee as there was so much else going on and i just forgot!!! I think they are probably a good idea for the whole maternity side, midwifes, hospital and information but i figure i should be ok without them as your body will take over!! I kinda regret not paying for it but i will just research as much as i can, talk to ppl and work it out when it happens . Im not too worried without them i just think they are probably a good thing for experience etc but i also think each to their own.

And the belly pics - not that exciting really!! I was going to put up some of the ones where my shirt is lifted up - but don't want to gross you girls out too much. So might leave the skin for another day

ametrine- its no probs at all. also with the feelings your feeling in your lower tummy, i have the exact same thing. the hospital has told me that its bub laying horisontal and putting pressure on my pelvis and sometimes pinching little nerves. also could be a bit of internal bruising. but the said to me that if im still getting the same feeling at 34-35 weeks i have to have another ultrasound to make sure bubs in the right position or if she might need help getting into the right position. just check with your midwives and see what they think. its always better to know. hth.
amanda+bec+meegz- i have been looking into them still, even though i dont know if should or not. they have told me that its $230 for 3 sessions i think it was. and also, they only do them mon-fri during the day at my hosp. so DP wouldnt be able to come because of work. and i cant really go to another hosp to do them because im brithing in a birth centre. so im in a little bit of a pickle... i dont really know what to do or where to ask. such a pain!

Ametrine- I can feel my little boy down low and often get the pressure low but im not worried as i guess his just sitting low down/ in a low position. Im sure its nothing to worry about but if ur worried ask ur midwife or OB.
Cassie- Frankston is much easyer then dandy, dont worry hun u will be right! the only thing about frankston is u have to watch ur lane position because that area has wide roads.
Meegzz- Aww ur DP sounds like a sweetie, gald u had a chat to him!
PrincessJasmine- sorry to hear ur little girl is hurting u! its nice to feel them move around tho.
Cassie, meegzz and princessjas- Dont forget we have to meet up soon.

Lauren $230, at that price pfft I'd be leaving it (just my opinion anyway). Going through the public hospital they are free. If you're birthing at a birth centre, I'm guessing your not having a birth with a lot of monitoring etc, Have you tried reading some home birth books? I've found them much more helpful than the clinical type books that explain everything in such a sterile way. I'm sure the classes are helful, but I liked the experience of learning on my own, and mum helped a lot in the first few weeks to. After all our mums have had to do it all with us!
I'm a little annoyed, looks like DP may have to find another job! Not good news, they want to change everyone from Permanent part time casual to full time. He may get holiday pay but the $250 a week pay cut isn't worth it. His pay goes down from $28p/hr to $19.80p/hr. With another kid on the way we'd be struggling to survive. I hope he can get a better deal becuase this is the worst possible time for him to be without a job.

I didn't realise you had to pay for your classes Lauren. I agree with PJ in this instance then - that seems like a lot of money especially if you're going through a birth centre. We went through the public system so our classes were free. I'd just be getting in contact with the birth centre and seeing if you can go and have a look at their facilities and speak to some of the midwives one weekend, if you haven't already. I'm sure that would put your mind somewhat at east. And as PJ said - read, read, read!!!
PJ - that sucks about your DP's job. Whilst security, holiday pay and sick pay are fantastic - a $250 a week paycut is huge. Especially with another little one on the way. This is the last thing you guys need right now, on top of everything else. :hugs: I hope it all gets sorted for you hun, you don't need this added stress to have to worry about.
Okay - as promised, here's the belly shots! These were taken on Friday - so at 27 weeks.

Sorry Bel, I forgot to ask before.
How are you feeling now? Hope you're okay and taking it nice and easy. And how's Sienna? Over her sickness?
Sienna is still teething not looking forward to having 2 of them go through it... again she was in my bed at 2am which i said i would never do, but for the sake of getting sleep and DH doesnt want me back in the delivery suite until at least 38 weeks...
The plan was to take it easy but with my husbands job he leave early and home late and gets called to canberra for meetings quite a bit.. so i try to take her out and make her tired.. just put her down for a nap..
We did swimming lessons today DH usually takes her on a saturday but she was sick so i did a make up class gee im sore.. carrying a almost 10 mth :smiliedance:baby and myself + a bub in the tummy is tiring.... How are you going?
Guys with out going back to look as im on a time frame with nap time.. who is the 1st due or one of... im the last so i have 12.5 weeks who has the least amount of time.. my brain cant work it out at the moment..
Just to think it may turn out to be a April bub thats next month
Just to add... birthing classes we paid around 250 or some thing like that but we got lunch etc... drinks... going private you pay for every thing but you get really good treatment too. Lauren my classes were so worth it.. showed me the room how to use all the equipment etc.. nothing much about bringing up a baby pre-pairing you for labour soo worth it...
Isacsmummy- you looked like you arched your back... ohhh bubba pic how cute

He's a supervisor/truck driver for Coles online, he manages drivers under him as well as doing deliveries. This is the longest he's held down a job since we've been together and he really enjoys the work. His boss is putting it all down on paper and we'll have a look at it and make a decision. At the moment it looks like he's better off jumping ship and working for Safeway (Woolies) online thats if they have any positions available. Apparently his tax rate wont change so that makes is even worse, for every $1000 he makes he looses about $360 in tax, none of which we see back at the end of the year as it goes towards debts he has to pay off.
IsaacsMummy, you have such small belly! But then again you look a lot slimmer than me.
I'm not sure who's first to go but I'm assuming they only have 8 weeks to go! Those of us due in the last week are really gonna be hanging out for our babies to arrive. I wonder who will be the last? I'm due 29th, Meegz is due 30th, and your're due the 31st aren't you Bel? I guess it could be either of us!
Bel1978
04-03-2008, 03:32 PM
Yes im the 31st dont count on me being last as sienna was induced early and i would expect the next to be as well im guessing the 21st may it will be the same trend that he choose for her..
Too bad about DH ..... I worked in the Transport industry for a while what a shame, as for tax my DH loses almost 50% but he is an Engineering manager so i cant complain too much as its keeping me home with bubs..

Haven't been about for a few days, so have had a few pages of posts to read and my mind has just gone blank:rolleyes: I can hardly remember anything I've just read!
Nothing exciting to report on my end, apart from the fact that I have another scan tomorrow morning (at 8.15am!) It's to check on bub's kidneys. The left one was slightly enlarged at my last scan so they just want to make sure everything is good now.
Regarding ante natal classes, I'm not going to any. The mw at my booking appointment thought that as I've had a few kids then I pretty much know what to expect. So if she reckons I'll be fine without then I'll just go without!
Better run and get dinner sorted out, otherwise I'll have the older two on my case for something to eat v.soon!
Take care ladies.

I thought it was a bit pricey too and also thought it would be free considering im going in as a public patient i was going to go in as a private patient, but if i got private, bub isnt covered so its no point, and i just have to fork out more and more money! your right, a birth with minimal monitoring and less stress. i have read up about home birthing as it will be quite similar, im guessing, except ill be in a hospital.
I didn't realise you had to pay for your classes Lauren. I agree with PJ in this instance then - that seems like a lot of money especially if you're going through a birth centre. i have had a look at their facilities and starting from this friday i have all my appointments with a birth centre midwife not one in the antenatal clinic. which i guess is where i will get majority of my info.

that sounds alright. ie seen all their equipment and the room and everything so its all good in that sense, i just wanted a lil more info about the birthing process which i guess i can ask my middies about.
im just soooo two sided about going. i think im going to just leave it though, i dont think its really worth the money considering i can just ask my midwives at my appointment.

Isaacsmummy (bec) Your tummy is so compact and lovely, no shame in showing the bare belly either, mine is covered in stretchies, so not showing any skin here! lol

Cassie- Frankston is much easier then dandy, dont worry hun u will be right! the only thing about frankston is u have to watch ur lane position because that area has wide roads.
Cassie, meegzz and princessjas- Dont forget we have to meet up soon.
My instructor is taking me to frankston on the 15th march so i get to know the intersection so will have to ask her about the lane position there, i hope it is easier there, i think i should get it cause i would of passed it the other day if i had of seen that 40 sign. Do u know how many test routes there are in frankston? i was thinkin of asking my instructor to show me on a melways all the ones they use so i can go with my hubby as well.
Kayla, Meegz and PJ- Yeah i was thinkin about the meet up just b4 i saw your post Kayla. So when r u all free? maybe next week?
Hi everyone else:wave:Hope your all well.
I am 30 weeks today!!:smiliedance:10 weeks left!

Hi Vanessa: I’m Miranda. I am 25 and first baby is due 2 May.
Meegzz: I didn’t realise it is a long weekend this weekend. My baby shower is on Sunday. That would explain why lots of people invited can’t come and said they are going away.
Princess Jasmine & Bel1978: I have 8 weeks to go, due 2nd May, so could even be end of April. The scary thing is my husband gets paid monthly at the end of the month, so there may potentially only be 1 more pay until bub is born, and we still have lots to get.
Hi to everyone else as well. Hope you are doing well.
My prenatal classes are $300 but you can either do 6 sessions in the evening. Or 2 weekend days. I am with NIB and get $77 back. Still a lot of gap, so not sure if worth it but too late now as it is booked etc.
That is great that Jeans West now have a maternity range, and cheap too. Wish they had it when I was getting maternity clothes, too late for me now. I bought a pair for $120 from a maternity store, and the second pair for $40 on ebay.
I don’t really have much new to talk about as I havn’t really ventured out of the house since my parking incident, and have had the flu. Tomorrow I am going out though.

Just tell me where and when, I'm busy next Tuesday and Friday, I don't mind meeting up on a weekend.
I'm picking up my bassinette this week, and will get the pram and bassinette, change table, and nappy bag next week. All I need now is a sling, electric steriliser and probably a breast pump. I don't worry too much about the little things, I'll probably do a bit more shopping with the baby grant money. Now I just have to figure out how to pay my midwife.

Mummajugs - What??? Jeans west has a 'yummy mummy' range!!! :smiliedance: They are like my favourite store and since being pregnant and a bit heavier i haven't even ventured in back there as it's too depressing cause i don't fit into anything. I wonder if that's at all JW stores, i'll have to check it out now sounds awesome!!
yeah they have ony just come in this season! DP spotted it and i was in shock. all my non maternity jeans are from there and soooo comfy. and now i have maternity as well. i was pretty stoked! they have alot of flowy 'maternity looking' tops aswel! im making sure i keep an eye out now, as being pregnant is apparently the new 'fashion statement' haha! funny that! theres so many celebs pregnant im not suprised!
PJ- i got my electric steriliser of ebay for $60, its a cherub one and it came with a free 'dummy thermometer' so its easier to check bubs temp! you should check them out. im pretty sure it came with 12months warrenty aswel! was a good deal! mums good at finding stuff like that!
well, ive been sleeping terrible the past 2 nights. trying to find a position that is comfy. very hard to do in a single bed while pregnant! i love being at DP's because his parents give up their bed for us and they sleep on blow up mattresses because its too hard to me to get in and out of a blow up mattress(it would look kinda funny too). but at the same time i feel bad. it will be great when the extension is done and our room is done, then we can set my big bed up and his parents can sleep in their bed! haha! other than that... bub has been getting the hicups real bad lately... is there anything i can do to prevent it? or does it just happen?
ummm, i rang centrelink yesterday and abused them for giving false info to third parties. which i was annoyed about and the lady was sooo rude to me... as they are! i believe her words were 'just suck it up and go and get a job' when i got off the phone i just broke down into tears.(damn hormones) but i was genuinely upset that i was treated so badly by people that claim to 'help us'. so over everything! haha.

Did you find out what work they want you to do? A holes...
Is anyone here actually sleeping well through the night? Its getting harder and harder to get a decent nights sleep, even with a body pillow on one side and a normal pillow on the other I still can't get comfortable, I'm constantly tossing and turning.
I just walked down to the shops, my back is now killing me. My tummy was starting to feel really heavy on the way home. I don't like it when its hot, I sweat so much down there it feels like I've wet myself (sorry TMI :o). I can't really blame DP for not wanting to go near there...:( I can count on two hands (with fingers to spare) the amount of times we've had sex in the last 12 months. I really feel like I'm missing out, but thats another topic for another thread. I can't wait for the baby to arrive so I can start loosing some weight in an attempt to get him interested again.

MJ - i hope your alright, hormones suck but it definately doesnt help when people are being nasty!! Im a sensitive person anyway so the hormones make me 100 times more sensitive to things haha. But i know how you feel it sucks that the people that help us are also the ones that make it so hard for us!
PJ - I know what you mean about the sweat haha not that im gonna go in to details  and feeling uncomforatable!! my DP is the opposite maybe we should swap for a while, he wants sex and i dont give it to him haha we havent had sex for over a month now but i am just not feeling sexy nor am i feeling like sex at all... i should put in an effort but even when we do i find it uncomfortable and i dont enjoy it as much as i did... weird!! I wish i had your sex drive i really do!!!

PJ- she didnt tell me the kind of work. i dont think i really gave her a chance. she was so rude so i was just being the same back, im sick of people walking over me! thats enough of that. when i find out what work they want me to do, i will let you know! oh and i know what u mean about the sweating and lack of sex. although im too buggered to even think about sex.
Meegz- hormones suck haha! but hey, not much i can do about it lol! :D:D

Once the teething stops she should sleep throught the night Bel. I was lucky in a way, DD started cutting teeth at 3 months and had most of her teeth by 12 months. But in saying that, we still have nights where we can't get her to sleep and she insists on getting up and playing.

bub has been getting the hicups real bad lately... is there anything i can do to prevent it? or does it just happen? It does just happen. My son was a big hiccuper too - it's an odd sensation isn't it?
Is anyone here actually sleeping well through the night? No, not at all. I'm getting heartburn at midnight and can only sleep on my right side, coupled with going to the bathroom a couple of times a night and a 3 year old who likes to wake me up at 5:30 and unfortunately sleep is a thing of the past
I had my OB appt today and bubs has moved to anterior head-down Woo-Hoo!!! Strangely though I am already measuring 35 weeks  which is no doubt why bubs was stuck on Friday and Saturday lying transverse and couldn't move - it was soooooo painful! DS was 8 pound 4 and it sounds like this bub may be bigger again - oh my....:o:p
Work is so hectic - I think I'm hitting the wall at the moment. I work about 45 hours a week and there is lots of walking, lots of carrying my computer bag and lots of corportate appointments. I'm working up until bubs comes - it's starting to slow me down now:yes:

Had my scan today and things went ok(ish)
The sonographer did the scan and measured Jelly Bean's head, abdomen, etc and then decided to get the consultant radiologist to have a look. She's decided that we have to have bub's kidneys checked again when she/he is 6 weeks old as there is still some renal dilation. This could be due to reflux, something else or everything could be fine when they check again. She said that they'll want to check again because if it's reflux and it's not dealt with when bub is small then she/he may need dialysis at some stage later on. So we'll just have to wait and see.
On the upside (or downside, depends on how you look at it lol!) JB is a good size, 2 ounces off of 4 pounds already and I still have ten weeks to go! The radiologist joked that I should start smoking lol! Don't worry, I stopped smoking 5.5 years ago and I don't plan on starting again any time soon lol! I'm a bit panicky about baby's size. Isaac was 8lbs 14ozs and I wondering if this bub is going to be bigger:eek:
Gonna move just now cause we're late with dinner tonight. Plus the fact that I feel like cr@p, think I'm getting the cold:rolleyes:

I'll just address a few things because, well, I've missed heaps and don't really have the concentration these days to go back and read everything! Goes in one ear, and out the other (well, you know what I mean).
With regards to sex, I basically just give in to get DH off my case. Although, a few weeks ago, he said I didn't look like I was enjoying it much and I said 'either would you if you were 7 months pregnant with a 100kg person on top of you'. Sideways, like spooning, works the best for us atm .
I haven't really had any issues sleeping, loving my sleep atm . I'm still able to partly lay on my tummy, although bubs boots me a few times, but get a full nights sleep (usually, unless I get cramp or need to wee) so I'm making the most of this blissful, uninterupted sleep I've been having.
Bel, sleeping will definately get better with age, although now you'll need your son to get through it all too. My DD started sleeping through from about 18 months and apart from the odd bad dream, she is a fantastic sleeper. Teething's awful for the poor little cherubs!
Kayla, sorry to hear that you're not feeling well and you have tonsilitis. Take care of yourself and I hope you get better quickly.
isaacsmammy, better to be safe than sorry with regards to having your baby's kidney's checked after birth, and hopefully it turns out to be nothing to worry about. I can't believe the radiologist joked with you about starting to smoke :shame:.
Well, I'm now also into my 3rd trimester :yelclap:and have changed the date on my ticker to 22nd because that's when I'm booked in for my c-section (I'll be 39w, 2d) so I guess that means I have about 11 weeks to go, WAHOO!
I'm feeling fat, frumpy, hot & tired. Life has been very hectic and am looking forward to the school holidays when things calm down a bit. Mind you I'll have a bored 4yo on my hand so we might be spending a bit of time at the park.
RM, I don't know how you do it. I'm exhausted just running around and looking after DD all day, no wonder you're so tired. Have you considered finishing up sooner than you thought you would. Wasn't it great news about Duchy? She did an awesome job!
I'm off for a check up tomorrow. The diabetes is still under control :smiliedance:so it will be interesting to see how big I'm measuring at. I have to take DD with me tomorrow, so she's pretty excited about hearing the heart beat.
Anyone else got really itchy boobs. Mine are driving me crazy. I feel like a deranged cat scratching at fleas or something. I've also discovered that it's very hard to get up off the ground these days. I ran a bath for DD yesterday and it took me ages to get back up again. Hubby can do baths from now on!
Anyhoo, better go. Hi to everyone else, I hope you're all well and your babies are behaving themselves.

go no sleep at all last night please tell me it gets better with age.. she was perfect until the teeth started coming through..
Can't promise anything !!! It was a 4.30 am start for us today - C's usually a great sleeper, but this morning there was this unholy scream that lasted for about 20 mins :(. I went with her to the spare bed, but she threw herself away from me, slide off the bed and lay on the floor on top of her stuffed puppy. I picked her back up and turned the light on (nothing was calming her, and I wondered if she was still asleep and didn't realise it was me) and she was on all fours and looked like a deranged little wild animal - pretty hearbreaking, and reminded me a little of what we'll all be going through soon when you've tried EVERYTHING and nothing seems to be working! Pumped her with some panadol, and ended up getting up with her before 5 and we pottered... still don't know what it was - I don't think teeth (she did cut 2 molars last week, so maybe the last one is on it's way too) and really don't think that the 2 spoons of baked beans that she had with dinner would have given her that much gas....can only hope we don't see a repeat tonight

Well even if not great news - it's a real positive that they are conscious of it, and it is something that they can keep a very close eye on - mjuch better than the great 'unknown' when issues arise. :fingerscrossed: it will fall into that absolutely nothing category
Anyway, off to bed  - just wanted to check in and say g'day

Hi Everyone,
My husband is watching a show on tv that doesn't interest me so thought I'd pop in an read the lastest.
PJ – I find the body pillow is worse than a normal pillow sometimes.
Kayla: Hope your throat is better soon
IsaacsMammy: Your lucky you know your bubs size. My ob doesn’t tell me anything. He told me the bub was head down, and I asked if he is facing the right way or not and the Dr said it is not important yet. At least he let me ask a few questions this time. The time before he was really unapproachable.
EmsMum: That would be great to know when your baby is born. Although one of my friends was booked in to have an elective caesarean, and ended up having her baby two days earlier cause he couldn’t wait to come. She still had a Caesar but classed as an emergency rather than elective in the end.
I have had a chocolate craving today, but havn't had much of it to eat. It started when I saw an ad on TV for a Lindt chocolate rabbit. I had one chocolate left in the box I got for Valentines so had that, then thought about making a chocolate cake. Tonight I had two Magnums, but still feel like I need more chocolate.

4.30 i could handle.... my nephew used to get night terrors.. sounds like you may have that on your hands.. he did grow out of it.. they are sleeping but having a bad dream, we used to have to talk to dom until he could say who you were and get his attention..... but if the tv was on he walked up and hit it once.. good luck
