:D
I guess we shall all be moving away from "when are you due?" soon.... *sigh* with a mixture of relief and joy, and a bit of sadness for those of us who won't be venturing into preggy land again! ( oh lordy how quickly we forget... I can't beleive I've actually had some sad feelings about not being preggy now, after how ill I was. )
Let's make a new little nook on bubhub for the March mums!
Hi Keara! I don't miss being pregnant at all... in fact I don't even remember what it feels like - I only remember the kicks in the ribs and the aches and pains!
I won't be venturing into preggy land anytime soon! :D
My DS was actually born in February (two weeks early!) so I posted in the Feb Mums group, but I'm going to hang around the March mums group too, since I spent nine months chatting to you all! :ecomcity: What a wonderful journey we have all had to get to where we are now. With no family or friends with kids to talk to, I don't know how I would have coped without bubhub! :hugs:
Hi! I'm 26 and am a first-time mum. DD was born on 09/03/06 and is wonderful but has been keeping me up the past couple of nights  Would love to chat and compare notes with other March mums!

Hello!
My bubba is one week old - was due 02/04/06 but came early on 27/03/06!!!
I'm so excited and enjoying the next stage in my life.
Having some breast feeding problems so i think i might go and check out the feeding section.
Hope all is well and looking forward to talking to you all soon!!
Hi hallie-berry!
Hope you enjoyed the first week with your new bubba!
Best of luck with the breastfeeding. I had a bit of a sore start breastfeeding my bubs but we seem to have got the hang of it now and I'm actually really enjoying it!

Hi everyone,
My little man Khyden was born on the 17 March (also my birthday which is lovely).
He is my sixth child and I am loving having a baby again. It is hard work but worth it. Look forward to chatting.

:ecomcity: I think now that all our March mamas have had their babes we should migrate! I've been popping in there to check on Nat, but now that Eliza has arrived I'll post here more often.
Hi ladies, can I please be a march mummy too? DD#2 Carla was born 2 and a half hours after the end of March, that's close enough isn't it?
We logged on at the wrong time today, as I have to go to school and pick up DD#1 very soon, just wanted to check if Nat was back, and she is.
OK, best go, chat soon.
Sally
:D Sally, me and Kimmy are in the same situation... our bubs came early and arrived in February! Can we hang around with the March mums as well?
ohh here we are :D :hugs:

I certainly hope all our mamas post here who were due in March, doesn't matter when babies arrived... We've been sharing this journey for so long :D I just hope we don't get too busy with our bubs to post in here!
OK I'm a bit slow.
Didn't realise there was a new thread already in action:o
Hope all are well and those babies are good too.
We don't have to weigh Kailah for 2 weeks now! We were on weekly weighs as she wasn't gaining enough weight but this week she gained 200grams! Pead is really happy with that but there is still the possibility that she is aslo lactose intolerant like Em was we just have to wait and see how things are going before we have to change anything. :fingerscrossed: it isn't an intolerance, it's hard finding things that DON"T have milk products in them and cooking is horrible, one thing for us another for her and cooking with soy....the measurement all have to be altered as it cooks different to normal milk.
:ecomcity: I'm off to cook dinner now before Kailah starts on me for another feed:D
I hope everyone doesn't mind me hanging around. I thought I could move on and start over with February, but I made such lovely online buddies with March mummies that I want to stay on and find out what's happening with mummies and babies here. :)
And thanks for the invitation Keara. I feel the same as Shannon, we've gotten to know the ups and downs with each other for 30-40 odd weeks and it'd be a shame to just disappear. :p
:) Eliza had her first explosive poopie today on DP he was holding her in bed and said "she farted sounded wet" then he looked at his t-shirt and yelled "help, help it's on me, get her off" lol he had been playing with her, and her nappy had gone wonky lol he is very anti nappy changing, i don't mind he gets everything ready for me and cleans up so it's good!
We have to go and get her weighed today as she lost more than 10% of her birth weight, the way she guzzles milk I hope shes put some on!
my milk came in a few days ago now ouch like rocks but all is good now :smiliedance:
Anyone else have the trouble of getting bubby to sleep in their own bed? I have to wait until Eliza is dead to the world or she just wakes up, had 3 nights now over the week where she has slept with me in my bed. shes quite clingy.
Hope everyone else is well xx:hugs:
so glad to be a mummy!!!!
Yay she gained 200g since wednesday!!!
My tummy & back are hurting today thank heavens for pain killers!!!
HAPPY EASTER GUYS!!!!
:) Eliza had her first explosive poopie today on DP
DD did the same thing to DH while he was changing her nappy. Got it all over him and even had to clean some off the walls!! I had no idea they could shoot it that far! We couldn't stop laughing after it happened!

Yey i found y'all.
Great to hear every one is doing well with there bubba's.
Congrats Nat on the arrival of Eliza, hope your healing ok and that everything is going well.:yelclap:
Cooper is just so adorable i just cry looking at him. Its amazing how much love you can have for them from the moment they are tucked away in your tummy.
Cooper has been doing those explosive farts/poo's aswell. I have been caught a few times changing his nappy and getting wizzed all over  , hes like a bloody fire hose out of control. It always happens when im reall tired in the middle of the night and i cant get the nappy on quick enough. Oh well its pretty funny though.
My CS scar has healed really well and there is no more pain at all. I have been sleeping on my belly which i was dying to do all pregnancy.
Any way i lookforward to catching up with everyone and comparing notes also.

Well, I have had such a busy week - We are packing and moving next week, we also have a friend here visiting from interstate so have not had much of a chance to post. Well Lily is still doing really well - she is pretty much sleeping through the night. The last 4 nights she has gone to bed at 9 and woken at 4 for a feed but that feed only takes her 20mins!!! i still feel so buggered cos we are so busy, so I cant wait till we are in the new place to enjoy her sleeping through properly. She is also on formula now as I was not getting enough milk and she was attached to my breast 24/7 and she started to loose some weight, so I thought bugger it - on to formula....I am soooo rapt that I was able to feed her for 4 weeks though cos with the other two they went straight onto the bottle...Now she is so chubby and has put on a stack of weight. Its funny how quickly things change though as one minute breadtfeeding was a dream and then the next it just wasn't happening. But I am really happy now and its nice that every now and then someone else can feed her too (especially DH as he was dying to do it!!) Well I am glad every one is doing well and hopefully will be able to post sooner rather than later.

 I love the poop stories. I have a cloth nappy under my lil mans tushie and I can hold it up to catch poop and wees. Thomas is fond of the nudey bum wee-and-try-to-get-mama! Hasn't yet, touch wood..... He farts and poops so loudly, Thunderpants is his middle name :p
Nat- Infants in our household have this thing called "pretend sleep" and they wake up whenever you put them down somewhere on their own. I tried my first bub in her own bassinette, and got the most cruddy nights sleep ever... I soon changed to co-sleeping ( you have to be careful, Thomas has his own spot on the bed and his own bedding, with the cot as a side car which he'll sleep in as he gets bigger.) I find it so much easier than dealing with that whole thing of putting bubby down and then having to hover and back pat or get them up and rock them off to sleep again. ( Not saying you should try it, just sharing my experience- it was like torture getting up every ten minutes to a baby I thought was asleep when I put her down). Some babes are happy to snooze anywhere, anytime.... my second child was that way, and unfortunately I haven't been able to get the others to follow his lead.
Kristy I'm glad you scar has healed noicely. Mine still hurts a bit at times.
I'm still bleeding on and off... really annoying, I had bugger all for the first two weeks after my c-section, and I thought maybe it was a side benefit of having had a c-section ( ya have to look for a silver lining!). I've still had less bleeding than after a normal birth, but still- it's annoying at 5 weeks.
I'm off to make dinner now, been down to the Vic market today with all my ferals and I picked up some yummy yummy things.
Have a Happy Easter :)
Keara I gave up last night and let her sleep with us she slept from 8-3 where I woke up going:confused: changed her tried to giver her some boob n she fell back asleep again till 7am:eek: :D
She has a cold she's snuffley poor baby dunno what to do for her she doesn't seem to bothered by it just sleeping a lot!
Had to go buy some new socks n vests for her today everything i have is to big for her well better go to hard to type one handed!
Happy Easter xx
Hi guys, hope all had a happy easter.
Was Em's first easter that she was allowed to eat chocolate (due to lactose intolerance that she recently grew out of) and she loved it! I was a little naughty and let her eat half a small egg at 8.30 am:eek: and then had to battle with her to stop asking for the rest! he he he!
She had a great day and by 3pm was bouncing off the walls!!!
Kailah has had an unsettled day but I am putting it down to how busy the last few days have been for us, visiting family, shopping and her being passed around... you guys know how it is.
Kailah has been chucking less, and drinking more. So hopefully all this will result in proper weight gain now! She is now 4.55kgs, at 5 weeks. She was 4.13 born so she is finally starting to put some on. But ther is still a question mark wether or not she is also lactose intolerant too. I REALLY hope she isn't:fingerscrossed:
Take care everyone and hope it's a CALM night for all;)
OK ladies this is a warning that the following post may contain TMI but I really need to vent!
After Laura was born I bled for four weeks. Then at six weeks I started taking the mini pill for contraception. And now at seven weeks I have gotten the worst period of my life - heavy heavy!! This event is SO unfair! I'm breastfeeding all the time... I'm not supposed to get a period for months! WHY ME?!?!? I blame the pill, cause that's the only thing that changed.
(If my silly smilies were working, you'd see one sad mummy... um, miss moderator can you fix this?)
Why are women put through so much... pregnancy is full of aches and pains, labour is the equivalent to torture, and from the onset of puberty we have to bleed every month until we get old and then have to suffer through menopause! Why can't men go through some of this?
<<Takes a big deep breath>>> Right, that's my vent over.
DH and I took Laura to Mossman Gorge yesterday for a picnic... beautiful weather despite forecast for rain. There were heaps of people there enjoying Easter Sunday in the outdoors. It was also good for me to get out of the house so I don't have to look at the growing pile of washing/ironing, etc!
Well, it's 4.20am and I'm really tired. See you in the morning!
Free to good home....WAIT... free to ANY home....:
1 husband!
Loves to be a couch potatoe.
Has wonderful selective hearing.
Loves everything done for him.
Hates the following...
cooking
washing
ironing
cleaning
mowing
changing nappies
feeding kids
These are his favourite places..
computer
couch
toilet!!!!!! (yep he's on there for at least5 half hur at a time! and is there as I type, hence the reason I had a chance to get on here!!!)
any takers?!?!?!

Hi Everyone, I am a first time Mum. My DS was born on the 23 March (nearly 4 wks). Just a quick question....he sleeps really well at night but we are lucky if we can get him down for one sleep during the day. I try rocking him to sleep, feeding him till he falls asleep on the breast and am currently trying the controlled cryinging technique, no matter what I do as soon as I put him in his cot he wakes up. Sometimes he will get 15mins but then is wide awake. Any advice??
Hmm let me think about your offer Kris....... .....:shame:
no fanks :D
as mine stuck on his x-box, and also hates changing nappies but after a short emotionl meltdown due to his lck of help, things have gotten better he even wipped her foo foo once I got the majority of poo off I let him do it and didn"t say a thing lol
He is feeling a little left out as he says well she only wants you as you feed her etc, I said well yanno when I am in the shower and she is crying pick her up!!! She just wants a cuddle sometimes......Hopefully thing get better just a major life change etc I know the adjustment will take time.
got some pictures of her with her eyes open today so when I get chance will post them on yahoo and try and make an avatar!!
I lost 14 kilos already 5 to go!!! My tummy looks better now than before I was pregnant althought you could park a small car in my belly button lol hope that shrinks!!!

 DM I have a cavernous belly button too..
Babyjoy- I'm so with you on how much we women go through. I didn't have a period for two years after my last child, due to breastfeeding... we use condoms for contraception. That's the burden my DH has to bear! I won't stuff around with my hormones while I'm feeding a baby. I've had many friends who done the mini pill or an implant and had hideous bleeding, either constant spotting or frequent heavy periods. I'm hoping for another dream run with Thomas, he's feeding well.
Excited Mum- You baby is waaaaay to wee for Controlled Crying. Even the advocates of this technique say it's not suitable for babes under six months. Have you tried a baby carrier? They sleep soundly and you can have a bit of peace during the day. Most babies have a time of day where they are needy and unsettled. ( Ours happens to be from midnight till 5 am:eek: ) The best thing you can do at that age is cuddle, comfort, feed, make sure bums are clean, and hang in there... It passes. Take bub for a walk in the sun, sing to him :D The first three months are like a '4th trimester' and babies are vey high needs during this time. He'll develop sleeping patterns over time as his brain and nervous system mature.
If it's getting to you or getting you down, make sure you enlist as much help as you can, so you get some time to look after yourself. :hugs:
Emysmum- errr, DH sounds delightful but I'll pass I don't want anymore kids! Seriously though, I'd be letting him know it's not ok to leave you to do everything. Yay about the choccy, I bet she enjoyed every moment. I do hope Kailah isn't lactose intolerant too. It's good that she's putting on some weight now.
I'm all choccyed out after the big easter egg hunt yesterday. We still have tons of it but I want to slim down a bit before my holiday... so I can fit into my summer gear again.
Best go fetchy some lunch- toodles.
Thanks guys......NOT!
Can some one just take him for a week????
Just tie him up and shove him in the shed?!?!?!? :devil6:
He has gone to the footy now, so I have done all my chores.. ... and am allowed to be on puter for a while:yelclap:
Em got WAY too much chocolate yesterday and can't possibly eat it all by herself...... looks like I'll have to help her...:p
mmmmmmmmmmmmm I'm off to eat some choccies!!!!!
Oh Keara, if only I had known! I'm going to have a chat to my GP about it when I see her next (Laura's got her first immunisation shots on April 26) because I don't want these horrible periods. Maybe I should stop taking it and go back to condoms. I've never had heavy bleeding before, it honestly feels like the day after labour! It's so not fair!
Excitedmum... I absolutely agree with Keara. Controlled crying at such a young age cannot be good for baby. They get so distressed so easily and really need a lot of love, hugs, warmth, hear your heartbeat, feel your touch, hear your soothing voice, etc. It takes time for a baby to learn to sleep deeply. I suggest that when you do rock him to sleep in your arms, make certain he is in a deep sleep before putting him in the cot. This can take more than 20mins. Another suggestion is to try warming up the cot with a heat pack first so he goes from your warm chest, to a warm bed.
And I definitely recommend a baby carrier. I got one when Laura was about four weeks and it has been a godsend. She falls asleep really easily in it, because of all the rocking and rolling as I'm doing the housework. Last week I even vacuumed the whole house and she slept in the baby carrier the whole time! I recommend the Baby Bjorn one but there are lots of different ones on the market and some mums prefer the slings. Go to a baby store and try them all out to see which one is more comfy for you.
Nat and Kris... I can totally sympathise. For the first month, it was like DH didn't know how to adjust to having this baby in the house and didn't consider changing his routine to fit her in. I had quite a few crying sessions where I felt so overwhelmed and totally neglected by him, that he finally clicked and now takes on a lot of the responsibility. He has now figured out that his day doesn't end when he comes home from work. In a way I felt a bit sorry for him. So much attention goes to the mother and child, and no one really considers how the father copes.
Kris, good to hear Kailah is going well. If it's any consolation, Laura was only 4.2kg at five weeks of age, so your bub is doing great!
Shannon, wasn't Laura small when she was born?
I mean, Kailah was 4.13kg born:eek:
So she is 5 weeks now and is 4.55kg.
But I am happy with her eating this week, better than before and she hasn't had many real big chucks so I am happy with that too.
I just know that if I dare say anything to DH it will cause world war 7! (yep we've had 3 through to 6! :o )
I must think of some way to tell him gently that he needs to GET OFF HIS TOOSH AND HELP ME!!!! AARRGGG!!!!
Sorry girls just a big whinger today!
put some more pics on yahoo:thumbsup:
Kris, sorry, I didn't factor in Kailah's birth weight... I was just looking at her age and Laura's age. It's good she is feeding well now.

OMG I think Ive turned into an easter egg....... I cant help myself.... and i hate it cause Cooper wants choccy milk every 2 hours at night now !!!
We had a huge Easter with all the inlaws here, its been nice but it making me very tired.
Cooper has been feeding every 3-4 hours most days and nights which i think is ok. Im going to weigh him tomorrow and see how much hes put on. I was worried a bit that he wasn't satisfied each feed but i think he just wants more cause of the choccy. What formula's do you all use , which is the best?
I was thinking of having that injection for contraception but i think it will be to much of a hassle, especially if those are the side effects of it. Whos got the time or energy for sex at the moment any how..... NOT ME!! plus the husband has been all ****y today cause hes tired.... I cant complain to much about him cause he has been doing heaps around the house and he helps out as much as he can with Cooper.
Hope your feeling better babyjoy
Can someone please tell me about this Yahoo site , how do i get to look at it?
hope everyones well
talk soon

Tks Keara & Babyjoy. Control crying only happened once....I didn't have a baby to hear him get that upset. As a 1st time mum u get soooooo much advice, it gets very confusing. I am slowly starting to work out what is the best for me and my baby (and DH when I can find time). I have definately found nursing him to sleep the best and I think I will stick with that.
My DH also gets upset as DS only seems to settle with me. I have assured him this will change as DS gets older.
Tks for the advice on the sling will go to ebay right now.
Eliza has a little nappy rash poor thing I change her all the time too
Also what does cradle cap look like and how do they get it? Eliza has like some bumps through her hair eww lol
I read somewhere huggies wet wipes can sometime cause nappy rash so not buying any more think I will use cotton balls N water or J&J wipes
She was so good today I put her in her rocker while I showered cleaned the bathroom/kitchen N fixed the bedroom AND got the washing on!
I am healing well and get bored if I don't do something around the place lol DB is doing all the cooking
Well after this feed might put my face on and take her for a walk in her pram
And she has a sniffle little boogers yuck I hate that part of parenting!!
I love how she does a side smile after a feed n falls asleep sooo cute!
hmm she rolled on to her side on the change table yesterday bit of a shock thought rolling came later?
Also is it normal for babys to like peel? she is nearly finished shedding her skin I was guessing all babies do this as they are water logged at birth and are drying out...been putting olive oil N shea butter on her :D
yahoo group kirsty is
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/march_mummies/
Kris cute pictures she looks a lot like daddy eh!
I added two more!
laters girls xx
Nat... peeling is normal aspecially if they are over due/ as I say over cooked. Kailah was like a snake! She was ver peely!!!
Cradle cap looks like dry bumps on the3 skin. Em had it on her head and Kailah has started to get it on her eyebrows which is also common. I don't know what causes it I think it's just one of those things. And it's also very common for newborns to get snuffly or little colds soon after they are born, it's their body's way of adjusting to the outside world and all the dust and stuff they don't breathe in there.
Kristy, I think I'm the only one not Bfeeding (I have crappy nipples and KAILAH couldn't feed off me properly)
I use Heinz as it's the cheapest. They are all basically the same except for S26 which has higher iron content and tends to constipate alot of babies. All the formulas are very similar, all are good to use, the only real difference is the price. I pay 10.95 a tin and some are as expensive as 24 a tin!!! If it's the same why pay more?!!??
Gotta go both my girls are crying for food!!!!:chef:
Nat, I recommend putting olive oil or natural baby oil (not mineral oil) in the bath. Plain water dries out the skin. And the MCHN said not to use soap, baby bath or powder. I don't know for how long. I guess till they start playing with dirt :p
Matthias also got a really bad rash. I don't know if I ever want to share the horror pics though. It was a combi of sensative skin, baby wipes, BabyLove nappies (wasn't dry enough) and thrush.
DH freaks when he gets an explosive nappy or bub starts weeing or pooping mid change. I have to laugh and help because I keep telling him he has to prepare everything first but he still hasn't got that drilled. And for someone who says he's got quick hands, he operates slower than a snail.
Kris, that's terrible that your husband is being so lazy and uninvolved. I think my responses to the health nurse today would have been very different if my partner was like that. She would have been signing me up for PND therapy. I hope he gets his act together. My DH loves his Xbox, but does almost everything around the house and takes bub when I'm at wits end, so I really can't complain. Matthias brings up a lot, but he's still gaining a lot of weight so the nurse isn't concerned. It's distressing though because I'm changing his bibs and his clothes multiple times a day and the feeds are so long because he'll want to feed again after he's chucked. I hope it settles as he gets older. Some people have been saying it's because their close valve hasn't fully developed yet.
Today's visit - 59cm (L) 40.3 (HC) 6180g
The premanantly attached to the boob feeling isn't as depressing when you realise it's not in vain. I really don't know if I'll last more than six months though. Too much sleep depravation. I'm taking it one week at a time and assessing it. :(
Hope everyone enjoyed their Easter. I got plenty of choc. I haven't had the sick of choc feeling in years.

:smiliedance: OMG! I just got my first big huge 'real' smile :smiliedance:
Followed up with a couple of sweet little cooing noises **sigh** I'm in love!
I had just arrived home from meeting Sally and her lovely children (poor DD wet herself and I had to cut their playtime short), and was cuddling Thomas when his lil face just lit up with a huge smile. My day is made! And I'll be working hard to get more once he's finished his feed.
Kimmy the 24 hour a day boobie thing will setlle by 8 to 12 weeks, they get much better at draining the breast and more interested in the world around them. Treat yourself to a junk mag or a new book to read for those days when all you do is feed. BF can be hard the first time around- I had blistery sore nipples and both of us were unhappy at feed times for the first 6 or 8 weeks. Then one morning she looked up mid feed and grinned at me, milk drool everywhere and that made it all worth it for me.
Nat, peel is normal, even my undercooked boy peeled a bit. I get a whole heap of little face washers ( find them v.cheap at Best and Less- if you have that in Sydney) and just use warm water for wiping bottoms. Castor oil and zinc cream is great for clearing up a nasty skin rash. Especially the sort where skin integrity has been compromised. Spread it on noice and thick. (If there's thrush present, treat that first with an apropriate cream. )
I'm gonna go now before I start to sound too bossy lol (I hated anyone telling me anything about my brand new babe, so tell me to shut up if I sound like a nosey old matron).

by the way anyone got yahoo messenger? I just downloaded it (msn isn't working) and I have no one to chat to :crying:
Nat, Laura peeled a lot as well and she was two weeks early. I used baby oil in the bath and also massaged her with a blend I made myself (see below) and it cleared up after about a week. Regarding nappy rash, as Kimmy mentioned, Babylove nappies were a big no-no and so are wipes of any kind. I use tissues and a pump pack of sorbelene now, bit easier to manage on the change table than water and I've had no problems with her little toosh. I also apply a thin layer of sudocrem (zinc cream) which is fantastic stuff in humid weather. I found that if it's applied thick it doesn't work... keeps in more moisture in the nappy. I had a midwife suggest wetting cotton wool balls, putting them in a sealed sandwich bag in the fridge and then taking them with you in the nappy bag when you go out. It's a good idea, but I haven't tried it yet.
Laura is in cloth nappies during the day (terry flats). I bought a couple of fitted all-in-one nappies on ebay, so I hope they are handy. I would eventually like to buy more fitted nappies and not use disposables at all. It's Real Nappy Week next week (I think) and I'm going to check out a shopping centre display on Monday to see what they're like.
YAY! Keara got her first big smile! Isn't it wonderful? :D
I posted the following in another thread, but it got lost in the maze of bubhub, so I thought I'd post it here and maybe some mummies will find it useful.
These are all natural remedies for common ailments in babies, using aromatherapy and essential oils.
For newborn babies only these essential oils are recommended... others can be harmful. (Other oils I have mentioned further on are okay once baby is two months old.)
* Chamomile Roman
* Chamomile German
* Lavender
* Yarrow
* Dill
To treat various ailments use either a diffuser in the baby's room (essential oil must be diluted in water not used on its own), or just a bowl of steaming water on the floor with one drop of the essential oil.
For Nappy Rash, try one drop of lavender and one drop of chamomile german in warm water, and use to wash baby's bum with cotton wool. You can also add a drop of essential oil to one dessertspoon of barrier cream (mix well).
For Cradle Cap, dilute one drop of eucalyptus lemon oil and one drop of geranium oil in two tablespoons of almond oil (mix well).
Baby massage oil formula: one drop chamomile roman, one drop of lavender and one drop of geranium, diluted in 30ml of sweet almond oil. My daughter Laura LOVES this blend and it makes her feel so soft afterwards!
For Colic, rub baby's tummy and back with massage oil made of one drop of dill essential oil diluted in 15ml of sweet almond oil.
Here are four other massage formulas for fretful babies:
* 3 drops of Chamomile Roman and 4 drops of Lavender
* 4 drops of chamomile roman and 3 drops of geranium
* 7 drops of tangerine oil and 2 drops of chamomile roman
* 7 drops of mandarin oil and 2 drops of chamomile roman
All of the above should be diluted in 30ml of sweet almond oil.
For coughs and colds: Mix together 10 drops each of eucalyptus oil, tea tree oil and lavender oil. Then place three drops of this blend in a diffuser or hot steam bowl of water in baby's room. You can also place two drops on a piece of cotton wool and place it under the edge of the pillow. I put one drop of lavender oil on cotton wool and place it at the end of Laura's bassinet under the sheet to help her sleep better.
The above mixture can also be used in a massage oil using three drops of the blend and 12ml of vegetable oil... massage over bub's back and chest. It is recommended that the above blend not be used for more than one week... obviously if your child is still sick, take them to the doctor!
And here's one I used throughout my pregnancy for stretch marks... worked like a charm as I haven't got one mark! In 45ml of sweet almond oil, mix in 7 drops of lavender oil and 6 drops of tangerine oil... it smells lovely too!
This massage oil I used during labour which smells fabulous and feels really nice: In 30ml of vegetable oil or almond oil, mix in 8 drops of lavender, 8 drops of rose, 8 drops of geranium and 8 drops of chamomile roman. It's also good as a back rub!
*** Please note that almond oil should not be used on a baby if you think they may have a peanut allergy or are susceptible to a nut allergy. Also, don't worry too much about whether you use chamomile roman or german. The german one has a green colour to it, which may show up on your skin, but I've found that because it's used in small quantities you don't see it at all, it just changes the colour of the oil blend. ***
I've got heaps of other recipes, just PM me if you're looking for something specific!
Also posted a few new pics on yahoo site!
by the way anyone got yahoo messenger? I just downloaded it (msn isn't working) and I have no one to chat to :crying:
Hi Keara - I have Messenger so feel free to add me if you wanna chat! Congrats on the smile by the way. DD has given me 3 smiles so far although they seem to be random at the moment. Wish I could make her smile because they are so cute. I love the little gummy grin!!
Sorry, don't have Yahoo, only MSN (and I thought I was paying attention!) ...apparently I don't take in important details when I need sleep!!
Great thanks for that Shannon. Will have to give some of those a try. I have used baby love nappies on Kailah and have had no problem at all. But mostly use huggies.
Kailah is so close to giggly I'm sure of it. I did the groceries this morning and left DH with both girls when I came back, Kailah must of heard my voice and started to cry so I went over to her bassinette and she looked straight at me and had a really big smile then she started opening her mouth while smiling and moving her head and making a little sound. It was so cute. She was trying so hard to giggle but nothing was coming out! Made me laugh!
She has been an angel the last 2 days. Think she is having her growth spurt early, she wants to feed every 3 hrs and sleeps alot more.
And this arvo she drank 165 mls and has managed to keep most of it down!:fingerscrossed: it stays that way!
Jeepers, this site has been busy the last copla days - ive been too busy packing to log on.
Kris - My bubbas on Karicare Gold - i used s26 with my son but had heaps of dramas for a few weeks the swapped to karicare gold and it was great - so lily is straight on that now and loves it aswell. Lily has 150ml - she is a little piggy!!!
nat - I am addicted to Paw Paw cream (in health food aisle of supermarket - bright red jar) I have never ever before in my life found a cream that works wonders on sore little bums..Iwas very skeptical at first but I swear by it now.
I was told by my midwife not to use oils on baby's skin as it blocks the pores and bubs cannot sweat properly and therefore overheat - so I was using sorbelene on all lily's dry spots and it healed quickly (another bit of advice you can decide what to do with...lol)
I was using huggies but babylove were on special so I got a pack of those and Lily wets through them in a flash - especially now she is nearly sleeping through, but she didn't leak in the huggies, so? I will stick to huggies till she is a bit older and see what happens.
Lily is also smiling sooo much and it makes my heart melt... I stopped breast feeding a week ago and it makes my boobies leak - which cracks me up!! She is also making little sounds and it makes me not want her to get any bigger at all!
Well, that enough of me chatting, have a good night!!
Whoa, it just took me half an hour to (skim) catch up on all the posts!
Thanx Keara for a luverly day, Courtney is asking when can we see them again Mum? already. She had dancing this afternoon, so was very tired and grumpy after dinner.
As for Carla, what a dream baby. I had two that were near impossible to settle, but Carla sleeps about 20 hours a day, poos after every feed, burps (sometimes) and goes back to sleep. I am amazed. :D Hope it stays this way. :fingerscrossed:
She is putting on weight, now 7lb 10oz, still smaller than my others were at birth! I guess I am a more relaxed mummy this time around, so that prolly makes a difference too.
Looking forward to sharing more of this journey with you ladies.
By the way Keara I have yahoo messenger, but I haven't used it before
Hmm I don't have yahoo messenger only msn one :D
Eliza has been sooo good today she was soo grizzley last night I think it was because she ate to much and got wind as she did some tremendous farts this morning before tearing herself some new pants DP was very amused and highly impressed with his daughters bottom music  He said he was glad another little bit of him was shining through her lol I swear I am not related to this baby she doesn't look like me she behaves so well (apart from the farting) lol
I took her up to my old workplace today and yep she cried in everyone's arms that held her and promptly stopped as soon as she was handed back to me and then fell fast asleep! they all commented that they couldn't believe I was already out and about...Hello isn't this normal? I mean she is 11 days old I am meant to be staying inside? I have been taking myself and her out for morning walks and DP and I did a 2km walk the other day was wonderful to be out together having time to be alone not inside, out getting fresh air and she gets a stroll in the pram lol
DP is in the good books he said to me last night he thinks I am so beautiful and I look amazing considering I had major surgery 11 days ago and he can't believe how quickly I have bounced back considering what I was like prior to having her and then the actual birth he thought I was going to be housebound for a month or more!
And I was saying this morning how I was going to give her a bath today and he said would I mind doing her baths in the evening so we can do them together he wants to be a part of it...He is slowly getting more comfy with her which is great I know he's feeling a little left out poor guy I try hard to make him involved with it all, but there is only so much he can/wants to do!
jeez I have gone back to normal apart from cooking dinner that is I can't be bothered I made food before I went to hospital and we have some frozen meals etc
(as you can tell Eliza is asleep), so I am seriously :ecomcity: :ecomcity: lol
I am going to have lunch with DP's work mates next monday I think hopefully in the park should be fun, I worry about Eliza thought being passed around as she is still so little and screams so much when others hold her, and seeing as how she rarely cries it breaks my heart when I see that!
I filled out all the forms today OMG nightmare!
and we have our first appt at the childhood centre next week for her weigh in and measurements and also meet other mums apparently although I am confuddled I thought I had to go when she was 6 weeks old she'll only be close to 3 weeks when I take her might call them and check that lol
whoo I lost some more weight I gained 19 kilos when preg shock horror think most of it was fluid lol and only had 5 to go but today it's 4 but hey I am sure that 1 kilo will come and go OK me going now I know we all don't have much time.
I appreciate anyone who comes here and posts with a newborn as I now know how time consuming it all is and when we do have spare time we have other things to do in it! Can't imagine what it is like for you guys that have 3 children and Keara you with 4! so Kudos to you guys xxx
OK her bum is wiggling she'll be waking up to attend the milk bar
love to you all xxx

LOL DM you should be at home girl! I copped so much for being out at a big party 8 days after giving birth. And then again for attending another party the following week, and hosting a BBQ that same weekend. We all should be tucked up in bed 'resting' ya know!
Congrats to Eliza on her tremendous farts! She and my boy Thunderpants should get together some time and make booodiful bum music.
I love the post baby weight drop.... it's soooo fast, and then if you are breastfeeding as well you can eat like your a trainee sumo wrestler and not gain a pound!
I'm TIRED today... I can honestly say I haven't felt sleep deprived since I had Thomas, except for today! DH had to start at 7am ( unprecedented stuff in this house, we have our own business and refuse to start so early) to help the brickee doing some work out back. I had to get DD and DS ready for school/Kinder, make lunches, dress the two younger ones and me ( lol I very nearly forgot to)... and be out the door to have DS at kinder for the 8.30am start.
I got home and started in on the pile of housework building up, between feeds and cuddles and going back for the kindy pick up  Dinner is cooking right now and I'm BUGGERED..... I love my hubby  I never realised how much his help keeps me sane, not to mention well rested!
I'm off :D
Keara, he's a lot better now but around 3-5 weeks he went through a rapid growth spurt and he was on me every 1.5-2 hours. The last week he's been three hours though and I'm really appreciating the extra rest. Not to mention the smiles and coos. It really does take that negative feeling away. :D Right now he's asleep in his sack. Although he's still having a lot of spit up. I think I really have to try not to move him for at least five minutes after the feed. Trouble with that is if I wait too long to burp him, he ends up with hiccups. :p
Shannon, where do you get your essential oils from? A health food shop? I've never been able to find anything but eucalyptus and tea tree at the supermarket or chemist.
Please can anyone recommend a natural or easy method to get rid of oral thrush? I tried Daktarin for a week when the health nurse first said he had it and nothing changed (his tongue was still white) so I gave up. He would be so restless after I fed him and then rubbed that stuff in his mouth. I was using it before feeds on my nipples as well. And I still wash everything with a cup of vinegar for every load. And I spray my bras with a vinegar solution before I throw them in. We went to the health nurse again yesterday, and she said he still had it. Maybe I should get the GP to look at it or test it or something. When I took him for his six week GP check, she checked his mouth for thrush and didn't say he had it. Going for immunisations next week, so I'll make sure to ask.
Kimmy, just a thought... if a baby is drinking milk all day they're bound to have a white tongue! Maybe the midwife is wrong. I would check with the GP again to be sure.
I hope I'm allowed to say this, but I highly recommend New Directions for essential oils and associated products. They are really cheap but top quality and the range of products is HUGE! Go to www.newdirections.com.au or for Sydney mums, the head office is in Marrickville (not sure if you can buy goods there or not).
I've purchased off them twice now with no problems, and saved a fortune in the process when I've compared the cost of oils in the shops.
Kimmy, I have heard the daktarin is the best thing to use for thrush. You have to be diligent in treating yourself and Matthias before any contact, or it just gets passed back and forth. It's a strong bug, difficult to kill, and can take weeks. I hope you have some luck getting rid of it soon.
Some people are so funny, telling you to stay in bed etc. I can understand maybe after a c-section, take it easy for a while, but things have changed, we don't get to stay in hospital for 2 weeks like our mothers did. The washing still piles up and the food runs out if you don't go back to normal :p
Wow Nat you are doing really well losing the baby weight. Wish I had 4kg to go, mine is more like 8kg to go, and I thought I was doing well, having lost 12 already! I don't think Easter is helping though ;)
My ankles still swell up every day, what about yours Nat? I'm unsure if I should be drinking more water or dandelion tea, or something else. Anyone got some hints on getting rid of fluid (breastfeeding friendly of course)?
My little one is sleeping on me here, so I must put her down. The only restless night we had so far was after a day spent with rellies, and Carla was held while she slept :shame: - never again!
Nite ladies.
Sally my fluid retention has gone completly my ankles look even thinner than I remember them, but been so long since they were normal lol
Eliza slept through the WHOLE night last night  10.30pm-6am wow my milk had gone everywhere my breast pads were soaked my bra soaked + t-shirt wow didn't realise how much she was drinking lol
laters girls xx
I'll keep using the Daktrain for now and I'll be sure to mention it to the GP when I take him on Tuesday. :)
Thanks for the link on essential oils, Shannon. I'll check it out. Had a bumpy start to the day. He went thru his clothes twice. Once at 5 am and a runny poo at 9 am. I tell you, I can't believe how much washing I do. DH wears a lot of clothes with work, gym and going out, I used to do at least three loads a week but now I'm doing a load a day and the baskets still overflowing. :p And I can't do more than that because the weather is so unreliable now.
Just had my grandparents here. They couldn't get over how big he's gotten. My brother will have missed his small stage entirely. Oh well, at least he'll be well into the interactive stage :D
Hope all the mummies and babies are doing well. Does anyone else seem to have a never ending tummy ache? I have remember to ask the GP to do a swab and pee test, because I don't think everything's all good down there yet...
Lily slept from 7.30pm last night all the way to 4.30am!!!! I felt great but then had to pack so much stuff today and cleaning the house as we are moving 2morrow - so she must have known I would be having a busy day. Well, wont be posting for a few days as I have to wait for broadband to be activated at new house....lotsa of love to bubs and mums :hugs:
Well what a night we had last night!
Kailah cried from 4.30-10.30! I was exhausted!
And what made it worse was when Dh came home from work he said to me "Why don't you go get a full time job and I'll sit at home" ggrrrrrrrrr!
I said "you wouldn't last a week!" he said "how hard can it be?" GGRRRRR!
he has no idea to half the stuff I do!
Why do men think its so easy to raise children and manage a house and work! Yep I have to return to work soon as money will soon be getting very tight. So it will be early mornings with the girls, all dat with them, cleaning cooking etc then off to work late arvo only to return at 2am and then have a couple hrs sleep and do it all again! Like to see him do it for a week! He'd die for sure!
She is much happier tho today...thankfully.
She has just been sleeping and only waking for a feed then back asleep. Probably making up for yesterday.
Oh and she has started talking!! well you know cooing and gahing and all that.
so cute!
Nat I have no baby weight left!:smiliedance: I lost the final kilo over a week ago!
it literally fell off me! And I only bf for a week! go figuer. re: fluid, maybe try to drink a bit more water...i know it helped while pg so maybe the same rules apply???
hugs and kisses to all the babies!

Hi Ladies & Babies.....
How is everyone? Have been M.I.A for a while....my computer only likes to turn on evry couple of days!:banghead: Ollie has had a rough couple of days ( I won't even mention the nights!!) but seems to be happier now. I couldn't put him down for longer than 5 mins or he would cry, and my 7 year old is saying "why don't u want to play with me?" It's difficult playing Army men when nursing a baby!! Thank god for dvd's, it's the only thing we can do together at the moment! Everyone's bubs are so cute!!! I have been trying to post a picture but my computer likes to do it's own thing and won't let me add a picture!! Must go ...DH wants to check his mail and i'm being a computer hog!
See ya , Mel
whoo I think I have baby blues : (
but I actually think it has more to do with the fact I feel like nothing has changed around here in regards to housework...I have been home a week and just continued doing things as usual...I thought DP would just do things but I have to ask and I hate having to ask for help at anytime, I know I need to right now..he will do things but still sometimes he grumbles as he had a hard day at work he does it like empty the dishwasher but moans the whole time. So it puts me off asking him and then I spend ages :crying: then he apoligises.
I had a bad nights sleep last night Eliza was good she slept but I had one of those nights where I can't stop thinking...
 I just changed Eliza's pooey nappy n shes gone again lol this has happened 3 time in like 12 hours I need more nappies!!
going to write a shopping list DP can do it tomorrow he said he would before I gave birth see how he goes tomorrow!
I have a lot of pain just above my scar anyone else had that? the midwife at the hospital told me sounds like I have pulled a muscle doing to much..sounds about right!
ok gotta change miss poo bum xx
Kris, I can't believe your husband said that. You'd think second time around he'd know better by now. :p Thankfully my DH might think I do nothing all day and when he's tired from work he gets home and I pass bub onto him, but he doesn't complain. :hugs: I hope he wises up soon.
Nat, I hope the blues pass for you. I went through a gloomy patch there where I was sleep deprived and my nerves were shot, but thankfully he's settled better now and going longer between feeds (still 3 hrs). I don't have many days where all I'm doinging is feeding and settling. I can actually go out, or do washing and home office work and feel a sense of accomplishment. :)
Kailah giggled last night for the first time!
It was so cute! She was smiling so much and giggling a little. She is so beautiful when she smiles! Will have to put a smily pic up when I get a chance to put them on puter!
I really can't believe "normal" development, it blows me away!
Em didn't smile till 5 weeks and was much older before she could lift her head as much as Kailah! I just can't believe it when I compare the 2 , ther is no comparison!
I am just happy that she is healthy and happy (besides the BIG spews, which she did one just before all over me, her the floor, everywhere!! lol)
Have a good weekend girls!
Kris that's so cute! I can't wait for Eliza to start doing things like that yet I will miss her being so tiny and growing up!
Even DP has said can we keep her this size!
Well we gave miss poo bum a bath this morning whewy she really needed it lol so we gave her a lovely bath she loved it as usual, wrapped her in her towel and she didn't cry which was a new thing usually she screams when we take her out, took her to the bedroom and DP layed her on his chest, he had his t-shirt on and I rubbed some shea butter into her skin then he turned her over for me so I could rub the cream on her tummy etc and then he screamed "hey stop get her off me" I am like what and picked her up and she had done this huge wee on him right on his *cough you know whatsits* OMG I laughed soooo much she was kicking her legs ha ha so we took her back and dunked her butt in the water again lol and he was in the shower before you could count to 5
ah too funny I have written him a shopping list and told him I am not coming I need to rest, the hospital have told me I am doing to much  like talking to a brick wall lol so Eliza is asleep right now she had a good night so did I went to bed at 7.30pm slept soo well getting her to sleep in the cradle slowly which is great I cuddled a blanket and also slept her on it so it smells like us and she feels more safe.
My scar is soooo sore I hate it! it has two red spots on it where they stitches have come out but on the inside they are still there as I can see them horrible I hope it heals up quickly...
Eghh the MIL I think wants to visit this weekend I know she has a good heart etc but I hate handing Eliza over to her as all she does is scream until she is handed back to me and she is there jigging her around yapping on in Turkish trying to shushh her :( + she is full of advice and what not I just don't want to deal with it... I don't want to share my baby with her yet!
OK I am yapping

Aha! I got msn to work now yay :D had to change my account though. New addy is crimsonregret_72@hotmail.com if anyone wants to :ecomcity:
Kris, how cute it must be to hear Kailah giggle- I can't wait to hear Thomas giggle, he starts to then stops right away, like he's gotten a fright! I can relate to enjoying normal development..... thus far Thomas is nothing like my other son, I've checked him all over for signs that the RCH said my other son has that point to a rare genetic syndrome ( I am yet to take him for the testing). I watch his eye contact and it's normal and he's so much more demanding....... so hopefully he won't have similar problems.
DM I hope you are feeling better and stop racing around doing so much! Your scar won't heal noicely if you don't rest enough. No heavy lifting or heavy housework :shame: Tell DH Eliza wizzed on him cos he's not doing enuff to help you ;) I completely forgot to go for my 6 week appointment yesterday... But I doubt if I need it... my scar is fine and I have no more aches in my belly.
I best go, have to pick up DD from a birthday party..... You know, this is when kids get expensive. She's got another party next weekend and another next month already. Add it up and your buying about a dozen gifts, cards etc throughout the year, and then the cost of your own childs party. ( They want a cake for school/kinder and maybe lollie bags if you aren't having a big party, plus the cake for the birthday party itself.....) It's all good fun though.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Stacey sounds like makayla is jealous! but I have no solutions!
I have already said this on the sleeping thread, but thought I'd chat to my mummy budies too...:D Anyone else's baby like to sleep on their tummies? I let Eliza sleep like that but I worry so much abouts SIDS
DP announced he is going to babies galore today :smiliedance: I am staying home and the MIL is coming this afternoon  DP warned her yesterday not to interfere to much with the baby, leave me alone and the house alone lol apparently she got upset but she is a very intense woman!
I am dying for a shower I have a cold and need the hot water on my muscles!!
Hope you are well xx:hugs:

hello all, mind if I join in too..? My computer is soooo v slow and it takes a while to find someone to chat to! My lovely little one was born 28th Feb, 5 days early and is a dream....anyone having probs helping Dad? Think I may be being a slight control friek.....
Well MIL came to vist yesterday she turned up with one of those little suitcases on wheels....already I was nervous she is a serious rubbish dumper so out came the 4 tubs of cottage cheese....hmmm takes us 2 weeks to nearly finish one, old soft onions hmmm thanks for those and some horrible turkish creation which can be nice if made properly lol so she got the sh!ts as when she turned up I was feeding Eliza and made a snide comment saying well "I can't even hold her as the mother has her" this made me pretty annoyed and then I felt pressure to hurry up her feed, then I said to myself err **** her just feed her, in fact feed her extra long so she goes to sleep so I did :D so then she cuddled her sleeping while I did some ironing and got DP to help me make the bed....then after an hour or so the fun and games really began..she asked "who's surname is Eliza getting?" Now she is getting mine as DP said he suffered so much at school here in Australia for being Turkish and having a Turkish name so we decided to give her mine. Being the English monster I am lol so the fireworks started and she started to scream that it's wrong and she should have the fathers surname :ecomcity: then she decided she had better leave after I said "look can you not argue around my child, and it doesn't matter about her name, she has two parents who love and care for her very much, that is what matters, then she started on the fact we're not married ......GAWD SAKE DP said look 8 years together pretty good mum back off..... so she got her suitcase and we saw her out ...my gawd sometimes I wonder about people she's old Turkish and traditional and well we're not lol ANYWAY"S
I double booked myself today socially wow amazing I know I agreed to lunch with DP's old work mates and then organised for a friend who's expecting and has a toddler to come over, so had to cancel my friend as I did arrange the lunch thingo week or two back!
I have one sticth that hasn't disolved and is like hanging out of the scar..hmm and it's open a little bit it heals up and then opens I must get it taken out I could just pull it out but that would be nuts lol I am going to the DR's this week as my back is killing me where the stupid EPI went. need pain killers!
I have such a poopy pant's daughter lol last night she did this ripper of a fart in her cradle and blooming DP taps me and says "babe was that you?" I am like do I ever do that!!!!!! He was like OMG a tiny baby did that huge fart lol he's so proud he he
on that note she slept most of the night in her cradle DP bought a snuggle time thing it's like two hard foam rolls so the baby can side sleep or on the back but they are held quite snuggly she liked it slept very well.
So much better for her to sleep in there I sleep better for one!
Well I have a deadline to meet today for someone that has no routine I just hope she doesn't need a feed when I have to leave! makes me nervous!
OK I knew it would be long sowy.
Hope everyone else is well Sally Melly, Kirsty, Keara, Kimmy, Shannon, Nizzma, Jamie and Trix and Stacey :D hope I got everyone!
Nat xx
Nope you forgot me Nat!!!!! FANKS!
I hear ya on the MIL issues! Got one of them but she hasn't been too bad of late.
Keara, what is the chromosome abnormality that they think your son has?
I know that it is hard but you should go get the tests done. He will get the proper help then. I know when I found out about Em before she was born I had her booked in with a physio and OT and all I had to do was call them back up when she was born. It really helps, all the therapies I mean. Good luck with it all tho.
Stacey, I think she just wants her mum.
Kailah gets upset and DH tries to calm her and as soon as she hears my voice she stops, but then continues if I don't hold her.
I think it's nice that she wants me instead of him. Em is a 'daddy's girl' so it is nice to have someone want me all the time instead of him.
:o and I hope you're well too Kris lol

hey there y'all
finally have the chance to catch up on a bit of the thread.
Stacey- Try getting the daddy to put on a shirt that you've been wearing....maybe your scent will calm her.....its worth a try:confused:
DM- Mother inlaws can be a killer hey. I dont know whats worse, one that interfers or one that never helps out or give a toss except when theres attention for her. Well thats what im faced with anway.
Cooper has been a cranky pants tonight, i think he had a bit of wind. Hes been doing some ripper farts, it must be the chocolate again.
He was just laying here next to me and all the sudden goes " aaaahhh" with such content. I love him so much.
I went to Amart today and kinda had a shopping spree.. I got the new tallboy for Coopers room and the a big lounge, and then a dining suite, and then an outdoor setting, and then an entertainment unit for the bedroom. The DH was really impressed with my spending ability today .... he didnt say a word though cause he knew it was cominig as we needed new stuff.
So i have to get the house ready for most of that which is arriving on Thursday:fingerscrossed: . Im soooo excited.
Well now Easters over i have to start planning the next occasion. We will be having a big Mothers day celebration at our house and we invite all the mothers in my family and have a special lunch with beautiful food and wine, lots of pink things and i love giving them all a little gift. I havent thought of what to get them all this year but i got some great little pink organza ribbon bags to put it in .... one step ahead. If any one has a nice small gift suggestion that would be great. Something i can order online would be even better.:p
well i better go get some sleep , im knackered.
Oh .. i joined Yahoo , i want to join the march mummas group so im waiting patiently to see all your photo's.
Cant wait to show off Cooper too.
my yahoo address is kristyheagney@yahoo.com.au if anyone wants to chat
Cheers

Hi everyone,
I just found this thread - was going back to the March Buddies group and thought "where did everyone go"???
Anyways I found ya's. Hope everyone is doing well. I have just started weaning Poppy onto formula as my milk was not enough. Poppy was feeding every hour on both breasts and then screamed afterwards could never get her to settle.
I have found that she is abit windy though and has s few tummy pains - Is she too young to have anything in the formula to help this - she is 4 weeks old??
Nat - I am sorry that you didn't get to have the birth you wanted. I was the same. Hope you are healing well and :fingerscrossed: you have a natural birth the next time. We have a 50/50 chance. By the way little Miss Eliza is just beautiful!!!!
I am off for a walk - Poppy just love it!!
Stacey - Poppy is on S26 Gold at the moment. If the infacol doesn't work then I will be going to Kari Care. I don't want to mix her up just yet I will give it a month on S26 Gold.
Can you get slower teats then slow flow??? I heard you can get colic and wind teats??
Amy
Sally, I had to stop using Daktarin in his mouth because he was vomiting up more than half his feed. It got so bad on Saturday that he cried and fussed, didn't sleep all day. DH thinks it's because he hated the taste. He finally fell asleep at 6.30 and slept till 11. His longest ever. I'm still using Daktarin on my nipples and a very mild bicarb solution to clean his tongue after feed. It's finally starting to clear up. And I have a happy baby again. He only possets a small amount now, and that's if he has a really big burp or I move him to much too soon. I usually burp and wait 5 mins before I move him.
Hey Natalyia. I hope you park yourself down and rest as soon as you feel sore. I know it's hard to stop yourself doing things but you recover so much quicker if you sleep and take pressure of the wounded area. It's only now that I feel "normal" downstairs, and I didn't have major surgery. Hehe it's funny about Eliza and DP. I think babies know to give Daddies the really messy ones. Just to remind them that Mummies don't have it easy, haha :hugs: I can't believe how proud Dad's are over their little ones farts. Heaven help us if it was us that did them. Oh no, ladies don't fart. :p Good on you DP for backing you up with the MIL. Unfortunately for me DH isn't usually around when his mum visits. She's not as meddling as yours though. But I guess it's because we're married and all she can pick on is how I care for the baby
Hey all the March mummas and Shannon :D Kristy you should be able to see the pictures now. Sorry you had to wait. Busy, busy over Easter.
Amy, I almost gave up breastfeeding when Matthias fed every 1.5 hours. It was after hospital for about a week, when all the painkillers had worn off I think. I took Blessed Thistle (got it from DVC store) and Jamu (Indonesian herbal medicine) and my milk started seeping out, till it could hose him in the face. Now he's at 3 hours during the day and 3-5 hours at night.
Kimmy - I know if I would have stuck to breast feeding it would of got better but emotionally and phisically I just could not cope. I have a nipple condition where I don't get enough circulation and they get so sensitive and swollen and between that and feeding every hour with Poppy not wanting to settle at all and only sleeping maybe 4 hours through the day and night I just couldn't do it. I feel guilty about it but I figure I breast fed for 4 weeks and now I have a happy little girl that settles after every feed.
Hope everyone is doing well - I posted a few more photo's of Poppy on the Yahoo site. We are off to Wagga today to visit Grandma!!!
Talk soon
Amy
Hullo :)
Kimmy poor little Matthias I hope he recovers soon, bless him and you!
Stacey They are very cute pictures i love pictures of kids with animals lol, I must make a post to our group!
Amy Again very cute pictures Poppy looks like a big girl too cute!
Well today I had to go to centrelink to hand the form in for the baby bonus 2nd time I have been there...massive quque..two blokes come in start fighting:eek: I leave lol I am like there has to be another way to hand this form in, I have to prove my residency as I am not a citizen yet so have to show my visa in person find out can go to medicare office, so I walk into the city...bang straight in wam bam thank you bye lol soooo quick!
today she is being so good napping as usual 1 hour at a time 3-4 hours awake yet I have managed to do most of the housework...nothing over the top though!
So last night DP came to bed and woke me up to tell me how much he loves me etc.. I am like very nice dear...let me sleep lol..then I hear him crying, not just a little like sobbing, so I reach out and ask him whats wrong..he said he just can't believe how close he came to loosing me and he was remembering it all again...gosh it was so upsetting, making me upset now thinking about it, then missy woke up so I fed her then she went back to sleep, and it is all really hitting me how I nearly died etc but I didn't I am here healthy fit etc...but it's very traumatic more so for him I think.
Anyway what can you do, you just have to deal with it, support each other and move on. I am going to start looking into weather or not we have a case with the hospital and the stress of it all.
sorry long post again...:hugs: to all you girls so glad we have each other
Hi ladies,
I am almost too busy for bubhub lately. DH has been doing some of the housework tho, as he took the day off work yesterday (shock, horror!) so I have a LITTLE time.
My digital camera (just over a year old, so no warranty) is sudenly broken, I'm really p'ed off, just when Carla started smiling and all. She is so entertaining, scaring herself when she hiccups. Today she managed to throw up in her own ear, cos I didn't wipe it off quick enough.
Nat, sorry to hear about your MIL, they can be so testy sometimes. I am lucky as my MIL has a full time job, a 10 year old son and 3 other grandkids beside mine, so she is often very busy, too busy to interfere much with me anyway. She is mostly in the good books, and does help when she can. Do you think it would be more stressful to go down the litigation path with the hospital? As you said, you are fit and well, must have been extremely difficult, and still is, for your DP though. Perhaps he could talk to someone. It's good that he is emotional and cries and talks about how he feels, bottling it up does no good. Whatever you decide, I wish you all the best. :hugs:
Kimmy, I am glad to hear you and Matthias are on the mend. Carla sometimes does big chucks now, especially after the first feed in the morning, as she gets more milk then. Maybe I should try keeing her still as well.
Better go and cook some dinner, will try and chat again soon.
xx
Went to the clinic this moring and Kailah now weighs 5kgs!!!
But I now have to note exactly how much she drinks over 24hrs.
It seems she may not b e drinking enough for her weight....
but she is gaining and not losing!!!:smiliedance:
Hi Ladies,
Nat- Yes Poppy is a big girl, we call her budda!! she has 3 chins and very chubby cheeks.
Stacey - your website is great, just had a look then. Love the new outfit:thumbsup:
Kris - You can take some of Poppy's weight for Kailah, I am pretty sure they are going to tell me she is over weight he he.. As long as she is gaining that better then nothing at all or losing weight.
Hope everyone is well - I will have to change my signiture and aviater a little behind!!
Amy
Hi March Mummies (& Kimmy! ;) ) and good to hear from you Amy! Poppy is gorgeous!
Well, since Laura was the first one to be born, she's no doubt the first one to get her immunisation shots! :( OMG it was awful! She has never cried so much or so loud as when she had to have those needles. Her face went so red! I held it together and didn't cry until we got home... I burst into tears when I told DH about it. The nurse was really good though, and let me go into a private room to breastfeed her afterwards... it was a good comfort thing to do and really helped to settle her down. But that night she must have been in a bit of pain because she cried a lot (in a different way to usual crying) and sobbed in between cries... it was so heartbreaking! I gave her children's panadol - worked like a charm! About ten minutes later she was smiling and happy again!
Then the next miracle happened... I got her to bed by 10pm and she didn't wake again until 6.30am! That's eight and a half hours! I had such a good night's rest and she did too, because all day she has been one happy little girl!
I have put in an order for some fitted cloth nappies so I can stop buying disposables. I bought two all-in-one nappies on ebay but have looked into it further and bought some different ones that are a better quality from a lady that sells them up here. She had a stall at the shopping centre for Real Nappy Week and so I got to see and feel each of the different nappies - there are so many to choose from! I'm getting a bamboo one (SO incredibly soft), a terry cloth one with built-in insert and booster, a wool one for night time, a bunch of bamboo inserts (which you can use in your flat terry cloths), a wool cover, a PUL cover in pretty pink, and one of those snap button nappies that are one-size-fits-all. When I figure out which one is best for Laura, I can get a few more and put an end to buying disposables! I can't wait till they arrive!
:smiliedance:
OMG Sally... I don't know what I would do without my digi camera! Get thee to a camera shop pronto!
Nat, I think your DP is probably still in shock... my DH was after the birth and also had to have a good cry to get it out of his system... and my birth experience was a walk in the park compared to yours. It's good that he's talking about it... perhaps if he's still worried/stressed/etc he should talk to someone neutral (a doctor, parent, friend). Doesn't birth make you really appreciate what you have in life?
Hope everyone else is going well!
Hi Shannon how are things??? Haven't spoken to you in ages.
OK ladies I bought Infocal for Poppy cause she has been getting wind pains after a feed. Does it take a while to kick in or should I be noticing changes straight away???
Should I look at switching to another formula?? I have slow release teats and I know she is definately not constipated.
Any thoughts??
Amy
Hi Stacey, well I was wrong about the constipation - she is. Her last stool was very dry and thick - poor little thing she has been crying for about 3 hours straight. I went down the shops thank god wollies is open til midnight here and bought some brown sugar. It has worked a treat!! She has stopped crying she has farted so many times and has been able to pass a better stool in the last 10 min. YAY :yelclap:
Instead of putting it in the bottle I will be putting it in cooled boiled water before a feed so she is getting better hydrated and doesn't get used to sugary formular, 1/2 teaspoon to 1 oz water once a day and see how she goes :fingerscrossed:
I am so not looking forward to immunisation time, you just feel so powerless when you see them in pain - big :hugs: to makayla for me - hope she feels better.
Amy
AMY, can I ask what bottles you are using, and what formula, and also does Poppy dribble alot out of her mouth while drinking? Is that why you were asking if there were slower flow teats?
Just trying to figure out why she is getting so much wind and constipation.
I wouldn't call myself an expert...but...Emily had a lot of probs with constipation and diff bottles and teats and Kailah has also had a few probs feeding. She doesn't seal her mouth around the teats properly sometimes, I think more so when she is tired, and will dribble alot so I give her chin and cheek support to help her seal properly and not get so much air.
Let me know and maybe I could suggest a few things, sometimes it's just something little that needs to be changed like how you feed her or a teat etc.
Kailah is a very lucky girl and gets a nice massage everyday now! She loves it so much! And after I just cuddle her lots cos she smells sooooo good, I just want to gobble her up..he he he!
Can I ask if everyone's AF has returned?
It's been 7 weeks and mine hasn't:confused:
For over a week now I have had really bad period cramps but no period...?
Sometimes I get a little watery blood but not much and then nothing...?
I just don't get it?
I know all who are BF prob won't get yours for months...lucky you!....but those who are FF have they returned? I'm starting to worry.
I haven't had my check yet as my DR is on holidays until monday so I will have it then.
I am just starting to worry thats all.
It feels like my body is trying to have a period but can't.
I don't know if it has something to do with the infection I had after Kailah was born.
Any thoughts..?
Hello Everyone :)
Well we had our visit to the childhood centre today Eliza is now 9lb 30z so she is gaining very well!
I got a little upset as the woman I saw said "oh yeah I work at the hospital, where Eliza was born, I heard about what happened to you in the evening" then she said shame about how your uterus tore upwards   "WHAT"??? she said "oh you didn't know?" I am like no I didn't realise it tore upwards as well as the normal c/section incision.....so now at my 6 week check have to find out for sure if that is what has happened and how it affects future pregnancies I pray it doesn't mean I won't be able to have any more kids :( She also has got a social worker to call me to arrange a de-briefing considering what happened to us, apparently that should of been arranged before I left hospital grrr idiots. DP is happy to talk to someone which I am surprised I didn't think he would..hope it helps him.
She commented on how good I looked and said for someone who lost 2litres of blood 3 weeks ago you and the baby are doing very well. She was surprised I was walking everywhere lol
anyway need some food xx
Hi ladies,
Nat, I really feel for you. Hope the social worker can provide some emotional support for you and your DP. I will be thinking of you in 3 weeks, let us know when your 6 week appt is, so I can send up some prayers
Kris, no AF for me, I still have the postpartum bleeding tho. I didn't get mine for at least a year after my last two babies, so hopefully it will be 2007 before I get it again. The only annoying thing is we can't go on the pill, and DH hasn't had his "procedure" yet  , so let's just say we aren't taking any chances. I don't believe breastfeeding provides 100% contraception.
Stacey, thanks for the comment on the avatar, but Carla doesn't look like that anymore! Am sending my camera off today to get repaired (if it isn't too dear), or I will have to buy a new one. On closer inspection I think my DS may have broken it - what an expensive lesson for me  - especially if I need a new one.
Shannon, I love the idea of cloth nappies, but do you think it's too expensive for one baby? I won't get to use them again, and I will need lots as I am a lazy person with laundry. I'd love to stop using disposables, but it all seems really
Ok, gotta go have lunch, I am forgetting to eat lately.
Sally
Sally, I think it is worth it to get modern cloth nappies... I spend $20 per week on disposables at the moment and using flat terry cloth during the day except if we go out somewhere.
The fitted cloth nappies will probably cost me $250-$300 all up (when I buy more than my initial starter pack), which equates to 15 weeks worth of disposables (about four months). Since most bubs are in nappies till the age of two (or older) I reckon I'll have saved myself at least 18 months worth of disposables which adds up to $1440! Now even if I buy another $200 worth of fitted cloth nappies, I'll still have saved $1240!
Hope all that maths makes sense! It might not be worth it if you are not having any more children, but even if you are only having one child... I can really see the benefits both financially and environmentally.
Hello girls
Sally w/b lol good to hear from you:hugs:
I went shopping today bought some new PJ's ones that undo at the front so I don't have to keep lifting my top up mucho better, looked for some tops that button at the front too but couldn't find any I liked.
Eliza has been awake all day and I mean since 10am it's now just gone 5pm and she just went to sleep about 10 minutes ago *eyeroll* she had like 3 10 minute cat naps throught the whole day...had to stop and feed her twice while we were out. DP is being wonderful about it all I feel guilty when I stop to feed so send him off to the shops then he comes back to get me!
My back is so painful today going to get some more stronger pain killers if I go to the DR's this week.
People still can't believe I am out and about shopping with my 3 week old baby...I am out every day lol even if it's just for a 20 minute walk I have to go out!!
God I hope she sleeps a little bit now lol she did sleep all night last night for a very long time, she has the same patterns as when I was pregnant anyone else's babies the same?
she was always quiet at night and very active in the day.
I have started to give Eliza time on the floor on a blanket and putting a toy in front of her she is going good reaching out for it feeling the material etc I am impressed lol and in the last 24 hours has smiled back 3 times when I have smiled at her..I have no idea if she is just doing it or it's in reply to my smiles lol god I love her so much!!
she woke up again:rolleyes: quick feed now back to sleep again now:rolleyes:
I bought baby love today I heard a lot about it so just got it lol
I called the hospital and my medical records will be sent to my DR. next week so will be able to go and talk get some questions answered etc.
So Annoyed and stressed by the treatment we have gotten
ok enjoy the rest of the weekend xx

:D Morning ladies....... I'm still here!
I posted a big reply which got chewed up in cyberspace somewhere, bugger it!
The general theme of it is that life is good
Got my hair permanently straightened now so I'll spend more time by the pool relaxing and not trying to tame an unruly mop!
Off to QLD on Friday arvo, can't wait...
Having a busy weekend- threw a surprise party for my sis yesterday, got inlaws arriving later today- still haven't got much study done. (Definately NOT doing off campus again next semester!)
Thomas is an absolute joy, though very high maintenance during daylight hours, thank goodness for the sling.
Gotta run
Keara If we don’t hear from you have an awesome time in QLD!!!
Little Eliza slept 6.30pm-4am the other night!! Pretty much the same last night :fingerscrossed: it stays this way for a while!
Not much happening around here, have a friend coming over today with her toddler, just need to get Eliza down for her nap so I can do some housework and make myself presentable!
xx
Hi girls,
Keara, Have a great holiday if I don't see you agian before you go - your hair looks great by the way  Hope your sister's party was a success.
Doh, Carla just woke up. She goes from 0-10 in 1.3 seconds if I don't feed her quick enough.
Thanks for that on the cloth nappies Shannon, I find it so confusing though. Must re-read some of the threads on the topic. I feel guilty because I have prolly contributed 5000 nappies to landfill already :o
Nat, I'm sorry about your back, good that you are walking daily tho, that must help, better than lying around the house all day.
OK I need to go, bub is calling louder now.
xx
Good morning ladies,
Nat - How good is Eliza sleeping like that. Poppy has had a few good nights but now she is back to waking a couple of times during the night and she up mostly all day during the day. It's impossible to have a shower sometimes - does anyone else freak out while then in the shower thinking that they are awake????
Well I have the wind and constipation under control but now Poppy has decided to spew after every feed which makes the washing pretty much all I do at the moment :)
Hope evryone is well
Amy
Stacey, I love your avatar. Makayla looks so cute in it.
Sally, he still has thrush. The doctor prescribed Nilstat. I really don't see what it's doing except to make the white on his tounge stand out more in neon yellow. Going on the fifth day now, I'll try another 24 hours, then I'm going back to my bicarb and just hoping he doesn't give it too me. At least he's not vomiting his feed anymore. Can I ask why you can't use the pill? I'd love to use a cloth nappy service but it worked out a lot more than disposables. I have Matthias in ALDI during the day and Woolworths Select at night (it can hold for 7 hours!). And he's a big wetter and poo-er. Thankfully he doesn't do his big poos at night (7-midnight). No rashes or leaks - and no crystals in sight - Woohoo! If I wasn't working, I'd definately use cloth. I start at the office next week and I'm try to get ahead, doing paperwork at home this week.
Kris, how can they tell if they're not drinking enough if they're gaining weight? As for AF, I'm full breastfeedings and my hasn't returned. I was worried about not getting it, till the midwife told me it's normal. On Friday I started the mini pill again. I'm finally feeling less anxious about resuming sex. :P (sorry for the TMI)
Shannon, I had very much a similar experience with Matthias and his shots. He kicked and screamed the whole time. I kept trying to hold him still because he was kicking with the needle in - major ouchie! And then he wouldn't settle. He ran a fever on and off for over 24 hours. I think it's almost as though his body finished coping with one virus and then started on the next. I had to give him panadol twice, 4pm and then 8 and he finally went to sleep at 8.30. He sleep till midnight, fed and then till 3. And then he wanted a feed every two hours. He was finally back to himself by 6pm.
Nataliya, wow that's so sweet. Hopefully he knows the worst is over now and you can both enjoy Eliza together. DH really got sentimental on me after the birth too. I still catch a glimpse of it. And he's a real burly man's man. ;) It's nice to feel loved, wanted and appreciated. And ack how scary was that. I'm glad you and DP both have someone to talk too. I'm sure you'll be able to have more children. They'll probably just monitor you very closely, induce early and do another C-section. So there's less risk of rupture. And what a good girl to sleep so well for mummy. I think it'll be six months before Matthias sleeps through.
Amy G, I can't imagine what Matthias would be like constipated. :Shudder: He's so windy and strains now and his poos are runny and explosive. I hope Poppy continues to feel better. I was the same with being in PJs and unfed most of the day. For a long time I felt like all I did was feed. Now I just bring him in his bouncer into the bathroom if he's awake and fussing/crying. I found if I move him too quick he brings up more. Burping before a feed seemed to help too. He's such a windy boy. I hope Poppy settles for you soon.
Wishing all the mummies a great week with lots of cooing and toothless smile rewards. :hugs:
Happy Labour Day Holiday (to all the Queenslanders! )
Glad to hear everyone's news. Laura is going great and weighs 4.95kg now... almost at the 5kg mark!
RE: AF... I only got a period after going on the mini pill (watch out Kimmy!) and it was so heavy... worst period ever! It lasted about four days thank goodness... hope it doesn't come back next month.
The mum's group I have joined is going well and I've managed to hook up with another mum who lives in my area to go walking together regularly... it's so much better to have someone to chat to.
Woohoo! Eliza is a star! Nat, you are very lucky to have a placid bub like her... Laura has been sleeping through since she was five weeks and I am sooo grateful. There are lots of mums at group whose babies are older than mine and they still wake every three hours for a feed. A lot of them have asked me "what's my secret?" but I haven't done anything different... it's just that she sleeps well at night. Once the light is switched off I think she finds it easier to settle herself if she wakes up through the night because she can't see anything. We really do have to thank our lucky stars for our precious girls!
Ditto the Woolies Select Kimmy! :D They are excellent nappies (for disposables).
Whewy My friend came over today and wow her little one is 15 months and she is pregnant with #2 the toddler doesn't stop!! I felt so sorry for her made me realise that my days are easy compared to being pregnant and having a little person to chase around...like actually chasing ha ha!!
Was great though to have company, someone to chat to about MIL's DH's etc etc...
The social worker called me today and we are going to arrange a debriefing soon which is awesome.
Oh I made a thread as I am soo proud but Eliza got a job lol I use to do acting before I was preg and my agent called and they needed a baby for a show on Channel 7 no names lol and she got the job :D so happy...showbiz mum already ha ha JJ I was worried at first said no will think about it etc etc after and hour or so of thinking called her back and agreed to the work!
Anyway she is alseep already not sure how long she will stay asleep as she had a different day to the usual. Amazingly I managed to get 3 loads of laundry done today tidy up the place twice lol cook dinner..fold all the laundry and clean the kitchen after dinner....???where did the energy come from????
tomrrow I plan to do sweet FA lol
Kimmy you back to work already! wow time flies poor little man they thought Eliza had thrush the other day but was just milk on her tongue which I was thankful for after reading about Matthias.
Shannon Laura still sounds so small lol Eliza is already 4.5 kilos lol lil fatty!
I have my mothers group in a week or so I think nervous about going but will good to see what it's all about and meet new mums in the area!
man I can talk lol
xx
For the last two days, Matthias is back to 2 - 2.5 hours for his day time feeds. 7am to 6pm. Maybe we're headed for another growth spurt? Or maybe I'm not producing enough anymore. :P I've still got four months till he can have solids. Maybe I'll have to formula feed every second feed so he's full for longer...
Shannon, I actually had lighter periods while on the pill. The only problems I had were on the combined pill (bloating, pimples, and breakthough bleed). Mini pill gave me no problems and I've used it for years. :) I hope it continues that way. I didn't want to go back on anything but we're not ready for another one yet. My mum was full breastfeeding and all four of us are no more than 18 months apart.
hehe. I thought it was about time I updated the picture Stacey. That first picture was from when he was 4 days old.
Nataliya, like you I love company. Even if they are bringing along toddlers. Our mother's group has three. A friend is pregnant with her 3rd. She has two very active boys, 3 & 1.5 and I don't know how she does it. Yep, back to work. Already feeling the drain. I'm off for a nap after I finish this message. This morning I was on the phone with a creditor trying to sort out the company account for the last six months. My father inlaw has no concept of record keeping. I can tell I'm in for a major headache for the first few weeks. At least he knows my first priority is Matthias. I couldn't stay on with my other job because I couldn't bear the thought of putting him in child care, 8hrs, 5 days a week.
OMG I am so tired!! Eliza has had one 20minute nap today been awake since 9am!!!:banghead:
I have played music, went for a walk, took a bath with her hmmm + she eating like mad!!! do they have a growth spurt at 3 weeks or something??
well I ended up in tears I just thought i wasn't making milk or something so rang the ABA counsellers yep shes growing needs more milk so stimulating me more to make more eghh can't stop crying:gloomy:
HELLO EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OH how i've missed coming on here every day!!!! Not only has life become very hectic since little Indi was born, we've been offline for the past 3 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its been torture!!
Anyways, i'm back and I'll hopefully have time to catch up with all you guys, doubt i have time to read back on every single post, but i'll try, have I missed anything huge???
I'll have to update my pic, Indiana doesn't look much like that anymore!! Its amazing how fast they grow - she's almost 6 weeks!!!!!
I LOVE BEING A MUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stacey you have Makayla on food already!!!
That is not good!
Why did the nurse tell you to put her on solids?!?!?!?
I am truley MORTIFIED! At only 2 months old! The recommended age to start solids is around the 6 month mark!
Did a paediatrician recommend this?
I am sorry if I upset you but that is really no good for her tummy AT ALL!!
W/B Tania!!!
Well DP came home to me in tears saying I had rung the helpline..poor guy thought I was suicidal! I was like no the BF helpline lol He took us out for a walk she was good in the whole time in her pram looking around got some take away came home.she started to fuss again..by now despite her being on my boobs for 10 hours they were huge and so firm!!!! So she started to feed..boom lights out at 7 and she woke 7am this morning, I woke up at 3am to change her she hardly woke up lol
+ she has had two naps this morning, just woke up now for a feed, which is normal...OMG I hated yesterday!! But when I know she sleeps well at night it's a huge benefit!
It's our 8 year Anniversary this week I thought it was Monday so sent him a mushy sms to his phone :o Turns out our anniversary is the 5th of May lmao thought us women were meant to be the clock watchers on these things lo
Well I have to do some banking and collect another parcel:smiliedance:
xx
Hi ladies  cute new smilies!
Kimmy, I didn't want to go on the pill (even the mini pill) while breastfeeding, I know that doctors say it's ok, but I don't wish to muck around with hormones when BF. No time for sex anyway :o Sorry about the thrush, how frustrating for you. Hope the new job turns out well for you, at least it's family.
Nat, little Eliza is being unpredictable for you. Going for walks in the pram used to work well for my DD#1 and DS, and Carla loves her sling. I wish DH would love going for walks like your DP, but no luck. His idea of fitness is playing soccer so I can't really join in there.
Hi Tania, glad to see you back, and you are enjoying Indiana so much, I'd love to see a new pic too!
Going shopping soon, need a new bed for Christian as he hates the cot now, even though we took one side off, so it's like a mini bed anyway. I have his Thomas the Tank quilt to pick up, I know he will be so excited, everything he has is "Thomas", should have named him that! Carla is still a little angel, feeding and sleeping really well, I could almost have another one if I could guarantee another good baby. OMG just thinking about her, and I get the let-down! (Sorry if TMI).
Gotta go have lunch, big hugs to the mummies.
WOW - took me forever to catch up on you all - then gave up half way as I realised I was only half way through!!!(chatterboxes)
Well been offline forever -Dont get me started on telstra.
Anyways , we are in new house - it sooooo much bigger which is great and lily is wonderful - she makes me so clucky as she is just so content all the time. She is now drinking between 170ml and 200ml, is smiling all the time and talking (goo's and gaa's) which sounds bwoootiful....Took her to the health clinic today and she is 11pound 6 ounzes and 58 cm long (which I was surprised at I thought she would grow more than 1cm in 7 weeks), anyways - i have al little Buddah baby!!! She has to go for her immunisations next week which I am not looking forward too...
Cannot beleive how much I missed you all - wish we could catch up for coffee.....
Glad all your bubs are good and love the new pics..:hugs: to all
Sally, I hated to go back on them too. I hated being on them at all. But no action without them unfortunately. And I've finally over the horror of all that happened downstairs...not waiting anymore. :o
Nat, I'm so glad that you're feeling like you can manage better. And that Eliza settled. I was like that too a week ago, when Matthias didn't sleep all day and threw up all his feeds. I was on the verge of tears. Thankfully it was only one day and my sister and mum helped me through it. I think the worst was feeding him and having it brought up. Cause you're thinking, I just spent fourty minutes with you. And it's going to take me a good hour or two to build up that store again. And then I'm facing another 40 mins. So tired. He's now feeding 2 hours at night. I hope I was right about the growth spurt and this only being temporary... :hugs: We're thinking of you Nat. Chin up.
Stacey, I really think that I'm not producing enough to stasify him anymore either. I'll be sure to talk with my MCHN about it. I'm definately thinking of supplemental feeding with formula.
jamiedow, glad the move went well and you're back online. :) Welcome back. Haha. I'll be the one doing pages of catch up, when I have no time for net. If anyone misses me, I'll be checking up March Yahoo Group regulary. Or semi-regularly, or anyone new won't be able to join us. :p
Hi Stacey.
Kailah, as of last thursday was 5 kgs and 57cm long.
She was a big girls born but seems she might be a petite girl as she isn't stacking on the weight, just enough for her to be healthy.
But I do wish that in a few months she has some rolls, I love fat babies! lol! Love pinching all those rolls! But lil babies are cute too, just want a chubby one! lol They lose it all once they become mobile anyways:rolleyes:
Kailah spent most of today awake also but she was very happy and chatting away to me! We had quite a few conversations! Was very entertaining!
She has the cutest little voice! Lots of GOOO's and GAAAH's and a few giggles too.
She is getting really strong too. She has no problem holding her head up and is getting alot of contol too. She is liking tummy time a bit more now. I think more so because she is interested in Emily and likes to see her. She tried to talk to Emily today too and Emily thought it was great, she was laughing at her little noises.
Kimmy, I don't envy you, back to work already!
I am not looking forward to going back to work, lost of late night, most well into the wee hours of the morning and then having to be back up with the girls before sunrise! That's gonna mean living off just a couple of hours sleep!!!
But I have to go back sometime:rolleyes: . I do miss it sometimes tho. I really do love it but I love being with my girls more...lol

Hi everyone...
Long time , no post for me! Have read a few posts but it is mission impossible to catch up on them all!! Between my possessed computer:barf: and a little boy who won't sleep...I haven't managed to keep up with you all!
Ollie has been pretty unsettlesd the last week or two...just not sleeping unless someone is holding him or if he's in the car/ pram and waking up around 10 times a night (lots of times he wakes up to do a poo which is very frustrating!!). Good to see I'm not alone and there are a few other bubs having settled and unsettled days and it doesn't mean we are doing something wrong!! Nat, I have called the Triscilian helpline twice now....they are great ! Don't you hate it when everyone asks " Is he a good baby?" What the bleep is a good baby anyhow????!! I'm sure there are some babies who eat /sleep exactly when u want them to, but more that don't!!! Anyway, that's my beef for the day!
Ollie had a break through last night and slept from 7.30 - 11.30 which is his longest sleep ever!! Woo Hoo!
Hope you all are having a good day!!
Just a quick question - how do you know if your baby is not getting enough milk and needs solids?? my little girl is constantly hungry!!
Trix this happened to me and I called the ABA not sure if you BF or FF but if BF let them suckle as much as possible and you'll produce more milk..or up the amount of formula...I wouldn't give solids yet..as Kris has said tummy is not ready yet!!
so if your BF call the ABA they are great x
Thanks DM - i'm doing both BF and FF at the moment, I went this way to give my nipples a break after much much troubles with them, but now haven't decided which way I'll go, i'm told I can increase my BF if I want to or wean on to FF.
I know the pros and cons of both, but am leaning more towards FF.
So I am very happy lol I managed to shave my legs do a facial get the laundry in, a load on and the rest in the dryer tidy up all before 6am lol
Hmm Question..Eliza has mastered smiling when I smile at her..problem she does this when she is feeding a new thing she has started to do is suckle a heap of milk smile and let it all run out so of course she is not swallowing!! So I have stopped smiling her at at feeding for this morning and rubbing her neck like cat taking a worming tablet to ensure she swallows also she had a big sleep after her early morning feed woke up gagging she was on her back as well horrible sound and then proceeded to have projectile vomiting all over me went through 4 bibs in the space of minutes. She is asleep again now..Other mummies with experience what causes the huge vomits?
Also she gets pretty grunty and then farts are those tummy drops that ease wind worth it or just let her grunt and heave lol
My scar is infected looked like two pimples warningTMI I squeezed them and a lot of blood came out, I have put a band aid on them now I am going to the DR's monday so will get her to check it out...grr hope I don't need antibitotics..it's not to bad but still better to get it checked out.
Well things are better than ever with DP he came home with a bunch of Roses for me last night it's been a very. very long time since he bought me flowers lol it's out 8 years anniversary today so maybe that's why lucky I had bought him some chocolates yesterday lol
Oh and Eliza has advancecd to infant huggies she is out of the newborns already!
well hope you are all well xx
DM - wow you sure got a lot done, all before 6am??? geez i go back to sleep after her 6am feed and if she doesn't want to go back to sleep, then she's in bed with me!
I haven't had problems with huge vomits - but i have had a couple of projectile ones, and i've found that is when i perhaps should have made her burp once more or something.
Hmm, that scar issue sounds like a problem, definitely get it checked out!
It doesn't take long to grow out of newborn nappies does it?? luckily i didn't buy too many, Indi grew out of them around week 3. She's a little chubba!
One question - Indi has a yellow looking tongue, it doesn't look like thrush cos its not lumpy, just a creamy yellow look about it. Does anyone elses baby have this??
Nat, if Eliza has only vomited like that once or twice don't worry too much it probably all came up like that cos she had a big ball of wind stuck behind it.
Kailah vomits like that alll the time but that is another issue.
Kailah has now been put on Soy formula.:(
Dr put her on it this morning after she spent 6 straight hours yesterday screaming, throwing up and refusing to drink.
Her poo's have become more mucasy and looking like curdled milk so Dr said time for soy. We are seeing how she goes with it over the weekend and if she's no better she has to go on Elecare formula. You can only get it via prescription and it's VERY expensive so he said.
:fingerscrossed: the soy does the job so we don't have to buy the "liqiud gold" the soy is dear enough at $23 a tin! I was only paying $10.95 a tin for the heinz.
But if it's gonna make her feel better I'll pay anything!
Trix, I'd get the tongue looked at, it sound like thrush to me. It doesn't have to be lumpy to be thrush, the tongue can still look quite smooth. Have you checked your nipples for any signs?
Just feed her whenever she wants it. Don't worry about what is recommended on the tin, especially if you are still Bf as well as FF.
Only put her on solids if it is recommended by a paediatrician or pediatric dietician. Starting solids early is not to be taken lightly, it CAN really harm their digestive system. Believe me I studied child health and development for 4years.
Hope all the babies are well (well better than mine anyways!)
Kailah is asleep on my chest, if I put her down she just screams so I have typed this entire post one handed!
My mum has taken Em for the night which is a BIG relief, I couldn't handle another night of Kailah screaming and Emily getting upset over it.
DH doesn't get home till at least 9pm so I'd be doing it all on my own:no: .
It is called Elecare and is amino acid based. It is very gentle and especially formulated for babies with allergies to cow's milk and soy formulas and even breast milk.
It is prescription only cos it is basically only to be used as a last resort when everything else is causing a reaction in babies and children.
:fingerscrossed: we don't have to go on that!
So Eliza is out of newborn nappies but I still have few to use up....Last night she had her first explosive poopie all out the side and top all onto her wondersuit....and....me:eek: we cosleep as well lucky none went on the bed!!!
S hmm straight back into infannt huggies lol
DP is very sick which sucks has he was meant to go grocery shopping today!!
ohh and when do your boobs stop leaking??? I go through breast pads like crazy!!
ok i need food :D:chef:

Sorry to hear your little isnt well. hope she feels better soon.
I Cant wait for better sleeping hours i just running on lots of coffe at the moment (Lucky shes FF)
Anyway GOT TO GO my three hours are up and shes crying:banghead: :banghead:
Hi Stacey & Crystal (welcome Crystal!!)
My bubs is FF too (with a little bit of BF, still weaning). I'm using S26 for babies with Reflux. She still is feeding every 3 hours also, but manages 4- 4 1/2 hours during the night.
I was told FF babies sleep longer cos their tummies are fuller????? Not so with my little one!! Could this be cos i'm using the reflux one??
FF babies sleep longer because the formula is harder to digest than BM.
BM only takes a couple of hrs to digest where as formula takes 3-4hrs. That's also why BF babies poop more!
My paediatrician told me not to put Kailah on the thickened formula as he said... it causes more problems than it helps. He said it can cause more wind, constipation....tummy pains..... Probably does help with the vomiting but I would rather vomit than the other problems.
Well Kailah is not taking very well to the soy formula. She hates it! Fusses every bottle and barely drinks 100ml:no: . It seems her tummy is still sore and after every bottle now it's like she just wants to throw it all up.... hasn't yet but the look on her face and she dry reches:( not good.
She hasn't had anymore contiual screaming like it was thursday...thank God!
Well, hopefully she can hold out till monday when I talk to her paed to see what he wants me to do. I don;t want to start her on the Elecare formula if I don't have to.
Hi March Mummies!
Stacey, I hope your little one is better soon! :hugs:
Welcome Crystal!
Kris, hope Kailah's feeding gets sorted out soon... perhaps the paed will have some ideas. Good luck!
Laura got her new modern cloth nappies on Friday and I just LOVE them! They fit so snug and look so cute on her! It's going to save me a fortune in disposables!
She is ten weeks old today and going great! Lots of smiles and giggles and sleeping really well. I usually get a good seven hours sleep each night now.
Mums group is also great... we're starting up Pramercise in our area soon, and although my arthritis will limit the amount I can do, at least I can still walk with the other mums and bubs.
My DH got a new job last week working in Innisfail rebuilding after the cyclone. It will mean he will have to travel three hours each day (it takes an hour and a half to get there) but he says it's worth it for the experience and the challenge.
We may end up having to move there, although this puts us in a real predicament with regards to my job and our house, which we are still renovating!
My parents are coming to visit for Mother's Day weekend (which is also our second wedding anniversary! ) and I can't wait for them to see how much Laura has grown. Thank goodness for the internet - it's so great to keep in touch with family and share pictures, etc, and also for bubhub!
Hi Girls,
Well I feel bad for not using up the newborn nappies but I have decided it's safer to start using the infant ones to save having pooey clothes lol.
I'll save them for the next baby!
Eliza is so good, napping a bit more in the day time now I spent everyday putting her in the hugabub last week to get her use to the sling now I can go out with her in that and she sleeps pretty much all the time, and I can do the housework with her strapped to me.
I cut her thumb yesterday with the nail clippers little bit of skin OMG it bled and bled she didn't seem to mind just carried on feeding but looks soooo sore today poor thing I felt soo awful!
DP has gone and done a massive grocery shop this morning all on his lonesome and he is very sick so bless him!
crystaljs welcome and congratulations you had your baby on my EDD lol, I know what you mean when you see pregnant girls..I am already wanting number 2 well I did anyway but my urge is stronger but I had a horrible c/section so have to wait 12 weeks maybe longer before we TTC again.
Kris My goodness you poor baby it sounds very draining having to struggle to feed like that, I am so glad I can just whip a boob out! good luck and I hope she takes to the soy Formula soon!
Shannon Yay OMG Laura is 10 weeks already  WTH does the time go??!!
Great about hubby's job and helping the people up there but hmm tricky situtation things will work out for the best I hope for you, I start my mothers group this week I am nervous as usual (terrible at meeting people very shy :o ) Happy Anniversary for next week lol
well Eliza is squirming she's in the sling been asleep for an hour so should be waking for a feed soon
xx
OMG! What a day!
My poor little baby is only drinking 50ml of that horrible soy milk per feed!
She is so hungry and wants too eat but she has half a dozen sucks then starts crying!:crying: I am so upset right now. I hate knowing that she is hungry and ther is nothing I can do about it. I am calling her paediatrician first thing in the morning to see what he wants me to do. I am really depressed about it all. All she has done is wake up for a little feed then back off to sleep...all day! It's not like her! She normally has a few good blocks of awake time during the day but she just wanted to sleep, and I know it's because she doesn;t have enough energy cos she's hardly drinking anything! It's so upsetting! She just cries and refuses to drink!
She has only had probably 4 wet nappies today and she usually has at least 8! :(
I just hope that her paed can sort it out tomorrow.:fingerscrossed: I just want her to be drinking properly and to be happy..... where is my little girl I see in my avatar....? Oh how I wish she was that baby again....*sob, sob*

I just found this wonderful website while looking for information to help with a few probs I have had with conflicting advice...... I found all the answers and advice right here.
I have an 8 week old daughter named Annika Paige who is just wonderful (sorry). She is on formula (Nan ha gold) and poos once or twice a day (between 10 and 11am) wakes for a feed every 3 hrs during day and 5 hrs at night and sleeps anywhere from 6 to 10 hrs a night (SORRY). I had been told so many things that I felt my head was going to explode (most from my DH mother).
Thank you so much, now I can ignore her without feeling so bad.
Warning big vent
I am so ******* mad and upset with DP right now..Last night Eliza was cluster feeding and getting herself all in a tizz as she got wind as she was munching so much anyway at one point she let out this huge sqeal and as always when she does this DP (D Standing for knobhead right now) says "what did you do to her now?" far out I have been feeding her straight for 2 hours and I put her down to put my PJ'S on and she screams..so I screamed at him to just F off with the dumb comments and it's very tiring feeding like that + not getting any help when she cries etc sometime I ask him to pick her up if shes in her rocker and cries he just rocks her and says "see, didn't need to pick her up"
Then this morning he says to me I am a wasteful person as I change my breast pads too often and when I am home I should use towels...God I almost lost it. Again I said "just back off on the nasty comments you're being horrible" and he looks at me and says "no" and then stomps off gets dressed N goes to work.
grr I forgot one thing he sais "dunno how you are going to cope with two kids you hardly mange with one" farkwit going to stop now just to upset
I am so, so upset I hope he has a sh!t day and feels worse than he does "hes sick"
I am off to the DR's view my medical records and get my incision wound checked.
Oh dear! Chaos has hit the March Mummas!
Kris, I got tears in my eyes reading your post... your poor little girl... I really hope the doctor sorts out this feeding problem because obviously it has to change for her health and your sanity. Good luck and lots of hugs for you and bub! :hugs:
Nat, I can totally sympathise. My DH goes through stages like that where other things are on his mind so he gets really impatient with Laura. He won't pick her up unless she is really screaming and I am busy doing something (like cooking his dinner!) and sometimes makes sarcastic comments like "if you pick her up it will give you something to do"... what the? Laura had one of those days yesterday where she wouldn't sleep, and just wanted lots of attention. It really gave DH an idea of what it's like when he's not home! But generally, our partners are really supportive (take a deep breath and remember that your DP did go out and do the shopping the other day when he was ill), and they really do love their babies (both Eliza and you). They just have their moments that can really drive us up the wall!! :banghead:
It's good to have a vent about it though! :devil6:
Well, I've got a ton of housework to do as well as a hungry baby, so I'll sign off now! Have a good week mummies!
Hi I am having a bad day too and the smilies aren't working for me... oh well, I will have to learn to express myself better with words alone.
Poor Kailah, I hope you get some good advice and answers from the doctor today Kris. I have been thinking of you. Hopefully this is just a "speedbump" and Kailah will get better real soon. (((hugs)))
Nat, I'm sorry about your DP too, may he feel guilty later... I hope it's just an adjustment phase for him. My DH found our first baby difficult as well. Now with Carla he just picks up the slack for me and it's so much easier.
My problem today was with the OB, went for the six week checkup and I had my son in the stroller and Carla in her sling, everything fine. So we get there and Christian was ok for the first half an hour just to sit there and look around. Then he got a bit bored so I gave him some fruit and a drink that I had brought along, then he played with his cars and we played some little games, naming body parts and singing songs etc, then it started to get tedious. I can understand waiting a bit at the doctor's, but 2 HOURS!!! It was too long for me to sit there, and a hungry and tired two-year-old had no hope of staying happy. He was such a good boy for as long as he could be, but it all became too much and he was just upset and bored, tired and hungry, so he got quite loud and in the end I just left without seeing the doctor, I bet they called my name as I was leaving, but I was so mad by then, he had made me wait that long and there were at least 5 more people still that were there when I arrived. There is no way I am going back, he can shove it.
Oh great my day is getting better, MIL is at the door!
Mondayitis for us it would sem Sally!
I can sooo relate to the waiting I waited nearly two hours to see my GP nuts
they didn't send my records in the end:mad: so the DR. told me to wait she'd get them faxed well another hour waiting they still didn't send them..FAR out!!!
So maybe tomorrow they will havr them:banghead:
no infection with my scar yay!!
ok Eliza is fussing plus feeding like mad
Hi donna-n-ani - Indiana has the same sleeping patterns as Annika, its wonderful!
DM - sorry to hear bout your DP being a pain, i hope he comes to his senses and realises what a moron he's being!!
CnC & DM - GRRRR doctors annoy me sooooo much!!!! I've now decided to call my GP before I leave home for my appointment to make sure they are running on time!
I went to the Dr today for Indi's 6 week checkup - she's now 5.1 kgs!! She's a little chubba!! Everything is going well for her so far. She's such a good bubba!
Kailah had to start the Elecare formula today, she ended up with a rash from the soy so that didn't work out:( .
She doesn't like it much either and has hardly drunk anything today!
I am so sad for her! I just don't know what to do it's so upsetting and frustrating! I am sitting here crying. Kailah always seems hungry but when I try to feed her she doesn't want it. I can't help thinking that there is something else wrong, something serious. We have to see her paed again on wednesday, he wants to give her at least 48 hrs with the new formula to see how she goes. All she does is sleep and cry. I really don't know what to do, I'm at the end of my teather:crying: I'm trying to be strong and hold it together but I'm falling to bits!
I just want my baby to feed properly. I can only imagine how much weight she's lost! I really don't want the paed to weigh her but he will and I know for sure she will be less than what she weighed last friday when we were there. She was 5.2kg. I think because she was such a big weight at birth I am expecting her to be putting on more. So she has only put on just over 1kg since she was born 2 months ago! I am just so depressed and upset, I don;t know how much more I can handle.
I really have to pull it together for my girls, they deserve better, better than a desperate mother! I dunno, I don't khnow anything anymore...:gloomy:
Stacey, as far as I know losec is only used for reflux, which she has also but we tried her on zantac and it had no effect. I am going to call her paed again in the morning, I can't handle another day of it. It's so heartbreaking having to listen to her cry and scream:crying: and know she is hungry but refuses to eat and kicks and cries when I try to feed her.
I just know that ther is something else wrong.
Just can't wait till tomorrow now. Don't think I'll be getting much sleep tonight:no: .
I have just been crying all afternoon and night. She is finally asleep but looks so pale. I am not leaving the doctor's room tomorrow without an answer or a suggestion to what is wrong. I just want her better and feeding right. She should be drinking at least 150ml per feed, but all she can manage is 50ml now!
What do I do?!?!?
I just want an answer! Why?! Why?! WHY!?!?!?
Sorry I'm being such a sook. I know you all are having problems of your own and I hope you are sorting through them.
But this is the only place I know I can come and vent and say exactly what's on my mind and know you guys are here to listen (or read).
Thanks guys for being ther, we have all been through so much together already, I guess we all just have NEW problems now that all our babies are 'out'.
Kris, honey, you sound so upset... I really suggest phoning the hotline tonight... any hotline (I'm sure they are posted somewhere on bubhub - I'm sorry I don't have a number for you) and speak to a health professional who can perhaps give you some ideas, and if not, then at least some support and encouragement. You are facing such a difficult time in your baby's life and you shouldn't have to go through it alone. :hugs:
I would agree with you that you shouldn't leave the doctor's tomorrow unless you have answers - real answers. I hope it goes well for you and Kailah.
I remember how much pain you were in during the last month of pregnancy, so I really feel sad for you going through this with your little girl. :gloomy: It's not fair. I pray that things start getting better and soon enough this whole episode will be a faded memory.
Here's a joke for you (this is the only way I can think of to put a smile on your face)
Q: What do you call a camel with three humps?
A: Humphreys! :smiliedance:
Thanks Shannon.... it took me three goes to get it.... shows how tired I am.
it's 2.15a I have had about 2 hours sleep.....all because I bought DP a vaporiser for his cold and he put waaaayyy to much eucuplyptus oil in it gave me a headache I fell asleep on the sofa to which he woke me up deepest slep I have had in two days so toodle off to bed he has the dam vaporiser in the room...still snores etc Eliza must hate it too as she got all fussy so I am out on the sofa again...I am tired and just sick and over it..he told me last night he is lonely as I spend so much time with Eliza DER she needs me a lot I told him things have changed it won't always be so full on as she grows, but there is still no need for the hurtful comments...zero apology.. just cuddles me...not often I want to just sleep and wake up nothing happened always my fault it would seem.
I was worried I had PPD but I don't thannk goodness
I am so going to sleep today all phones off
Kris - You are not a sook!! I would have had a breakdown by now and I only have one baby!! You are a wonderful mother and doing the best you can in your situation, i do hope you squeeze in for an appointment today, let us know how it goes. How did your night go?
DM - Did the rest of your night go ok?? Tell DP that if he wants to spend more time with you then he has to do so with Eliza too! He'll see more of you if he helps out with her won't he??!!! He needs a kick up the butt! :shame:
Thanks guys :hugs:
It's not all his fault, I hate telling people how I really feel but, I have been really stressed, I didn’t tell anyone no one, no one on this forum not one person, I have been really trying to hold it together for DP after what happened with my c/section and it all got to much, I have been short tempered with DP and he has been pretty nasty back..so we had a argument, which after 2 days and several hours I said “why does no one ever ask me, how I feel about what happened, emotionally” he was shocked and said but you have been fine…so it all came out.
Visted my DR. who told me scar is not infected YAY and today I rang her, she was still waiting for my medical records and she says no I am fine to have more children etc ( my biggest fear was that I wouldn’t be able to) and to always tell any medical person I have had a blood transfusion.
So still gotta talk to the hospital about the way we were treated, but I feel so much better about things…..
Milestones I have little idea when babies are meant to be doing things but Eliza can roll onto her side to touch her toys and roll on to her back..not quite her tummy yet….She can hold her head pretty well too…
Shes on another growth spurt I think as shes feeding like mad DP said to me this morning he can’t believe how huge my boobs are then he said “do you think they will sag after she finishes” lol
She also smiles when you smile at her very cute!
I am still very tired as I haardly slept, had a nap, gotta sort some stuff out here but going to nap again today!!
thanks again:hugs:
Wow kris - hope everything works out for you and kailah - I can only imagine how hard it must be...
Nat - Hope you feel better too....My DH is ****tin' me major lately....
Had my MIL stay here since sat and My ******* God, she did not leave lily alone, picked her up all day while she was snoozin and constantly held her and now she is all out of her routine.... I am soo set in my wake, feed, play, feed, sleep routine that I was getting so frustrated just watching her shove 8weeks work down the drain!!!
And now I am contradicting myself by writing this but (lol)....
was at woolies the other day and lily was being sooo cute smiling from in her pram at all the stuff so I opicked her up and this women said to me that you should only pick up a crying baby...What the?? Bubbas want snuggles all the time and lily is a snuggly bub and If i want to cuddle my baby I will......Anyway - Enough of my rant.... (sorry bout the spelling)
Hi everyone!!
It seems a lot of us are going through a rough patch... hope everything improves for everyone!!
Cooper has been doing well - first four weeks were really hard, but he seems to be settling down now - which is great!!!! He only wakes up once per night, even slept through one night! I couldn't figure out why there were birds chirping during the night lol, did click on that it was morning until after his feed. Breastfeeding is finally easy! I am so glad that i stuck with it, very nearly didn't tho.
Has any one else had the needles done yet??? It is horrible!!!!! I nearly cried yesterday!Poor little guy!! But before we got his needles done he kept smiling at the doctor which was great! I have to get an ultrasound today to find out if there is still a bit of placenta left in there... as not feeling one hundred percent (do any new mothers actually feel a hundred percent????) and also have an inflamed cervix, so hopefuly everything is ok.... any one else had similar troubles???
Well Cooper is awake again and in need of some mummy love, so will hopefully catch up with everyone again soon!!

Nizzma W/B long time no hear, glad everything is going well I hope everything with you turns out OK as well...let us know :hugs:
Well I went to my mum's group and was very surprised to find Robin Parker as a guess speaker there for us April mummies so that was good + all the other women were very nice, just great to meet other girls who live close by and have babies of similar ages.
Eliza has been awesome today, I have got heaps done :)
Eliza has two teeth coming through:eek: you can see them on the bottom..would explain her dribbling n grizzly-ness + fussing at some of her feeds....So early!!!
OH and weighed her today 11lb 2oz!!
Hi all!!!
Sorry Shazzbutt!!! will send some more pics soon!!! Had the ultrasound today, no idea of the results yet, won't know until tomorrow... but omg my brain has gotten so much worse since i had coop!!! i struggled for ages with a door that had a pull sign on one door and push sign on the other (double doors) but one of the doors was locked so my little brain got all confused and just couldn't open it, a girl in the waiting room helped me out tho which was good lol.... talk about dumb!!! just had to share lol

Hi there,
Well i have been so busy i havent even been able to log on and read.
This is just a quick post to say hi and hope you are all doing well with the bubba's
My little Mini Coop is doing well, hes getting to be a little fatty and farts all the time. He is so much like his father.
No teeth yet here Nat but i remember my first baby boy got them at 3 months, hope Eliza feels better.
Coop has been sleeping from about 10.30-4.00am - is this about right or are you guys all getting sleep? I think Tyler #1 was sleeping through at this age.
I got addicted to Ebay, i read on here to have a look and now im buying everything.
I have listed all my brand new baby girls clothes that i hade bought before i had Cooper. So have a look if you want some cute stuff. If you bid and win i will discount the postage for Bub hubbers. My seller id is krunch_h or msg me.
well i better go feed Coop and jump into bed.
Nite everyone
chat soon
Hi all just a quik post...
Kailah was addmitted to hospital. Not feeding ver well.
Got sent home today but not by her paed and he is now pi$$ed and I have to call him first thing in the morning and he will probably re admit her as she is still feeding poorly and very sleepy and crying lots.
Will keep you updated when I can.
:hugs: to all mums and bubs.

hi!
Just using my lst 30 secs online to pop in and say hi!
Had to do some netbanking and check my budget :D so easy to go nuts on the spending up here. Weather is sensational, kids having a ball, and so are the grown ups. I'm so relaxed I wouldn't be disapointed if we came home today. 4 days left... movieworld tomorrow...
Hope you are all well :) will catch up when I get home ( and get puter sorted...something wrong with my dsl modem at the moment.)
Kisses to all the bubs..
K.
Quick update....
Kailah is home but I have to monitor her feeds and record them, call the paed this arvo and in the morning and then see him monday.
She is still not herself but is starting to improve.
All the tests came back clear so he is putting it down to a viral infection...?
She is still not drinking half what she should be but is starting to drink a little more.
Hope all are well.
:hugs:
Kris.
Hey all!!
That is great that Kailah is improving Kris! Hope it continues for you both. How is Em coping with having a new little sister??
Got my ultrasound results today - i don't have to go to hospital!!! YAY!!!! :smiliedance: :yelclap: I am very glad i hate hospitals! But am still waiting on more results to see what antibiotics i have to go on for my "angry" cervix lol. Get to go to the dentist tomorrow - yay!!! I absolutely hate the dentist but it is going to be sooooo good not to have this horible tooth ache any more, i hav had it for a month now... firstly had to wait two weeks to get an appointment, then they didn't fix it properly, i gave it a week to settle down and it got worse  so then had to wait another week for an appointment and finally getting it fixed tomorrow, i can't wait to be pain free! Maybe then i can start to get better lol.
Kristy - my cooper sleeps generally from 10 till 3.30 so sleeps the same amount of time... i think it is just great after him waking up a hundred times a night up unti lhe was four or five weeks... he even slept through one night when i was in Gympie, so i am very happy lol.
I can't believe some of the kids are teething already!!!!!! I have to say i am very scared of breastfeeding with a teething baby lol
Alrighty i am gonna head off... hope kailah gets better kris!!!!
Some links to pics of Cooper below if any one is interested...

Kris sorry to hear about Kailah ny goodness poor baby, shes to little to suffer not to mention you have to cope with everything else! Em looks ver pertty in your new avatar!!
Keara thanks for dropping in and glad you're having a good time :D
Nizzma :smiliedance: Glad to hear you're in the all clear, that would of sucked if you had retained products. Angry cervix lol sorry but how did you make it angry come on tell us lol
Finally I have a meeting organised with the hospital next week. To talk about what went wrong with my c/section and how long I have to wait before we TTC again.
Eliza has been very clingy and fussy since tuesday, could be her gums..need to go to a compound chemist get some pain relief made up for her. I can't even put her down to nap in the day time:rolleyes: she wakes up straight away.
Nat, thanks, Emily is much prettier in person....
Kailah drank 600ml yeaterday!:smiliedance:
She has been smiling alot more today which is just lovely!
She is also the same, won't let me put her down, very clingy. I nurse her all day practically! But she is not well so I don;t mind.
Just means I have an excuse as to why the house work doesn't get done and I can sit on here for a while.
Nizzma, glad to hear your don't have retained products but not so good about the angriness....not sure what to say...how do you get an angry cervix...?
That is great that kailah is drinking more!!!!!! :smiliedance:
As for the "angry" cervix, i think it got a bit cranky about pushing a baby out with no warning lol....
Coop is very clingy today too... he has a stuffy nosepoor littl dude... he had a full nights sleep again, woke up at 6 soi am very happy today lol
Any ideas on how toclear a blocked nose???
Nizzma, it's called FESS and its great! It's a saline spray for nose.
Works a treat! You can get it at any chemist.
Hey girls,
Nizzma, are you breastfeeding? If so, you can squirt some milk up his nose, I know it sounds awful and will make him splutter a bit, but it helps to melt the stuffiness and he can sneeze it out. Worked with my DD anyway.
Kris, I am so pleased Kailah is on the mend, great news. Hope she continues to go from strength to strength.
Keara, glad to hear the holiday is going well. The burning question is, how's your hair holding up?
Trix, love the photos on the yahoo site.
Nat, wow teeth already. You'll have to be extra careful about feeding Eliza to sleep as the milk can pool around the teeth causing decay. Hope her gums feel better soon, have you tried rubbing on some bonjela? Good luck with the meeting at hospy. You'll be TTC as soon as you can :fingerscrossed:
I met two ladies at the park today, both are pregnant with their fourth babies, and I thought I was struggling with a baby in a sling, a toddler in the stroller and a schoolgirl behaving badly. No more for me :D . I sure will miss those baby moments though, like the windy smiles and little coos that Carla makes now.
Can't wait to get my camera back from repair. How's this - I sent it off with a "repair limit" of $250, and they quoted me $251.50 plus GST - unbelievable. I find it impossible to believe that is a coincidence, am getting it fixed though because the new ones the same cost $700. It's an expensive lesson - don't leave cameras where 2 year olds can get them.
OK gotta go, little girl needs boobie.
xx
:banghead: so I have a uterine prolaspe going to hospital tomorrow for them to have a look and decide what to do..God I don't think I can even describe how over "medical issues" I am.
And god warning on a major b!tch fest :D
MIL sent more boys clothes from garage sales for a 4 year old boy and skirts for a 7 year old girl like WTF noooo I have bagged all the boys clothes up she can have them back
I dunno just feeling down again after discovering the prolaspe..+DP is sick currently at the DR'S must be bad you know men and DR'S lol so I am doing it all.
I just had enough, yet feel guilty for feeling this way I have so much to be happy for.
Well I have to put away all the cr@p his mother gave us..soft avocado's old potato's etc.
I need to win lotto lol
Honestly I think I must have my head in the clouds!!! I've just found you guys again!!!! :smiliedance:
So glad to hear that everyone's doing well and recovering from labours. Joel was born on the 9th of March - it was all a bit of a struggle but he's here so that's the main thing :)
I'm having an ok time at home. I have no family here in Brisbane so it's all about meeting up with new mums and putting myself out there. It's going well so far but it's still hard on those days where baby's not having a good one and you really just want your Mum to come and help out. She's arriving from NZ at the beginning of June so I'll be looking forward to that!
Oh and HAPPY MOTHERS DAY everyone. Hope you were all spoilt. I received french toast in bed this morning. Lovely!!!
Take care
Arna
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY EVERYONE!!!!
Hi Mummies,
Hope you all had a fab mother's day, especially the first timers, it's nice to be spoilt! My DD made me cornflakes and juice in bed, then had second breaky made by hubby - bacon and eggs on toast  (didn't need any lunch!) Got some lovely pressies and went out for dinner, saw my mum and MIL, and had 4 birthdays all on the weekend - very tired today! The kids had a ball though. May is a crazy month for our family.
Welcome back Arna, I remember you, hope things are going well with your bubba.
Nat, so sorry to hear about the prolapse, does that occur due to extended periods of pushing in labour?? Please explain, I am worried.:hugs:
Getting lots of smiles from Carla now, so lovely, and she is nearly 10lbs, I know, still tiny, but she started off small and is gaining well every visit. She now has two rolls of fat on each leg and two chins - just like mummy LOL.
Nite all
W/B Arna...:)
and Sally you gotta come more often lol
It thankfully isn't a prolaspe and they think it could be the anterior wall..Itell ya it hurt like hell when he looked..worst internal of my life I threw a punch at him he moved lol and screamed even the midwife asked him to stop..I have no idea why it hurt so much, but everything is where it's meant to be so thats good!
I feel like Eliza is giant compared to Carla shes already wearing 000 and they fit shes 5.08kilos hmm 11lb 2oz + a few more rolls on the legs soo cute.
She is also smiling when you smile at her the other day she laughed in her sleep..my goodness I will remember that for ever it was so cute!!
at the dreaded 6 week mark shes fighting sleep in the day if we're home and only sleeps if I put her in the sling and go for a walk which is fine but then I get nothing done around here! night times still fairly good.
ok bbl maybe ;)
Hi girls!
The smiles are just great arnt they!!! Cooper is smiling at everything now, he is 9 weeks tomorrow, he even smiled at the doctor! I visited a mate a week or so ago and he was constantly smiling at her 6 month old and three year old girls, it was sooo cute! He weighs over 6 kgs now!! so yeah breastfeeding is going well. I think he is getting over his cold now, still sniffly but getting better. He slept through the night again night before last which really shocked me because he was so snifly. But i have moved him into my room for now, just because he is sick and i worry too much about him not breathing and not hearing him.
I have noticed that Coop favours his left side, am wondering if he is going to be a lefty... like he always looks to the left, only occasionaly to the right, and he has started sucking his hand (about a week ago) and i have only seen him put his right in his mouth twice, andthat was yesterday. Any one else noticed anything like that? or know if it means anything??
Gosh Eliza has slept heaps today I have even thought about pumping she has slept that much, has me all worried, yet I have loved it got so much done + my arms have been given the most rest in 5 weeks truly wonderful..but I hope shes OK I am sure she is...I think it's the 6 week growth spurt happening..anyone else notice when they sleep they are like a dog whimpering and their facial expresions/noises and feet moving so cute!
Hmm I hope she stays this way :o
so I went to buy nappies yesterday bag of 48 infant huggies in our local shop $26.75!! I didn't buy them came home asked DP when he went shopping how much did he pay for the 48 pack he told me $17 my god what a rip off the local shops have on us!! grrr
We are going to buy a new car me thinks..I will miss our old one so much we have driven all around Australia in it..very sentimental! But only two seats so quite limited with the baby
I bought some BFeeding tops and I have to say I love them so happy I spent the money, bit expensive but worth it.
I can't shift the last 2 kilos off my butt why oh why didn't I get lipo when I had the ceaser :D
so the meeting with hospy will now be next week as the Dr couldn't make it tomorrow it has worked out much better as I told them to book it on the same day as my 6 week check up yee harr only one bus trip!
for those of you with car seats any recomendations? want one that is a capsule/carseat forward/backward facing.
OK toodles xx
only typing in lower case cos little miss is clingy and wont let me put her down.
i think my shop sells the 48 infant for bout the $22 mark also, its such a rip off! i'm annoyed they don't make them in the bulk packs, she seems to be staying in these for quite a while, might just put her in the crawlers when i'm finished this pack.
don't worry bout 2 kilos! i'm stuck on 5 kilos! gotta actually do some exercise i think! been meaning to, its not like i'm lazy, i just haven't got the time!! and when i want to go for a walk, the weather is ****!
Nat - what exactly is prolapse?? is it when your insides want to come out?? if so that is what i thought i had in the first few weeks, i was sooo worried, its only just started feeling better now. Been very bad and haven't done any pelvic floor exercises, again, its a time issue!
Nizzma - i love little indi's smiles, trying so hard to catch it on camera, having some troubles! got it on video though.
aaah she's finally let me put her down and didn't wake up! YAY! **just had to come back and edit this - she woke up 2 minutes later, i've picked her up again** she's got me twisted around her little finger already!!
Sorry Nat - don't know any car seats that good. We've got two, we hired one capsule for one car and have a forward/backward facing carseat for the other.
How well does everyones baby sleep at night?? and how often do they feed?? That is, if there is a routine yet!
Indiana generally sleeps from 11ish til 5ish. Then has 3-4 hourly feeds during the day.

:D Evening ladies
Just finished having a catch up read. We're home now and very relaxed... Should carry me till next year. I think I had the best time, no cooking, cleaning, no pick up or drop off... just blissful days by the pool or lunching in surfers. We ended up doing dreamworld and movie world, even though we said we'd stick to just one park. It was worth it, I went on every scary ride, and this time, DD was tall enough to come on a few with me. She ended up going on the claw 4 times, and was peeved that she was too small for lethal weapon and the new superman ride when we went to movieworld. (OMG the superman ride is great!) The theme parks were siperquiet so we got to ride without long waits, took the liluns to all the kids rides, and wiggle bay, which is way overrated! The resort was sooooo child friendly, the kids club was a highlight for both them and us! We put them in every second day for a 3.5 hour session, while we strolled to surfers with Thomas and had lunch/shopping in peace. I've piled on the weight though :o doh!
Thomas is getting huge and is so happy and chatty! I have a MCHN appointment on thursday, I only go to get him weighed and measured for my own record. I think he'll have gained plenty... I haven't had him jabbed yet, he's due now though:( it's the worst thing seeing them so upset.
Kris I hope little Kailah is ok, big hugs to yo and your family.
Sally, the hair held up noicely:laughing: my god it's nice to wash my hair then forget about it!
I hope all the mamas had a wonderful Mothers Day!
Trix yep a prolaspe is where things fall out or slip lower! But it isn't thank goodness.
Stacey we have a two seater convertiable but we're going to buy a new on soon :)
Keara Glad to hear you had an awesome time in QLD
Well went to mums group, I really enjoy it nice mixed bunch of girls all around the same sorta age. Got a lil :o as Eveyone was talking about the hours of crying they have with their baby and I haven't had that with Eliza she's such a quiet baby she gripes a little but no crying tis a good thing.
Shes still sleeping through the night so this morning I expressed as my boobs were like rocks and hurt like ****! got 60mls outta one boob my goodness hoping that over time will get a few bottles in the freezer and be able to go out to yoga once a week although that feels rather optimistic at this stage! leaving her that is not the yoga have done a little bit the past week, also been doing it with Eliza in the bath she loves it!
OK going to do some online shopping grocery shopping lol just realised I have a shopping problem lol
hope everyone is well
ohh and I popped some new piccys on Eliza's website, thanks for the comment Tania :D

Niss, Cooper is absolutely gorgeous! I think he looks like both his Mummy & Daddy, but mostly you. He looks very grown up for 9 weeks. Was the first piccy professionally done? It turned out beautifully!
Good to hear he's started to sleep through for you (or were they flukey nights?). It gives you your sanity back huh? Well, kind of anyhow ;) ....i don't think you ever get it TOTALLY back! lol
Good to hear from you anyhow! Take care!
Eliza laughs in her sleep but not when shes awake it's so funny :laughing:
Has anyone had any thoughts on going back to work??
After looking at our budgets, looks like I may have to go back to work part-time in the next couple of months!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm SOOOOOOOO UPSET ABOUT IT!!! I sooo wanted to spend an entire 12 months with my little girl. :crying:
awww Trix I am sorry..I am not going back to work lucky for us all I a, able to stay home. I just can't imagine how you feel..well I kinda can heartbroken.
Can you work out a budget? or just do part time?:hugs::hugs:
Thanks Shan!!! Yeah the first one was done prof. One pic cost $60!!!! i couldnt believe it!!! but also couldnt say no lol... but i had no idea they cost that much!! And any you dont buy they shred!! what a waste!!!
Cooper slept through again last night and also the night before last.... BUT, he didn't sleep ALL day yesterday and didnt get to sleep until quarter past 12 last night, the most he slept wasfor little 5 minute stints!! he only cried when i was vacuuming (took me almost 2 hours!! Only cuz i had to stop and comfort him cuz he kept getting himself in a state) but other then that he was all smiley. Idont know what the deal is with that, but i thought it was really strange - it has to be unhealthy for a baby not to sleep for that long!! But then he has slept most of today, so i dont know what is going on!!!
As for the work thing, i was offered a full time position at the real estate where i used to work in an admin job, but was offered a property management position which was a big pay rise from what i was doing before i had bub. They gave me a day to think about  I ended up choosing to stay home, as i had enough trouble leaving ds with my sil for 20 minutes let alone a stranger 5 days a week. But even if i did go back i wouldnt be getting enough money to get by (i am a single mum) because the amount i would get after child care doesnt end up being enough to pay rent etc. So my decision was made up for me i suppose. That said, I fully intended to go back to doing Saturdays as soon as Coop was settled, so by the time he was 7 or 8 weeks, and his Grandma was going to look after him, but they told me they had sorted it out and didnt need anyone, so now i have no job at all. So in the end i decided to wait to buy my house lol... or it was decided for me lol...
Just an idea... have you ever thought of going into childcare?? Cuz if you work at the same childcare where bub is, you will still get to spend time with them, and know they are ok... Or if there are other places that let you take bub along if they exist?
I am going back to wotk next month:gloomy:
I NEED to. We are so broke. After we pay the car rego end of next month we will have nothing left:(
I am not looking forward to it at all.
Wish I could stay home a few more months but it's just not possible:thumbsdown: .
Kailah has been ok. Very fussing at feed time but I manage to get a decent amount into her.
Have to get her weighed next week, I really hope she puts on some weight.
I think she was the biggest march baby born but is probably the smallest now.
I think because she was so big born, I just assume she should still be on the big side.....? Oh well.
Kris glad to hear kailah is getting better thats the main thing. grr at you having to go back to work!!
I had blocked milk ducts today OH-MY-*******-GOD it really, really hurt and Eliza would not take the breast and cried every time I offered it to her...but after a lot of heat massage and sitting through her crying she latched on and has drained it...relief!!!!
grr i nicked the skin on her finger again trimming her nails :shame: on me.
OKAY!
Well Kailah is going back down hill again and I just KNOW something is wrong!
DH thinks I'm an idiot, but what baby takes 40 min to drink a bottle and kicks and cries the whole time....?!?!?!?!?!!!!!
He is a D!(K!!!!! We were in a huge fight over it last night.
Spoke to her paed this morning and I have to call him back at 3 this arvo, and if she is still the same (which she will be) after stopping her medication, he will do more tests ad maybe put her back in hospital!!!!
Does this **** ever end!
Man! I am just so upset right now, can't believe this!
I think there is something wrong with her mouth and/ throat or SOMETHING!!! This is just not right. DH (being the idiot he is) says, "All babies are different you know. Maybe that's just her! Why don't you get a full time job, I'll stay at home if you can't handle it or don't want to be here." ****!!!!!! Man he ticks me off! PR!CK!!!!!
Well, I'll let ya'll know what's happening this arvo, if we are going back to hospital.
Kris I am sure you hubby is trying to be helpful..but yes there is time for tact and that's now!!
Poor Kailah :( does she have a high palate? I read somewhere that can make feeding very hard for babies.
Well I just got all my groceries delivered now to put missy down!

:hugs: Kris you poor thing! Follow your instincts and don't be fobbed off... Your DH should be on your team, not against you... after all you spend the most time with your child so YOUR the expert!
Keep us up to date ++++++++vibes to little Kailah...
Kris - good luck with the paed. Hopefully this can be sorted out for you all. As for your DH, he was just probably trying to comfort you, i know how stressing it is to have a screaming baby, and he was probably just trying to help. Dont stress yourself out too much. I know, easier said then done. But my thoughts are with you!!! Good luck this arvo!!!
Kris, i can't imagine how stressful it must be for you. And like Keara said, follow your instincts! Don't let anyone tell you you're paranoid! Anyway, if it turns out to be nothing and little Kailah gets better on her own, its always best to be worried and paranoid than not caring!!
thinkink of you kris and hoping all goes well - Jamie:hugs:
OK what's with everyone changing their name? I am getting a little confused:confused: , I get who is who for now though.....
Kris I came back hoping for an update from you, hope you get some good news from the paed today. As for your DH, here's wishing you get some support from him, you'll need that if you are going back to work and leaving Kailah with him, or anyone else for that matter. :hugs: will be thinking of you.
Lucky for me I have not worked for nearly 6 years. All my wage would go in childcare anyway, so there is not much point. Plus being away from my kids for no financial benefit - well it's a no-brainer really.
Be back soon - will try anyway, I have no free time any more.
I changed my name due to certain in laws reading all my posts and it was really peeving me....
I wont be going to work either as it would cost us an arm and leg to put two in full time care...am hapy at home now and loving it..:smiliedance:
Yes I changed my name to include Eliza's nickname :D
Well we bought our new car yesterday, will be delivered sometime this week, kinda sad to see our old one go as we drove around Aus in it...but hey ho!
I am also back to my pre-preg weight, treated myself to a new pair of size 10 pants, but still want to lose about 10 more kilos.
Eliza is very well growing so much hardly any of her 0000 fit her she even has one jump suit that is 00
xx
Hi everyone.
Sorry i didn't update you all as to what the paed said.
He basically said to stop her meds and make her wait a full 4 hours to feed her to see if that makes a difference. But so far that really hasn't made any difference. She took 50 min to drink one time yesterday.
He also said that if it made no difference then he would investigate it further, by doing some tests...have no idea what kind of tests. I just want her to feed right. Have to call him in the morning and see what he wants to do now.....*sigh*
Can i ask others who are FF how long it takes your bub to drink a bottle and how much they drink in one sitting?
I am just exhausted not as she takes so long and I am not allowed to let her sleep through the night ( she was sleeping around 6-8 hrs a night) so now I am up at 4 and don't get back to bed till around 5 then up again with Em at 6.... sometimes I just stay awake, not much point going back to sleep for a measly half hour or so.
Anyways, good to see your back Jamie, and glad you had a well deserved holiday Keara. Hope everyone else is well.
:hugs:
Kris.
Hey All -
Nat - What sort of car did you get??? I felt that having a baby really hit home when we had no 1 and had to buy our new car - it just felt so surreal until then. It was like we are a real family now we have a car that can fit a car seat and a pram!!! (silly I know) Even now we have a new commodore but we are looking at 6 & 7 seaters as the kids Are older and have more friends over and I am forever going to netball and other sports and taking the kids friends with me so I think we will upgrade soon.
Kris - Lily is on 200ml now (karicare) and she is having a growth spurt so will wake at 4am she will drink 80ml - burp - then have at least another 80ml then another burp. This takes at the most 30mins
During the day she will have her first half then have a burp then a play then the rest. It definetley does not take her 50mins to just have her bottle (she is a guzzler though). So hopefully this helps you out a bit...Thinking of you and :fingerscrossed: you will have answers soon!!
:hugs: Jamie
Flo:D we bought a Honda Jazz VTI-s big enough for us for the time being anyway, We had a two seater sports car before, very, very hard to let it go let me tell you!
Kris how frustrating for you all thinking of you all :)
Hi girls,
Flo, that's annoying about the inlaws, isn't it? When I talk to "real";) people about bubhub I just call it a "parent's chat room" so hopefully I don't get any stalkers that way.
Carla has been really smiley lately, it just melts me, I love it. She was laughing in her sleep too Nat, and it made me think about Eliza in the middle of the night! Carla is growing fast too, 0000 don't fit anymore and some of the 000 are getting tight. Time to visit Pumpkin Patch again, as I have vouchers to use :yelclap:
Kris, I am also wondering what tests could possibly be done on Kailah? I'm hoping she comes good without them though.
Wow nat 4000 posts, that's huge! when are you going to start moderating??
I have a smelly nappy to change, see you later.
Hi everyone - how r things going.
Kris - I am sorry to hear that you are still having trouble with Kailah. Poppy is a bit of a guts but she downs her bottle in about 15 - 20 mins that's including stopping to burp. I had a friend who had the same problem and it turned out to be that little one had a hole near the back of the pallet ( quite common apparently ) which stopped her from sucking properly. She had to have a little procedure to seal it and then she was good as gold.
Nat - Glad you found a car. We have a Ford Territory and I still find it hard to fit everything in especially when I do the shopping.
I have made a web page for Poppy if anyone is interested in having a look. It's

Hi all, sorry to just jump in, but was reading with interest the other March mummies comments and noticed the question on how long it takes for the bubs to finish a bottle, my ds guzzles his bottle too fast I think, 130mls goes in less that 6 minutes with the slowest flow teats etc, I am expressing and bottle feeding as my nipples are continuously damaged, he think he sucks too hard and fast - does anyone else have a problem like this or is 6 minutes normal?

Hi Rabbits Mum - Don't worry at all. Poppy was the same when she came of the boob and like you I had very sore nipples from her sucking to hard. What I did to try to slow her feeds down a little cause she was getting far to much wind was to let her drink for about 30 sec then I would pull the bottle out, stick in her dummy and burp her for a couple of mins. I would do this 3 - 4 times during the feed.
I also found that if I went even 10 mins over the time she would feed she would guzzle it more so I made sure I was feeding her every 3 1/2 hours. Now that she is drinking 180ml she now has 4 hours apart.
Hope this helps. All it sounds like to me is that your bub loves milk like mine :) Just PM me anytime if you wanna chat.
Amy
Wow - I think my bubba must be huge as i put a 000 jumpsuit on and all the buttons popped open at the legs..LOL - she fits them in length but not in width.
Sorry if TMI....
Just wanting to know if any one had thier first "monthly" yet - bubs is nearly 10 weeks and I still have not had one?????
Nat - Bet you cannot wait to zip around in the new car!!!
CnC - my chubba bubba is sooo smiley as well -It comes to the point where I cannot smile or talk to her while feeding as she smiles back and all the milk goes everywhere!! I am also loving all the goo's and gaaa's - Makes my heart melt!!!
I agree with Sally I don't tell anyone I am on a forum, just because it's a place for me to come, but I do realise my friends with kids might actually discover it lol.
Moderating err I don't think I have the tact or time for it Sally lol..I use to moderate on another website it's really time consuming!
I will stick with talking my brains out lol
I have photographed Eliza so much but feel a bit sad as I have hardly any of her with either of us, must really start to make the effort to have some pictures of all of us together.
I have worked out a new thing/routine in regards to Eliza's reflux, burping more often and not letting her feed for too long! like too long as in 2 hours!
ok I have some pictures to work on!

Bbbbbbbbbrrrrrrrr it's beginning to feel a lot like winter!
We're moving out of 0000's and filling out a 000 quite noicely  I can't beleive how quickly the time FLIES! Thomas is Mr SmileyThunderdaks now, and very verbal.... I love it. I'm totally smitten, in love, head over heels ga ga about this little man. As far as feeding goes, Thomas scoffs, coughs, splutters, looks bewildered and then goes back for more... over 6 to ten minutes, then he's done.
I've not had AF yet, but I'm spotting regulary which really annoys me. I had 2 years period free with DD and I'm hoping it's the same this time around.
Busy weeks ahead for me, checking out the local special school for DS this week, attending an autism workshop... Getting reports organised for a review of his diagnosis in July. Birthday party time for DD, I've booked a Dotti Disco party- found them in Melbournes child, I think it will be nicer than last years playcentre do... At least there will be no roughnuts there as they come to your home.
Lot's of cleaning out of outfits and shoes that no longer fit, both Thomas and my youngest DD... I have heaps of stuff to get rid of. Busy busy busy ! I couldn't survive without my little break time at bubhub :ecomcity:
Hey all!!!
Whinge time lol - about 6 weeks ago i had a massive tooth ache from a filling that fell out, so i went to the dentist to get it fixed ($210 for a temp. filling), went home still numb and pain free. After the needle started wearing off i got more pain, but worse, so i waited a few days cuz the dentist told me to wait a few days for it to settle down, and called them back to book me back in cuz the pain was worse, so they booked me in two weeks down the track (annoyed at the fact that i had to wait so long). When i got in there, i told the dentist all my symptoms, he checked all my teeth and told me that none of the teeth would be causing that much pain, but gave me another filling (more bloody money) and sent me home. Pain still didnt go away but i left it a week - just in case. I didnt know what to do as the dentist told me it wasnt my teeth, and i didnt want to go in and spend more money. So i made an appointment at the Drs and she told me that i had Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction, which is basically a faulty jaw joint, that is really painful. She also told me that the dentist should have told me that. And also that getting dental work done can make it more painful. So now i am just really really peeved at the dentist cuz it was easy enough for them to tell me that, and my Dr picked up on it straight away and she isnt into mouth things!!!!! All the stupid dentist wanted was money!!!!!! Grrrrr. And cuz i m breastfeeding i cant take the anti inflametries so have to wait for it to clear up itself :crying:
But onto other things lol Cooper is also really smiley - must be the age!! How good is it!!!!! He is also sleeping really well at night which is great!! (i just wish i could sleep lol stupid mouth lol)
Cooper feeds from anywhere fromten minues to an hour, depending on his mood, so not much help there lol.
As for the period factor, i only stopped bleeding two weeks ago so i will be really annoyed if i get mine soon lol, but surely it would be a while before getting it back??
Sorry for the big whinge, i am just really cranky with the dentist people...
Finally settled into a routine at work. Getting over the flu didn't make things easy though. And crossing fingers, I think Matthias is finally starting to sleep longer at night! Woohoo. Last night he went from 9 till 1.50 and then 2.40 to 6. Usually he only sleeps on lot of 4-5 hours and then it's back to his three hourly feed.
Eliza smiles and it looks like she can have you dancing to her tune haha. Then again I think Matthias does the same to me. He loves when I read to him in the afternoon. He beams and cooes and tries to bat the book. As for the rivers of vomit or projectile vomit, for Matthias it was swallowing too much air. I just make sure he has a nice big burp or several before I put him down to sleep. I've found little milk spots all over the bars of his cot. Didn't notice the dried milk on the blankets till I looked closely.
Nat, my boobs stopped leaking for two weeks. And now I've started again. Especially at night. I think you leak whenever your boobs have to adjust. Now that he's going longer between feeds. He was 2-3 hours for a long time, my boobs are getting back to that newborn engorged stage. I have washables. I was just spending far too much on breastpads. I got them from Kmart. And wow, two teeth peeking already! Matthias is teething on and off, dribbles galore but no sign of teeth yet.
Stacey, Matthias wasn't in Huggies Newborn very long. I think two weeks. Then I tried BabyLove because I couldn't find Huggies Infant. Babylove gave him a terrible rash and wipes made it even worse. I can finally use wipes again. I absolutely love Woolies nappies and wipes! He's in crawler now. Not because he can but because he's 7.5kg.
Wow Crystal, you're brave. I'm not ready to get pregant again and I think managing, not to mention birthing another one is a long way off for me. We haven't really resumed sex yet. Sorry if TMI.
Trix, I think the FF sleep longer or full longer is a myth. I tried Matthias on the bottle for one feed, didn't last any longer than a normal feed but boy was his poo like a pond in his nappy. He was swimming. I used a Karicare infant soy sample from a friend.
Kris, I really hope Kailah is doing better now. I know how sad and frustrated you must feel. Matthias had a bad reaction to Daktarin but I just wasn't cluing into the problem. He'd vomit more than half his feed and after 40mins of BF you just want to cry. It took over a month to get rid of the thrush and three treatments. The last - Nilstat, being the one to work. Although he had bad wind throughout. They say the dying yeast causes it. Not nearly as scary or heartbreaking as having a bub in hospital though. Prayers she's picking up.
And I tried catching up but I'm still four pages behind. Hope mummies and babies are well. Matthias is doing well. Big boy, about 7.5kgs. We haven't been to the nurse in a month. Our next appoinment is 31st. So I'll find out how big he actually is. He's got long limbs, all his weight seems to be in his bones, cause he really isn't a fat baby.
I must check into Yahoo next time I get some free time. There must be loeads of new pics.
:hugs: everyone. Take care.
hmm I stopped bleeding 3 weeks ago but have had that ovulation pain but not much else little bit of spotting...and I am BF
Hi everyone!
Since we are all talking about it - I stopped bleeding by the 2nd week and I was breastfeeding at that stage. I'm no longer breastfeeding but miss monthly still hasn't arrived. Been getting pains on and off, no signs yet.
Indi drinks her bottle in about 15-30 minutes (depending how tired/hungry she is) with a couple of burps in between.
I went to work on Monday :crying: my mum babysat Indiana for me. I missed her so so much, i almost cried when i got to the office!!! :( :crying:
I'm trying to get Indiana into a bit more of a routine these days, she's been so grizzly! Is it only me or does anyone else still feel like there is no sleep/eat/play routine??? Is it too early to expect one? The only thing I can rely on is that she'll be hungry 3-4 hourly with about a 5-6 sleep during the night.
Keara, It is freezing here too yesterday it was 11C!! All day!
Nizzma Ouch that sounds very painful and you need a new dentist, they love to screw people.
Kimmy Matthias is sleeping very well, I agree I must get some washable breastpads $8 a box is just getting to much per week I use 2 boxes.
Trix I am in no routine as I really don't need to be, but unless shes starving I get her up from her sleep check her nappy, let her wake up for 10 minutes in her rocker or my arms feed her, now if she stays awake after her feed I sit her up for 1/2 hour with some music on and talk to her play peek-a-boo which she loves :D or put her in her play gym and she bats the toys around for a while that is pretty much how it goes all day!
Major acheivement yesterday I managed to get her to go to sleep in her cradle with a dummy had to hold it there for a while lol, put her fisher price aquarium on which plays music + wave souunds and rocked the cradle and she drifted off for 1 hour marvellous!!! I made it super soft in there so it's warm and cosy! So proud of her :D
Well we get our new car today, we went to our old one last night and I sat in it and cried..so many memories:crying: ah well
ok hope everyone is well xx
Nizzma, sorry to hear about your jaw, that sounds really awful, and for the dentist to make it WORSE, that is unbelievably selfish of him. I wouldn't go back, find a new one.
No AF for me either, hoping for a year without it again, as I am also BF.
Carla has just moved up to infant size huggies, but newborns still fit her. With DS still in nappies it's costing me a fortune. I have him in babylove now, so he'll feel wetter and we can start using the toilet.
I'm using the washable nursing pads Nat, I find them far better than disposable, I stay drier anyway. I got the avent ones as they came with a wash bag so the "sock monster" doesn't get any - it can happen you know  ;) That's great about getting Eliza to sleep on her own, I'm sleeping with Carla at night, but she sleeps on her own during the day, happily goes down (usually). Enjoy the new car too, but it is sad to let the old one go. Hope you have some photos.
Kimmy, you sound happy. Good to hear the thrush is gone and you are in a routine, I guess you have to be if you are working.
Trix, are you easing back into work? or going part-time? It's lovely to have your mum to mind Indi, it would be worse to drop her in childcare at this age I think. Wish my mum was closer, we have to work around schedules just to see each other once a week, sometimes less.
Keara, you should check out "freecycle" if you are throwing the kids clothes away, unless you are bothering with ebay that is. I love clearing out all my cupboards as well, I just need a week to myself.
Catch you all later.
Nat - I am trying the "go to sleep by yourself thing" too - It works if she wakes at night but during the day she wants to be rocked...very time consuming but I have to admit I kinda love it as I know I am not having another bubba..
Well me and Dh have decided to move back to melb (not for the weather though)....We are originally from there and have lived here in QLD for 3 years but we misss all our friends and the life - wont be for about 9mths but there is so much to plan that I bet the time flies.... Cant wait to go shopping (sorry qld but your shops are nothing compared to Melb!!)
Anyway - bubs is squawking so off for another feed....

Keara, you should check out "freecycle
Funny you should mention that! I just joined a few days ago. I have to sort through what is going to my sister, then the rest can go frrecycle. I've thought of heaps of other stuff I could put on there too :)
Hi Everyone,
Nat - It's great when they can go to sleep on their own. Lucky enough for me Poppy has done that from day 1. Only if she has bad wind or reflux at times is when she needs to be held tight to drift off.
Well I am so happy this week, Poppy has been sleeping from 11pm at night til 6am in the morning ( yay finally some sleep ). She now drinks 180ml before bed and it knocks her for 6 :)
We are booked in for Poppy to get her needles tomorrow :crying: I am such a sook she we probably be fine it's mum who hates it.
I have updated Poppy's website if anyone wants to take a peak. I took a few photo's of her yesterday and put them up.
Hope everyone is well
Amy xx
Oh Sally I am so much happier. Tired but happy. When we were dealing with the thrush and vomiting, I was so depressed, and when you're exhausted all you feel like doing is crying.
Matthias goes down at 6-7 every night whether he's sleepy or not. Sometimes he'll just wriggle in his cot till he falls asleep. I found that having a regular bed time, means he has regular night feed times and a set wake up time. He's up at 6, 6.30 every morning. A killer on Sundays, but I just sleep again when it's his morning nap time.
God send - Rocker!! I wouldn't be able to work without it. When he's awake he'll play in his port-a-cot or on the floor but when he's grisly or cranky I just can't hold him or I'd get nothing done. So in the rocker he goes and I have one foot rocking it and work. He usually falls asleep in minutes.
Nat, it's strange I think the mini pill has given bleeds... And I have crampy pains. When I wasn't on them I didn't have any discharge or bleeding. And the leaking is getting worse. I use four washables a day now. After having a baby that fed every two hours to a bub that might have one boob every three to four hours, I'm worried he's starving himself. And my boobs are aching. I've stopped taking milk thistle in an effort to slow the milk production and flow. Because he goes so long between feds now my let down is almost instant and sprays us both.
Amy G, I'd love to sleep that long, but I don't think my boobs would let me. I don't know how some mum's coped when their bubs just did that overnight. I'm glad that Matthias seems to be letting me go gradually.
Nizzma, I hope you're feeling better. It's for that reason I'm terrified of the dentist. They always find something wrong and you always end up feeling a lot worse than when you wen there. Is it just me, or do they seem really rough?
Yay, I finally got some digital photos, uploaded from mum's camera, will post some on the yahoo site in the next few days :fingerscrossed:
I'm camera shy atm tho, still can't seem to move this extra weight off  . I refuse to buy any clothes, and am living in my trackies :(
I guess it doesn't help that DD's school has Cadbury fundraiser, and I bought the whole box :o
xx
Hi girls, well last night I posted this really big post and of course it gets lost in cyber space! I really hate it when that happens:mad:
Kailah's Paed said that everything seems ok and she put on 280grams in a week!!:smiliedance: And I am allowed to let her sleep through the night again!:smiliedance: No more setting the alarm to wake her up for a feed!!!!
He wants her to see a speech pathologist (I will just ask Emily's if she has time to fit her in too) to help with the feeding and sealing. She is still taking a long time to feed and dribbles alot so I hope that we can get that fixed up:fingerscrossed: . Oh and the paed said that Kailah is one of the prettiest babies he has ever seen! And he's seen alot! That made me feel good. I think she is gorgeous, and people stop me to say it too, which just confirms that I'm not just a silly biased mum with the 'love goggles' on! he he he!
I am getting my Depo shot tomorrow.....after that last period I NEVER want to have another period for the rest of my life!!!!
And Kailah is having her 2months needles (I know a little late but her paed sid to delay them till she was feeding a bit better)
So now my little butterfly weighs 5.62kg! I still think she's probably the smallest out of the march babies (but the biggest born)
Sally, love the new avatar! She is soooooo cute!!! and you look great!
It's cold anyways, so trackies are good!
Kimmy, glad to hear the thrush has cleared and things are settling. He is such a chubba bubba! WOW! I can't believe it, 7.5kg! You must be feeding him bricks! LOL
Nizzma, sorry to hear about the jaw! OUCH! I hope you start feeling better soon.
Nat, glad to here you finally got a car you can fit Eliza in, now you can take her near and far...lol. She'll probably love the car! Most babies do, puts them to sleep.
Hope everyone else is ok.
Can't remember what alse i wrot in my lost post but I think I covered most of it.
Hi Kris,
I am glad everything went well at the docs. Poppy had her needles today but she is fine I think it's just the initial pain of the needle that shock her then she seemed to be back to Poppy after that - smiling! . I am hopeless, I had tears in my eyes when I tried to comfort her. :crying:
Anyways hope everyone is well
Amy
Just thought Id add that I have made a web page for Kailah (inspired by Nat's for Eliza) I have been trying ot update when I can, ther is not much on it tho.
Here is the link:

CnC - i know what you mean about the weight. i put on 30kilos while preggers and so far have lost 16!!! i am also in trakkies as i refuse to buy clothes till i am back to 60kg but i have to admit that the eeight is coming of quite steadily and i am not dieting or stressing about it, so we shall see how i go. sorry about the text but holding bib while i type...ciao
I'm glad I'm not the only one Flo. It's hard to lose weight in winter, I feel like walking sometimes, but it's too cold for Carla, and DS won't keep up. The only thing I can do is put her in the sling and him in the stroller, but he screams and wiggles so much, I feel mean. Oh well, DH says there's more of me to love now, but I still want to make sure I don't stay this heavy forever. OK that's my whinge for the day.
Have a good weekend ladies.
Hi Kris,
Poppy had her needles today but she is fine I think it's just the initial pain of the needle that shock her then she seemed to be back to Poppy after that - smiling! . I am hopeless, I had tears in my eyes when I tried to comfort her. :crying:

Oh my little Indi is having her needles on Monday!!! I'm not looking forward to it - i'm going to cry more than she will!!
Are they all grizzly and grumpy afterwards?? I heard it can make them a little unsettled and maybe a temperature??
Hi Trix, Kailah had her needles today and she was fine until 4 hours after them when she started screaming! She has had a temp too but I've managed to keep it down with some panadol, she's really sleepy too. Poor little bubba won't let me touch where she had them either, must be sore:crying:
lily had her needles a couple of weeks ago and was fine. she cried initially but that was it. my ds had a bad reaction and his whole leg swelled for a few days and was sore to touch but no temp or anything. My gp said the major reaction was in the older days but now not as many kids have them.

I'm a march mama too - DD born on the 7th of March.
I only just discovered this thread :o Is it too late to climb on board?
oh poor babies that have to go through it!! I just know she'll look at me as she's screaming with eyes saying "what are you doing to me mummy!! Why aren't you helping me!!" i'm so not looking forward to it!
Wendy - Of course its not too late to climb on board!! WELCOME!! Tell us a little bout yourself!

:D yeay
Well, quick intro: I'm Wendy and our little girl, Sarah, was born on the 7th of March. My birthday (and my MIL's... there's a whole other story!) is on the 3rd. We had been ttc for about 2 years so she was the best birthday present ever!
Sarah had her first needles a few weeks ago too. She was so brave (much more than her Daddy who had to have a needle that day too!), though it broke my heart seeing the tears running down her little cheeks - "Why is this happening Mama?":crying:
She was ok for the next few hours, but got really sad and cranky that evening. A dose of magic panadol, lots of cuddles and she was right as rain the next day.

Oh, I forgot... Sarah has her own website which you can find here (http://www.faeml.com) - "Sarah's Story"
She has her own email address already. But then my dog has one too :o
I guess this is what happens when you marry into a family of computer nerds
Hello March Mummies!
So much to catch up on... I've been really busy and neglected my computer! :shame:
It sounds like everyone is doing well which is great to hear.
Laura was three months old on Thursday and is doing great. She is still tiny, about 5.4kg, but has a lovely personality (smiles all the time) and has totally ended that horrible witching hour in the evenings. She now sleeps from 8.30pm to 5am, and then after a feed, she'll go back down for another hour or two. Bliss!
We have a great time playing in the mornings so she doesn't usually take a daytime nap until the afternoon, which suits me fine. We have a pretty good routine, which she set entirely - I have always let her decide what she wants to do, and somehow that's just worked brilliantly for both of us.
I'm thoroughly enjoying my mum's group and can't believe how big my circle of friends has become! Laura seems to like it too. We had a reunion of our antenatal class today which was fun, and I think even DH enjoyed catching up and showing off our little girl!
Physically, I don't think my body has fully recovered from the birth. I didn't stop bleeding till about five weeks after she was born, and then when I started the mini pill I got a terrible period, but thankfully, nothing since. I am still tender where I had stitches as well. Breastfeeding is going well, although I had a bit of a scare on the weekend. I seemed to have blocked ducts in my right breast and it was really painful. Everyone was warning me that it could cause mastitis so I read every book I could about how to prevent it. I read that if you point bub's chin towards the lumps it helps release the blocked up milk. So I had to feed her football style and what do you know, it worked like a charm! I've also got the Avent washable pads but they are not thick enough for overnight, so I use Johnson ones.
I'm getting a blood test tomorrow to test my arthritis levels. I'll be seeing the rheumatologist next week to find out the results. I think I'll have to stop breastfeeding when I go back to work, because I don't think my hands will last if I have to type all day as well as come home to a baby and housework, etc. It's already very painful, and I almost dropped her one night. I have to be really careful now... I'm holding off taking stronger meds, as I really like breastfeeding her. The other problem is that she refuses to take a bottle. I've tried lots of ways to make her take it (as well as different teats) but she puts up a big protest. I'm not going to worry about it again until I have to go back to work. Perhaps she will take it when she is a bit older, and when she starts solids.
The weather up here is WONDERFUL! Still warm enough to wear shorts and t-shirts, but not hot at all. I'm still wearing summer PJs and Laura is getting around in singlets some days. In a way I'm glad it's not cold like down south... it's too much of a drama putting layers of clothes on her, especially if she ends up chucking up over them!
Well, I've rambled on enough... hope you are all well and happy and getting plenty of sleep, smiles and support. xxx :)
One last thing... I noticed everyone is sharing their websites, so I guess I will too...
http://www.babysites.com/sites/lauraamelia/
Hey Shannon, so good to hear from you!
Laura has grown so much! 5.4kg! Thats not small, Gosh! Kailah is 5.6kg now (she has had troubles putting it on)
Just had to post as I am very happy ATM.
Kailah has been drinking in reasonable time...20-30 min now an this morning 10min! I changed her bottles again, I finally dicovered what she likes...avent bottles with pur teats! the change has been amazing just in the last day! She still will put up a bit of a fight after the first burp but usually within 5min is drinking again (she just needs a little convincing)
So I am off today to buy some more bottkes (I only have one large one and two small ones so I am washing and sterilising all day it feels)
:fingerscrossed: everyone she keeps this up, cos the last resort is tresillian, and it is bl00dy expen$ive to stay there a couple of days.
Hope all are well, will post more when I have time.......you know how it is:rolleyes:
I am back, lost the internet for a week...spent last night :barf:N the runs food poisoning will catch up with everyone soon.
YAY KAILAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is great!!!
Cooper now weighs 6.45kg! I guess that is what happens when you only poos twice in a week lol. I can't believe it is normal for a lil baby to go up to 10 days with out pooing!!! Dont know if it is the same for formula babies, but omg!!!!
I think i would give just about anything for a bbq meatlovers pizza (i know how sad lol) I am so sick of soft foods lol... or even a nice juicy green apple mmmmmm. I am still annoyed at the dentist, the first one i went to was really rough, i think that was why my jaw buggered up, and then went back and the other dentist (same practice) just gave me a filling, but was really gentle and nice. (at the time, he is a mean dentist really tho lol).
Cooper is now really good at rolling onto his back from his belly, it is so cute!! Although he has a cold (again!!) he slept through again, two nights in a row!! Hope it continues!!
As for the needles, coop had his a few weeks ago and still has little lumps there!! poor little guy! but my dr told me they can last up to the next lot

Ahh, twice a week. That would be nice. Sarah's twice a day. Unfortunately that's normal for bf babes too, go figure
Hi all, we are both travelling really well, Lily is around the 6.2kg mark (13p 3oz i think). Sleeps through from about 8pm till around 6am (sometimes longer :D ) We have a really good routine that suits me to a tea....I like to think that I played a part in it but it was all up to bubs...lol
Sorry to hear about the :barf: Nat and Kris that great news about kailah....YAY
Well we are back to sh!t again!
She has been put on lactose free formula to see how she goes with that as she has been refusing to feed at all, will only take 50ml at the most then kick and scream.
MAN! I can't cop a break can I ?!?!?!?!!!!!
I just want someone to tell me ONE thing and for it to WORK!
I have been crying my eyes out since 7 this morning and I look like I'm on drugs! My eyes are blood shot and hanging out of my head! I look like a real DERRO!
I just can't tkae much more of this! I am so stressed my hair is falling out! When I wash or brush it, it comes out in handfuls! So I just wash it and tie it up. I hrdly brush it anymore, cos I think I will have nothing left in another month at this rate!
Gotta go, Kailah's screaming yet again!:gloomy: :( :crying: :banghead:
Kris, LOL I don't know where it goes! He really isn't a fat bubba. He's got chunker legs but his arms are pretty slim and he hasn't got a big belly or butt. But you pick him up and he feels really heavy.
Sally, Flo, I know I'm lucky that I didn't retain any fluid and I lost the 12 kilo I put on very quickly. I'm less than my pre-baby weight now. I really think he drained it off me. Please don't get discouraged if you're not pre-baby weight yet. Don't diet, just eat healthy and keep up the water. I've always found that drinking lots of water helped regulate my weight easily. It's so good to hear you've got a supportive loving DH though :)
Hi Wendy, welcome to the group. Sarah is beautiful. And she took her needles a lot better than Matthias did. He kicked and howled and wimpered for a good hour afterward. He wasn't impressed with the DR or myself. He got a temperature but it was gone after about a day. I only had to give him two doses of panadol.
Trix, Indiana is adorable in your avatar. It looks like she's waving and saying, "Hey there, how cute am I?" hehe.
Shannon, Matthias finally slept more than five hours! He went from 7 till 2 on Sunday and from 10 till 5. Yesterday was a nightmare because we had to go out. DH had jazz band practice and he just wouldn't settle in a foreign bed. Really funny considering he can sleep at work and on lumpy Daddy. I'm still really tender around the scar too but I refused to let it scare me off sex anymore. Even though every time we try I seem to get an infection... I swear every thing is screwed up down there. I felt so bad for DH. I try not to show that I'm uncomfortable and sore, he's been patient enough. I just wish I'd had a trouble free birth, it wouldn't make me so scared to have another baby. I can't see myself coping. I was going to suggest feeding Laura in a different position, but you tried it. I'm really glad it worked. They say that a different position helps drain different ducts better. I feed nursing across during the day, and for his night feeds lying down. It might be messy but have you tried feeding her from a cup? And getting DH instead of you to give the bottle. I've only tried Matthias three times on a bottle, and it always worked better if he was with someone else. He got frustrated because he could smell me but the milk tasted different and it was plastic thing in his mouth instead of warm soft skin.
And Kris, I'm sorry things aren't going well again. I hope you get a break through again and it's a permanant blessing. Is there anyone else who can help you with feeding? I know Matthias will fuss and not latch properly if I'm stressed, I always have to be relaxed. I really hope you catch a break.
Ick Nat, I hope you feel better soon.
Wow Nizzma. I'm lucky if Matthias only does one poo a day. Most of the time he does two or three and they're always disasters. If I don't change him quick, he squishes it up his back and it leaks out the sides. Ahhh. I always have to pack two full outfits just in case. Had to use one today. DH laughes and says his son loves blowing a whole in his nappy. Not only is he a seriously windy/gasie boy but he has sludge poos. I used to make my grandmother fruit mousses because she didn't have any teeth. I pureed peaches, pinapple, apple and nectarens together. Also warm Samolena with raspberry puree is yum or condensed milk polenta. If you want a runny consistency you just add more liquid, less liquid if you want it thick or set.
I am back still feeling a bit rough around the edges breastfeeding and extreme :barf: do not work well together. I lost 2 kilos in 24 hours
Sounds like everyone is happy apart from Kris my god when will it end for you, why is it taking so long for answers?
Eliza is 5.3 kilos well that was last week probably more now and shes only 7 weeks lol
She's still sleeping very well, and slept most of the day yesterday as did I!
We got our new car and she hates the car seat cries a lot when in it very distracting for me when I went on a practise drive, shes not to bad if shes fed, clean and tired then she grunbles then drifts off but still, I hope she gets use to it soon!!
the car is an auto which I have never driven and my first trip out, went to change gears, well my left foot slams down on the brakes:o emergency stop lol, luckily no one was behind us otherwise they would of rear ended us! have to make a mental note to keep left foot on the floor!
I have my mums group today I really enjoy it, but I am just to weak o walk there and chat for an hour or so :(
so will be hanging around here most likely!
ohh I had my debriefing all is well, my uterus wasn't torn as badly as first thought, the head of obs was there he explained everything very well told me my recovery wa pretty dam good considering my horrific experience his words not mine, must of been bad for the DR. to say that..also told me we can try for a baby any time from here onwards and we talked about VBACS he's all into that and explained so is the hospital said my chances of a normal birth next time are very high, also said try to have a smaller baby next time considering my tiny frame....hmm how does one control the babies weight lol so that was very reassuring and good to hear!
x
I really hope you're feeling better Nat. And keep those fluids up. You can dehydrate so quickly breastfeeding and it would have been even worse for you sick. :hugs:
And it's so encouraging to hear that you can tried for VBAC next time. Wow you're brave already considering another go. I'm not ready yet. Just the thought of going through the recovery again mades me shudder.
How they monitor size is through ultrasound. They'll watch you closely and you'll probably get more scans toward the end and they'll probably induce you before your due date. My two of my friends had to have that done because one went early (a week) but still had a 9 pound and the baby was fully engaged but couldn't come out - got stuck. The other hemorragged badly after birthing a 10 pound boy. They're inducing her early for this little one. She's having girl.
Nat - that sounds great about a VBAC. As you are all aware I had 2 disastrous labours/ birth and when I fell preggers with no 3 i really focused so much positive energy on birthing naturally (although I got sooo many neagative comments on wanting to trial a VBAC), but I just shut it all out , I did yoga and read a heap of positive VBAC stories and just listened to my body and not all the negative people out there. And look - i had the most positive, empowering birth experience and have walked away 110% happy with everything that happened so just remember that if it feels right for you then it is right!!!! (does this mean we will have another preggie in the march mamas???)
Hope you feel better
another preggie who else is preggers already???
Hi Everyone,
Well little Miss Poppy is teething!!!!! You can see it as clear as day a little tooth starting to make it's way up and she is drulling like a leaky tap!!
Nat- I am so glad your uterus is OK I really hope we both can have a VBAC for the next. I can't believe Eliza is 5.3kg WOW Poppy is only 4.9 and she is on formula :)
Kris- firstly :hugs: I can't imagine what your going through. Have you tried feeding her with a cup?? I know that sounds weird but some babies prefer drinking instead of sucking. I am sure it will get better as time goes on :fingerscrossed: in the meantime stay strong!
I am so excited my Mum gets married next weekend and I have just bought Poppy her first little dress - it is so cute I will post some pics when we get back.
Amy
So much to catch up on, I must get here more.
Welcome Wendy - love your website.
Nat, hope you are feeling better today, wish I could lose 2kg in a day, but I don't want to be sick to do it. Got my jeans done up finally, but they are a stretchy pair, now I have this ugly "muffin top" LOL so glad it's winter and I can wear a jacket :). Are you TTC yet? That's SO exciting. I always said never again, but now I think it would be nice for Christian to have a brother. CAN'T BELIEVE I JUST SAID THAT!!!!! But we are certainly not cramming any more kids into this tiny unit we live in. Need more cash, bigger house and bigger car first, so that means I am stopping at 3 LOL.
Kris I was so happy for you, and then sad again reading your couple of posts. Have you tried a different doctor? Thinking of you :hugs: to Kailah and Em too.
Carla will be having her needles tomorrow, and getting weighed again on Monday, she's getting pretty chubs now, I love squeezing her. She has been loving the dummy for the last few nights, it's much better than falling asleep sucking on boob, then throwing up in my bed as she gets too full. Now my boobs are like rocks every morning and I have to express for comfort. But I can cope with that if she sleeps through.
Ciao ladies.
Kris- i wish i had some advice for you! :hugs: to you and Kailah and Emily and DH, it must be rough for all of you.
Nat - hope you are feeling better!!
CnC- be brave tomorrow!! And remember, they are a lot better then bubs getting really sick. And dont forget the panadol!!
And did i read correctly? Is someone already preg???? I would love to have another one now lol, so there isnt much age gap, and Coop just loves watching other kids lol. But i think i would prefer to have a partner next time round lol, it aint easy not getting a break lol, need someone to share the cuddles with lol.
As for the pooing - it may only happen occasionally, but whoa!!!!!! think of how many feeds a baby has in a week, and then pack that in to two poos lol. It aint pretty lol. But he did do two poos in ONE day a few days ago, and they were still as dramatic as they are a few days apart lol.
The boy calls!! Catch up soon
Have I missed something here? Who is Pregnant??
I don't think any1 is pg, think it was just a coupke of us saying we would like to TTC soon....NOT me!!!! I've finished! (well 99.9% sure thats it for me!)
DH wants 6!!!!!! NO Way!
I dunno, maybe a few more yrs down the track
i will change my mind, but I doubt it.
Ahh yeah my DH wants 4 but I am quite happy with 1 at the moment - maybe in another 12 months I will start to think about it again. I am just enjoying having my body back to normal and enjoying Poppy.
Kris- has Kailah had another feed yet?? how did it go??
Amy xxx
She had the whole bottle just a while ago, 170ml.
She drank for 5 min then had a fight and a rest for 10 then drank for another 20min! I was happy with that!
She seems a little happier but I don;t know how long it's going to last.
I just can't believe it! I just can't help but feel cheated, I think it's not fair...I've had my poor fedder, I don;t want another one! I know it sounds bad but just how I feel sometimes.
I just want something 'normal' to go right for once in my life!
I know I sound like a big sook but I really feel like I've had my share of heartache and things going wrong!
Can't it be someone else's turn?!?!?!
I just feel like screaming or crying ATM.....:crying: :banghead: :crying: :banghead:
She has only put on 80g this week, but at least she has not lost any.
Have to get her weighed again in a week.
I just feel like somehow this is all my fault! Don't know how but just feels that way!
First breast feeding failed and ow it feels like bottle feeding is failing! Man!
----insert ALOT foul laguage here------
---and here---- ------and here!!!!--------
MAN! I just want something to go right! Keep you fingers crossed for us that this formula works and she keeps up the good drinking.
Ok now to reply to others.....
Nat gald to hear eveything went well at your briefing, glad to hear you can TTC soon! How exciting! But I have heard that it is sometimes hard to fall whilst BF.
But I wish you luck and pleaslet us know when you st se can keep track of you and your uterus...lol.
Kimmy just read that stats on Mattias, he doesn't sound that big does he?
Kailah got weighed today and is 5.7kg and 60.5 cm long HC 40cm.
Hope everyone else is good.
Bye for now
Oh, like my new avatar? It was taken just before I posted.
Oh Kris - Don't be down on yourself it's not your fault at all. From that little photo on your aviator I'd say Kailah is not only beautiful but very happy and lucky to have a wonderful strong caring person like you! She will get the hang of it.
I have a poem that I think you will like - I will send it to you in PM.
Amy
(does this mean we will have another preggie in the march mamas???)
I started the rumour!!!!! No one else is preggers (not that i know) but i just wrote another preggie cos it felt like yesterday we all were...I would love to have another one but 4 sounds ssooooooooooo scary.....lol
(does this mean we will have another preggie in the march mamas???)
I started the rumour!!!!! No one else is preggers (not that i know) but i just wrote another preggie cos it felt like yesterday we all were...I would love to have another one but 4 sounds ssooooooooooo scary.....lol
 Yes it does!
I think 3 sounds scary enough Jamie!!!
We are the same age and I can't fatham being a mum of 3! You are super!
aawwww, thanx kris. But i have had it easy compared to you!!!! and amy is right - kailah looks sooo happy in that photo so hopefully you will have normality soon:hugs:
Thanks Jamie.
She is pretty happy most of the time, just when it comes to feed time it is awful!
I think she is associating feed time with pain (r something not nice) so evertime it's feed time she cries and fusses etc.
Hopefully we will get through this.
The clinic nurse has passed my details onto some mental health mob, she thinks I'm getting depressed, I said to her, well wouldn't you if your baby refused to drink?
So now that has made me feel great...NOT
Foxymoron

Gosh there's so many new posts! I haven't had time to scratch myself lately, and I'm feeling isolated and grumpy! I love my DH and my kids, but they've been my only company for sooo long! What I need is more hours in the day, so I can attend mothers groups, get my housework done, spend time with my kids and do some things for myself! I'm regretting taking on even two subjects this semester... I'm enjoying mummy mush brain too much, reading junk mags, planning kids parties, being a couch potatoe...
Kris-:hugs: I do so hope things get better for you.
Amy G- Wow teeth already! Thank goodness the bottom ones come through first and don't hurt when your feeding!
Nat- sorry to hear you were icky, you poor thing!
Sally- I'm sporting a post baby muffin top too.... does that make us yummy mummies?  Damn those school/kinder choccy drives!
I was just thinking how cool it would be to have a Chrissy card swap, and a 1st birthday card list for us all. If anyone is interested let me know and I'll set up an address list (via our yahoo group)... I know it's early to be talking xmas cards and birthdays, but time flies!
Thomas is due for his 8 week needles- he'll be 12 weeks this Friday... every time I think I'll book him in he gets a cold! arrrrrgh... I'm beginning to think there won't be a 'good' time to do it so I might just get him done on Friday when all the other kids are out.
Toodles till next time
OK just to clarify we're not TTC until later this year, unless something happens before then, the midwifes do seem to think I could be ovulating but no sign of AF this is common apparently in mums who Exclusively BF but have babies who sleep through the night...like Eliza lol so hmm who knows..but I hope it happens later in the year, I am feeling so skinny right now I want to enjoy it before being a heifer again lol
Well I managed one bowl of rice with chicken stock as suggested by a fellow bubhubber, was great 2nd bowl not so great lol now having a coke which I never usually drink but it's helping!
Have my interview for my Aussie citizenship tomorrow got shocking passport pictures  also got Eliza's picture done for her UK passport..pretty pointless if you ask me as babies change every week lol
Kris I hope you're not depressed, but would find it amazing if you are not with everything going on for you:hugs:
Keara I love your idea always fun to get snail mail :D
Well the mental health mob phoned me this afternoon and want me to go in on friday for a chat. They wanted me to go in tomorrow but that is my first day in 2 weeks without Emily so I want a break! I am meeting a friend for coffee, haven't had a catch up with her in months! So I REALLY need that. So they booked me in for friday 11 am. I feel like an idiot! The lady on the phone wanted me to go ASAP but I feel I have better things to do than sit there and have someone tell me to try and relax and breathe and not let things get on top of me and:ecomcity: .
Yeah, yeah, yeah, i know all that but it is easier said than done!
I do think that there is a bit of depression kreeping back but I do feel it is because of all the cr@p that has been happening.
On a better note, Kailah has been drinking well today and has had 610ml so far and still has one more bottle to go:yelclap: !!!
I don't know if it is the new formula or just her settling down...
I have also been trying to be really relaxed and calm before and during her feeds so my stress doesn't pass to her and I think it has helped a bit.
I talk really soft to Emily while feeding her, even if she is getting into mischief....like today she pulled down a whole basket of folded washing and dragged it through the house and pulled out all the tupperware from the cupboard (my fault for leaving the cupboard unlocked).
But it was ok....I tried hard not to get angry or upset, it just made for more work tonight....ah well...school tomorrow:smiliedance: !!!!
LOL Keara - yummy mummies indeed. You must be busy, I thought i was, and you have one more than me plus studying, so I know it must get crazy at times. Perhaps we can catch up again in the school hols? PM me if you like. I love the card swap idea too.
Kris, if anyone has a right to be depressed it's you. You really have been through a lot, it just has to get better. Good luck for Friday, hope you get to talk to someone who relates well to you. Plenty of ups and downs and just the stress of daily life can play havoc with the mind. Just keep telling yourself you are doing the best job you can do. Kailah looks so beautiful and happy anyway, so you must be doing something right.
My DS is going thru the terrible twos ATM, and just won't listen to anything I say. It's so tiring trying to get him to do something, and I find myself resorting to bribery most of the time. Wish I had my sweet little boy back, he's asserting himself to the extreme (just to put it nicely!)
Nat, good to hear you are back on track. It's nice to get your appetite again after being sick. Try some lemon juice and sugar in hot water, it usually helps to settle my stomach if I need it.
Nite all.
Kris enjoy your day out you REALLY, REALLY need and deserve it!
Well done Kaliah!!:smiliedance::yelclap:
Sally You poor thing with DS!!
Kris, I wouldn't take it as a bad thing. She just wants to make sure you have access to support. Was it your hubby that wasn't helping in the beginning? I swear if my hubby was saying he wanted 6 kids and then not lifting a finger, I'd tell him to show me if he could handle what we've got on his own first! Leave him flying solo for a week and he'd change his tune. And you're not a sook. If I was going though what you are, I'd be exactly the same. :hugs: I hope this new settled, feeding well Kailah, keeps up for you. She looks adorable in her photo. Hard to imagine that she gives you so much grief at feed time. I posted a picture of Matthias at Yahoo. I have a cute one I took Tuesday of him grinning but I haven't loaded it to PC yet.
Wow Flo, way to start a wildfire. :) I nearly fell out of my chair when I read that we had a pregnant mumma already! I'd be so lost if I fell pregnant now. Coping with Matthias and work is enough for me. I spoke too soon about those blissful nights. He was three hours between feeds last night. I look like I haven't slept in a week this morning. And to top it off, he just bombed through his clothes. Spares on again today. :p
Nat, that's so cute that Eliza's already getting her passport. I think infant ones only last 6 months? Or is it less. My mum got us ones when we were babies, because she was always going home and taking us with her. When her parents were still around she went twice a year for 5-6 weeks.
lol Keara and CnC - i put some jeans on the other day and thought "wow, they fit" then i looked in the mirror and nearly cried - Massive muffin top (I think i stole all the muffins from muiffin break)
Lily is such bliss ATM - she has found her tongue a few weeks ago and all she does is poke it out all day!!! sooooo cute. I am really enjoying all the aspects of parenting (until DS is a brat...lol) Must be boys CnC!!!!
Kris - I had a period of about 3 weeks where all i did was cry, feel lonely and horrible bout myself and thought I had PND...and I have had smooth sailing compared to you so I know its hard but try not to let it all build up!!! Good luck on friday and it is probably good to speak to a 3rd party as they will be objective about the whole situation....:hugs:
Muffin top lol I lurve that kath N kim thingo!
Well after saying we were not going to TTC until later this year we have decided to just go with the flow...or lack of it LOL seeing as how I am breastfeeding, but she is sleeping through the night the midwife has told us we have a 60% chance of falling pregnant..so we'll see how we go I am excited, but like I said only yesterday I am enjoying being myself again physically lol but we'll see DP has dragged out a pregnancy test lol and said don't use it yet  I said I don't want to know until I am about 30 weeks lol
Well I have to get a form signed by a friend forgot to do it and need it for my citizenship interview this afternoon oops so organised lol
xx
het nat, just out of curiosity, did they say it was ok to fall pregnant now???? i am not being a sticky nose but i was told that after a c sec u should wait 12 mths and my friend was told 9 mths and another friend was told 3 mths....it just goes to show how hard it is to know what the right answer is!!!! well good luck and i cannot wait to hear how it will go....u making me clucky:eek:
Yay!! If you fall preg this month you will be a march mummy for next year too!!! :smiliedance: I didnt really experience the ttc thing, doing all the research of what to do not to do, it is so interesting!! A friend of mine and his wife have just started, i have got soooo much stuff for them! Like all the stuff they give you in the bounty bag after you have had bub so you missout on it all lol.
Yay Kailah!! :smiliedance:
I went to the Bundy show today! OMG it was huge!!!!!!! I couldnt believe all the rides they had - like really BIG rides!! The only show i have ever been to consisted of a jumping castle, dodgem cars and a tiny little show bag stand, so this was massive!! They had like three different dodgem cars and a miny roller coaster thing and every thing else you can think of lol!! I felt like such a small town girl lol, i don't think i would be able to handle the ekka lol, total overload!!! Cooper loved all the bright stuff and all the kids. I wanted to take him into the animal nursery, but the line was waaayyyy to long, so am going to have to take him out to a friends farm so he can meet the animals lol. But yeah, i was really impressed with it all lol.
But anyways, i am off to get some stuffdone while the dude is sleeping!!!!
Have fun everyone!!
Flo the head of obs gave us the go ahead last week at my debriefing we talked about when etc.I also heard 6mth-12mths but he was saying yes many dr's say that but things have moved on and it's ok from about 8-12 weeks to start again. I was like will my uterus explode lol he said no not until I am in labour..he was joking but said any woman who has had a caesar has a 1/300 chance of her previous scar opening during a VBAC and if they though that would happen they would have me in for another c/section.
Well I haven't TTC either, Eliza was a surprise I am not tracking it or anything bit hard when you have no AF lol
Hello,
Hope everyone is doin well. It's raining here in Canberra so I decided to stay indoors today and stay in my PJ's ( lovin it ).
Flo- I had a c sec and my Doc said he would prefer me to wait 12 months until I think about TTC again. Said that that's how long it takes for the internal parts to heal and strengthen.
Not sure if it's my Doc being over precautious ( he was with my whole pregnancy ) but I guess he knows what he is talking about.
Poppy is going great she has 2 naps during the day, one in the morning then one in the afternoon and is awake and happy for most of the time she is up. Poppy now sleeps from 10pm til 6am YAY :smiliedance: I feel so energised from being able to sleep again. She is now drinking 180mls every 4 hours during the day and her bad wind and constipation have setteled down heaps:thumbsup: !!!
Poppy is starting to get to big for her bassinette! When did or will you put your bubs in the cot??
Amyxxxx
I put Coop in the cot the night he came home! and he is fine. I have heard they take a bit of getting used to the cot after being in a basinet, but different bed, so it makes sense to me lol. I also have him in my room, but didnt when he was little, only happened about a month ago. what am i talking about, he is still little! When he was first born he was all on his lonesome :crying: But he is doing heaps better now lol, and so am i!
Nat and Flo, for Matthias I was charting so next time around I want to just wing it. I'd be extra special because neither of use would be feeling any pressure. To DH scheduled action was a big mood killer. Talk about performance anxiety, one day when conception is almost guaranteed.
Eliza in a cot yeah right lol shes still in our bed..I am sure her cradle will get some night use eventually I hope!!! She naps in it during the day and early evening that's about it!
We went shopping last night  more clothes for Princess Eliza I dunno, and a griddle for mummy and some cosmetics, and a saucepan for DP lol he said to me on the way home.."hmm I think I am nesting, for the next one" lol
I have been on a major cleaning spree the last two days nothing unsual for me but really have the urge to tidy up throw things away, we looking to move to a bigger unit as we are in a 1br at the moment so obvisouly we have to move as Eliza will need her own room + room for us all to breath rather tight in a 1br!
Today Eliza watched that show on Channel 7 Bambaloo wow she loved it took some pictures put them on her website if you're interested!
We might be going down the coast this weekend we are both wondering how she will go in the car as she is still un-impressed with the car seat!
Amy Poppy sounds like she's a very good baby :D
Hi Amy. :) Matthias never had a bassinette. He was in the cot from birth. He did look small in it when we first brought him home (didn't stay that way for long  )
They just recommend that you put their feet at the bottom of the cot and swaddle them and they're fine.
Thankfully he sleeps in his cot without a fuss. There are some nights where we co-sleep early in the morning, I'm just too zonked to get up and put him back in his cot. I should really say that he and daddy sleep. I'm too conscious of him to get restful sleep. DH is a deep sleeper and I'm worried he could roll on him. I put him up near are heads but his legs and arms are still vulnerable. :p Especially considering he loves to sleep practically spread eagle. They get to a certain point that no matter how well you wrap them, they still get free.
Carla had her needles yesterday and she was so brave, I was really proud of her. Of course she cried, but lots of other babies were HOWLING. Gave her some boobie in the 15 minutes you have to wait there, and now she's absolutely fine  I realised I only had children's panadol, not baby's when I got home - DOH - but she doesn't seem to need it.
Amy, Carla is 9 weeks now and starting to pull the bassinette 'curtain' down when she's in there, so it will be into the cot with her very soon. DS is still supposed to sleep in the cot, but if I am honest he hasn't slept in there for months - usually he's with us.
Kids want the computer now to play their "jump start" so I'm off to cook dinner in peace.
Have a good weekend.
The thing is Poppy moves around so much, she won't be wrapped - hated it from day one. So I might put the cot in our room first and see how she goes :fingerscrossed:
I am thinking abot buying a bumbo baby seat for Poppy. I know she isn't quite 3 months yet ( god only another 3 weeks - gee wiz time flys ) but she has a very strong head and can basically sit up straight!! Do any of you have one of these or know if they are any good. I have provided a link to have a peek.
http://www.justforbubs.com.au/bumbo-baby-seat.php
Amyxx
On the whole cot thingo, they say to place the baby at the bottom so they don't wiggle under the covers correct?...............Eliza wiggles up lol so by the time she wakes up her head is close to the top and shes woken up as shes pushed the covers off:rolleyes:
OK as you know I was pretty sick last week, Eliza's poo has been a little ewww with some mucus...it's going now, it happened 3 times the 3rd time was hardly any do I need to do anything? She seems happy enough and doesn't have a temperature.
I am not sure but yesterday felt like I had been hit by a truck my boobs are so, so tender started with a blocked milk duct again, now I know it's the pressure unnderneath creating the block, but I can't go without a bra as I leak like crazy yesterday I had to just take it off and sit with towels bit worried it was mastitis but today feel heaps better, going to buy a cabbage :D
Eliza hates her carseat so much she just screams and screams you can't console her, unless you lift her out. Anyone else have this problem? Shes only just started to travel in the car.
hope everyone is well :)
Nat - Are you emptying your boobs when you feed???? To help relieve some of the pressure until next feed maybe express after you feed Eliza that way you can completely empty your boobs - trust me that feels wonderful. I know I don't breast feed now but when I did I had too much milk at the start and boy my boobs felt like they were going to explode. Don't put cold towels over it or very hot. Cold towels can stop the production of milk and hot towels stimulate so you will fill up even more.
If you are worried about mastitis just go down to your midwife or clinic.
Poppy slept from 10pm - 7am last night :smiliedance: and didn't need a bottle to go to bed
I also bought her the Bu,bo chair and she loves it!!!! I took some pics of her and put it on her website if anyone wants to have a look it's in her photo gallery
