unhelpful chemist! can anyone help?

I am going to try a chemists somewhere further away, but I went to the local chemists to get a canestan thrush pesary, and the chemist told me she wouldnt sell it to me because I was pregnant! I used a thrush pesary during my 1st pregnancy and it worked a treat, so what has changed since then?

Does anyone know? I hate using the creams alone, it works for about 2 weeks and then I'm back to square 1, and I hate the idea of going to the dr for a prescription as I know what is wrong with me and see it therefore as a waste of time and money, dragging my bored kids all the way there for a prescription (gp doesnt bulk bill). Does anyone know a pesary brand I can ask for that might have been prescribed to them, so is therefore safe? I dont want to faff about with yoghurt/diet etc, I just want to get rid of this, as I know from my past experience, how easy it is to get rid of with these pesarys.....

Hey Becca, ive seen to t.v the ad for Diaphylm i think is called, it says one tablet and thats it! The whole treatment is just the one tablet! ask your chemist about it, its pregancy wonderful for thursh:o . All the best.

I don't know what teh go is with thrush treatments and pregnancy, but if it is fine and it sounds like it is given the posts here - tell the chemist it's for your sister or something!!

Its called Difflucan One and you can't take the tablet while pregnant and/or breastfeeding...

got some monistat 1, the girl in this new chemist just sold it to me without comment, so was v.happy :)

I remember how in my 1st preg I'd been so very nervous to see the dr about it, and suffered for quite a few months because I was embarassed about it, and then felt so silly that i'd put myself thru it all after being prescribed the pesary and it cleared up in days, and didnt return............until now ;)
