... little does Jedd know that Daddy isn't coming home tonight again :( He's sitting at the door, watching the world go by. It's become quite a habit at this time of day as he waits for Daddy to come home and sweep him off his feet with raspberries and kissies :bee:

*sigh* Poor fella :baby:

My girls are both sitting at the front door now, waiting for their daddy who is away too.
DD1 is informing DD2 that she will be getting the first cuddle.
I keep trying to explain that he is not coming home, DD1 who does understand, does not believe me.

Oh, it breaks your heart doesn't it :(

Andrew is upset enough when DH isn't home before bedtime, but he is about to start working interstate for 5 days at a time each fortnight...its going to be a big adjustment for the little dude.

But on the upside...isn't it so fantastic that they love their daddies so much :)

Poor little guy. Sounds like he has a great little relationship developing with his dad, which is so important.

My DH isn't working away but sometimes he has to go to Melbourne or sydney for a couple of days.

During this days, my younger one also waits on the door.

The other days, he just rans straight to the Garage when he hears the door open and says, Daddy, Daddy and when the connection door opens and he comes in, he rans straight to him. :bee:

My 3 1/2 yo has "lost" that a bit. he's still happy when he's Dad is coming home but he won't go straight to him or gives him cuddles.

Sad to see.. :(

My hubby works away too. My 2yr old now cries out "daddy's plane!" everytime a plane flies overhead, as she knows thats where daddy usually is - poor chook!

Isn't it amazing how even young kiddies are so attached to their dad's? My nearly 6month old just has such a look of rapture whenever we pick up hubby from the airport - it's like all his Christmases have come at once lol!

My DH will be home in 2 and a half weeks, so we are all excited. My children absolutely adore their dad and when he walks through the front door, they both rush to him. My DD1 knows that daddy is on his boat and my DD2 is just like outta sight, outta mind. They both accept that he isn't here, but as soon as he gets home, I am yesterday's news. LOL. I don't mind. I love seeing my girls with their father:bee:.

My DP use to work away a lot.. he would just come home and say he has to fly to Perth or Cairns.. it would break my heart when I had to drop him at the airport.. the kids would be crying driving in to the airport..and practically jumping out of the car screaming 'daddy' when we would go get him. I ended up asking the FIL to take him and pick him up!

Thankfully he is in between jobs atm, but with his new job he will be working on the mines, and could possibly have to travel again :(
