My DS was only in his incubator for 8 days but i remember him going into an open crib and clothes so clearly, like it was yesterday ....

take it from me, before you know it Emerald will be 2 and running around non-stop like my DS :smiliedance:

I remember when my DD went into on open crib, it was the best day. My mum and I went up to the hospital to see her and we didn't recognise her as they had put her in an open crib overnight and she was dressed in the tiniest clothes with a little beanie on. From there they just grow and get stronger and stronger.

i have a friend who had premmie twins born on the 30.1.06
only one survived. it is so wonderful to recieve updates on Caedyn, hes just hit the 2 kg mark too!

She had her first bath today, didnt like it too much. And I fed her with a bottle for the first time, she spewed on me. lol. She needs a blood transfusion and shes breathing too fast because her lungs have been damaged from the ventilator they put her on when she was born. Shes a bit sick at the moment. I am too, I hurt my back on saturday and the pain is getting worse :( Im going to the doc tomorrow.

Emerald weighs 5 lb 10 oz today and she drank a whole bottle at 2pm. She usually only drinks half of her bottle. She will be home by her due date, they say, which was the 28th of April. YAY!

She is a medium sized baby compared to them all. There are some who were born full term but have lung problems and such.

I am very excited. Today was her due date so she is officially full term! yay! If she is still in hospital when she is 100 days old that give her presents and a cake (tuesaday) But I hope she is home by then.

Thats geat news, there's nothing like that feeling you get on thier first night home knowing it's just the three of you, no nurses or monitor noises, feeding by yourselves and it's just so special!!!! Enjoy and good luck with everything!!
