You're a genious!

I read in a thread a week or so this suggestion but can't remember where I saw it. I just wanted to say it's one of the most fantastic settling methods I've used (and I think I've used them all now).

DS is massive and can often be a struggle for him to get to sleep. It's not much fun standing up trying to rock a near 13kg baby to sleep so the fit ball is a god-send.

*mwah* :D

I know someone that had a sleep consultant come over to her house that thinks they are a brilliant idea. Glad it works for you!

My DS (rather than my DD) always needed rocking to sleep.

I used my swiss ball many times to help me keep awake while doing it as well as helping me to hold him as he got into awkward postures.

New suggestions can always be taken on board and sometimes can be a good alternative.

Good luck!!!

How exactly does it work? Like, do you just sit on the fit ball and rock to sleep? Iam at my wits end and ready to try just about anything.

I lay him across my legs with my arms semi around him and just bounce gently up and down. It helps if he's wrapped too.

do whatever your baby wants .. sometimes I put DS in a sling and bounce on the ball .. sometimes I hold him horizontally (as I would to feed him) and bounce .. sometimes I put the ball behind me (between me and the couch) and sit on the floor and just bounce my back on the ball ..

I found that sitting on the ball sometimes .. my back would get sore ... so the time on the floor worked too ..

I cant believe that more mums dont use one .. I've used it with BOTH my windy boys - its fantastic for bouncing the wind around ..

You can also place bub on their tummy over the ball and rock the ball with them on. (Fully supporting them at the same time of course)

I used many methods with both my bubbas and also used the balls in therapy for kids (and some bubbies) I've seen for work.

We did this heaps for Boof cause of his wind & also because he hated tummy time & this was the only way he would do it !

Not only that - but they are also really comfy to sit on when you're really preg as you can sit with your knees really wide (very lady-like) and lean forward onto a stool or something in front of you. :D I love them!

Yes the old Devil Ball ha,ha.

I used this to get my DS to sleep until he was about 19 months old...I was only a month off having DD mind you. It helped keep my back strong during my pregnancy that's for sure.

It is a Godsend for some bubbies, and Toddlers who have trouble too of course.

So glad you have found something that helps so much. Good for your fitness too :)

Can't remember where it was I heard to use the ball from over 2 years ago, but it even helped to get DS to drink his bottle when he was upset and wouldn't drink (due to teething or sore tummy etc) just a gentle swaying bounce as he drank.

Funny thing my DD hates the ball with a passion, doesn't like being rocked or bounced AT ALL. Didn't think I would miss it, but I do LOL.
