My DD has never been the greatest to feed but recently she has been refusing her bottle. She will drink about 100mls and then it is a power struggle to get her to have any more. She has three meals a day and three bottles (formula). Some days we can barely squeeze 300 mls into her. We have spoken to health nurses but they don't seem to take us very seriously because she is still gaining weight, but i am concerned that she isn't get enough vitamins and minerals that she needs from the milk. Please help, feeling confusing and frustrated !!!!! :(

Thanks for your reply, DD has 3 meals. She has cereal after her first bottle in the morning, fruit after her lunch bottle then veges in the afternoon and then a bottle before bed. What did you give your bub when you stopped the milk? Did you up the amount of soilds during the day? xx

How long has she been doing this for?
Do you think she could be teething? My DS always goes off his bottles for a few days while teething (gums hurt). Try putting bonjela on her gums, waiting 5 or 10 mins then giving her a bottle and see what happens.

yes mt 1st thought was teething too. Sometimes it aggravates there gums to feed, have you tried putting it in a sippy cup or a cup with a straw? i think tommee tippee makes one.

I wouldn't stress to much. She will feed if she is hungry, she won't starve :D

And because she is having solids she will be getting some vitamins from that. Also vegies contain water too.

What about water? Will she drink water?

My dd does this and has been doing it for awhile and nothing could make her drink more.

Instead I just started offering her water in a sippy cup after each solid meal so at least she is still getting more fluids. If she is happy healthy and gaining weight i wouldnt worry too much about it.

yep those straw cups were a godsend for me:yes: dd wouldnt drink from anything else but she can hold onto this one herself and happily drinks nearly a whole cup of water lol.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Well another bad day today, actually the worst on record. She has only had 200 mls!!!! We tried the teething gel and tried in a different cup. Nothing seems to work. I am starting to think that she just doesn't like the taste. I think she is trying to wean herself off milk. As soon as she see's it coming she starts getting worked up, and then when she is in the feeding position and we have tried heaps, she just gets herself into a tizz. I am so confused, i just wish she could tell us what she wants  xx
