hey!

I started getting BAD braxton hicks this time at 15 weeks!!!!! I can get them up to every 3 minutes some times and they are quite painful and can go on for a couple of hours. I'm told its uncommon to get them as early as I did but being my third pregnancy its not unheard of.

For more comparison though, with my second pregnancy I started getting them around 24 weeks - bad ones that is.. had just little not painful ones before then for a while.

I don't think its anything to worry about but doesn't hurt to ask at your next ante-natal!

Certainly not enjoyable but not much we can do about it! Mine did subside for a few weeks and now I only get around 10 painful ones per day which is nice, unless I exert myself and then I get plenty more to let me know to quit doing so much!

I don't know if I had Braxton Hicks but around that stage I got some really sharp severe pains that would bring me to the floor, it happened a couple of times but that was it! I never got anything really towards the end of the pg though!

I got painful braxton hix contractions at 29 weeks. They were a minute apart and really painful but stopped after an hour or so. other than that i got non painful ones about 3 or 4 times an hour from 20 weeks onwards. ended up being 10 days over but when i got there i was 2 cm dialated good luck.

Jaclyn I was the same in regards to having no BH's with my first born. I never got one BH's contraction so naturally this time around it freaked me out. I started getting niggling pains as such quite early on and thought I was miscarrying but the doc told me that it was completely normal to feel these niggles and BH's in subsequent pregnancies. I find the notion quite bizarre. Seeing as you would sort of expect the pains in the first pregnancy because its the first time your uterus stretches, but no, its the subsequent ones that you feel it with. . Well I meant the majority of subsequent pregnancies anyway.

I never had braxton hicks with my first 2 but had really strong ones from 33 weeks with my last, i kept thinking i was in labour. I honestly believed i would have my son early. WRONG, little bugger still came 10 days late, and i think it was only the shock of seeing my inlaws standing on my driveway (they live in New Zealand) that sent me into labour
