If anyone online has ANY advice, would be much appreciated!!

My 2yo DS has been at daycare the past 2 days.. both days they said he's been fine, happy and playing with other kids.

After I picked him up today he has been great, a little naughty, but he is 2..
He was extremely tired tonight (as he always is on Tuesday nights because he spends his Monday's and Tuesday's at daycare).
So he went to bed fairly early.. he then woke up at around 10ish crying. I thought nothing of it as he has been doing this a fair bit lately (I don't know whether he can sense the new bubs arrival is near?!)
He came out of the room extremely sweaty and red in the face.. thats when I knew something was wrong.. I picked him up and asked if he wanted a drink of water to cool down.. he said yes, so I proceeded to take him to the kitchen and give him some water.
He didnt have very much, then he told me he wanted to go to bed... so I took him back to his bedroom and layed him down and softly rubbed his back until his eyes were nearly closed.
He then started to cry and cough so I sat him up and he vomited everywhere.. I could see everything he'd eaten this afternoon, and alot of mucus. Now he has had abit of a runny nose the past few days aswell.
So I got him up and layed him on his little lounge in front of the tele so I could clean up the vomit and change his sheets.. I raced out when I heard him spluttering again and he was retching and coughing up strings and strings of mucus While he was doing this he was finding it hard to breathe. There was more food in this one aswell.
I gave him a little sip of water (I mean like, TINY) and everytime I do that he seems to bring it straight back up.
He has since vomited again (all up about 5 times), the last time he found it the hardest to breathe and brought up only strings of mucus and two chunks of it. I dont think there is anymore food left in his stomach to bring up!
He's now sleeping on a towel on the loungeroom floor (I want to keep a close eye on him) and he's sounding like he's struggling to breathe normally.. I'm guessing because he's so congested. I'm just worried he is going to de-hydrate or not be able to breathe properly and I'm going to be asleep and not notice! I'm bringing him into bed with me thats forsure, but I'm too scared to go to sleep!
Do you think I should take him to the hospital or will they think I'm being silly?
Anyone else experienced this??
I'm really worried about him :(

DS1 had something like this a few weeks ago it was truly scary !

Have you got Hydrolyte by any chance ? If so get this into him & pretty much keep the water up to him doesnt matter if he keeps bringing it up just keep refilling him.

We were lucky in that a few hours later he seemed to be a lot better so ate some toast & had some more Hydrolyte. He vomitted it all back up a few hours later but he got something iykwim.

If you think he is way to lethargic etc then yes take him to the hospital otherwise if you are able to still keep getting something into him then do so. Doesnt matter what it is just rehydrate him & see how he is by morning & if its still bad enough go to your g.p.

But as i said if you think it isnt right then get him to the hospy as its better to be safe than sorry !

Good luck i really hope it only takes a day or so like it did with Boof !

its not nice when kids pick up tummy bugs and it happens so easily in child care centres but allyo was right in her advice and make sure your don't get it yourself as theres nothing worse than both of you being sick.Hope your little boy gets better quick. Also if he doesn't feel like food or water try a twin pole icey block or one of those gastro drinks frozen.

Hey, thank you for the reply!

No I haven't got any hydrolyte..

He has just woken up again and brought up more mucus. I have given him an apple water ice-block as thats all we have.. and I'm guessing it might be easier on his stomach as he's not swallowing it all at once IYKWIM..?

He is really lethargic.. but it's 1am so I'm guessing he'd be like this even if he wasn't sick! He's not limp or anything (touch wood!) so I might just keep him home til morning.

Thanks again for your advice!
