Hi :)

Well, after weeks of being able to stave it off I had my first vomit today :barf: . Strangely enough I was actually feeling a little better earlier and was planning on going to the shops to do some shopping and medicare stuff. Not anymore!

Anyway I was wondering when you vomit due to morning sickness do you generally just vomit once and are ok for the remainder of the day or can you vomit like a million times in the day?

I really need to do some stuff at the shops but I'm really scared Ill have to vomit in the shopping centre. I had to do that once when I had glandular fever and I don't want to do it again! :D It's kind of embarrassing.

I hate how you kind of forget how bad vomitting feels untill you do it again. Stupid vomitting. :(

Ok, well I :barf: more than once a day that's for sure!! Though somedays I could spew in the morning & just be queasy for the rest of the day. If you go out, just be ready to dash to the loos!! :o I hope it doesn't last too long for you!

Damn it, I figured that would be the case, I was just holding onto a tiny shred of hope. *sigh*

Here I was thinking I might make it through the first trimester without vomiting at all. Poo. Something to look forward to for the next several weeks. :(

I think ill just stay home and hope that it all passes in a few weeks. I really don't want to go out like this, I tend to get anxiety/nausea to do with agoraphobia already and coupled with the morning sickness its all a bit too much I think! :D
The only thing I really need to do is change the name on my medicare card to my married name, but whatever, ill do it when I feel better. Its not like I can't use the thing as it is.

How long does your average morning sickness last? Is it usually just the first trimester for most women?

It really depends each pregnancy is different.
With DD I only :barf: a few times and each time I would feel a lot better but with DS I would :barf: every time I ate or drunk anything:(
Hope you are feeling better soon my MS with DD lasted to 12weeks and with DS to 16weeks

I hate to be a party pooper also but i used to vomit every hour if not more every day of my pregnancy bar a few weeks so i lived in our bathroom pretty much  :(
I ended up carrying around plastic bags to vomit in it was so embarrasing to go out.
Ive had to vomit on trains, buses, on the street even in a shopping centre :crying:
Its really the only thing thats off putting about having another bubba.
I was an extreme case though so try not to stress as i used to look at it as " my baby is getting healthy & strong from me & that it will be over soon enough " cause most women stop ms around the 20wk stage.
Good luck i hope you feel better soon :hugs:

Sorry to bump this but I didn't want to start a new thread. :)

Im just wondering how sick am I 'supposed' to be during the first trimester? I mean, Ive had some pretty blerky days but then i've had days where I can compare how I feel to the first time I had glandular fever and was almost hospitalised.

I've been pretty much bed or couch ridden for the last two weeks, feeling nauseous and just incredibly exhausted, like iron deficiency x100. I have no desire to eat 99% of foods, which sucks cause im sure the fetus kinda needs food ;) I try to eat a little fruit snackpack thingy or real fruit every now and then but apart from fruit and the occasional Up & Go I'm really finding it really difficult to eat.

I tried going shopping yesterday cause I needed some fruit and snacks for me to eat during the day. Bad idea. I ended up sitting on a bench with a fruit juice, waiting for the hubby to finish shopping cause I thought I was going to faint. The rest of the day was spent lying on the couch with a blankie and bucket feeling like utter ****.

I made a doctors appointment for tomorrow just to have a checkup and make sure everything is ok.
Am I supposed to feel this horrible? Seriously, I feel like my immune system is on the losing end of a rather crappy battle. It's very similar to how I felt when I had glandular fever so im not incredibly happy at the moment!

My sister likened a foetus to a parasite, which cracked me up when she said it, but im beginning to think she's right!

Anyway im having an average day today so im actually able to sit at the computer and walk about without feeling weird. I was just hoping for a little reassurrance I think. :fingerscrossed:

Hehehe - poor thing. :hugs: Have you tried (i drink it when i dont feel well and im not even pregnant!!) Bundaberg ginger ale? I truly find it helps - shake the bottle a bit and leave it so its not so fizzy - the sugar should give you a little energy at least! Unless you are really hungry - dont worry to much - if you stay sick doc can recommend something quick smart! Then you can feed yourself - not your cute little 'parasite'!:D

Hehe I can just see the baby getting stuck with the nickname 'parasite' now ;)

Thanks for the tip DjF, ill get the hubby to grab some ginger ale next time he goes shopping.

Do you know if the natural travacalm pills are ok? The info inside the box actually says if you are pregnant to not take more than two, so I assume they are ok, they are just ginger root n stuff... but yeah im always worried about taking tablets.

Your poor hunny! I had morning sickness bad with my first but I realised that it was only when I drank a lot of water/liquid at once on an empty tum. And it usually always happened when it had been several hours since I had eaten. After asking Dr's and friends I heard a lot of people tell me even if you don't feel like it to eat some dry bikkies or toast. So before I would get out of bed hubby would bring me a piece of toast with a small bit of veggie or a couple of savoys, and I would find it a lot better! And I always kept some dry biscuits on me whenever I felt the urge i would nibble a bit. As a sceptic at first I have to say it got me thru a lot of work days. The good news was it all stopped at 15 weeks. Now I am pregnant with no2 and I am getting mild nausea at night, only at 8 weeks so counting down and hoping it stops like last time. I hope you feel better soon, and that some of the advice helps!

Thankfully I've been feeling a little better for the past 3 days. :smiliedance:
I'm going down south for a couple of nights tomorrow, it's only a 1 and a half hour drive but im not looking forward to it as driving really makes me ill. Stupid motion sickness. I'm gonna try to sleep in the car if possible.

I used to vomit in the morning before then after breakfast, go to work, feel nauseaous the whole morning then go home and vomit on my lunch break, go back to work feeling less than pretty! LOL and come home and night and vomit and the smell of my DH cooking dinner that he thought I would eat YUK!

Then I would have a good day and suggest going out for dinner and every single time we would have to pull over on the way home for me to vomit ( hubby stopped the dinner outings LOL)

Good Luck and hope it goes away for you soon! Just remember that lil bubba in your arms makes all the pregnancy aches and pain and vomits worth it LOL!

Aah I thought that's what they were. Im in perth, originally from Sydney but I don't recall the name Savoys. I have been eating Salada's which are pretty much the same thing :)

Oh god Bailey's Mummy, that sounds horrible. I'm glad ive only vomitted once, but when I did it was actually on an ok day so now im scared cos I have no idea when a vomit will come on.

Here's hoping tomorrows car trip is ok. :fingerscrossed:

I used to vomit continuously everyday & nite !
Dont worry your bub or shall i say parasite :p will get all it needs from you.
Trust me mine did LOL i pretty much only ate during the 8th month the first 7mths i couldnt keep anything down not even water half the time then the 9th month was back to the same & bubs was just off 10lb !!!!!!!
Try not to get worked up about it i know thats horrible to say as i hated people telling me this also but all i can advise is go with it. Try anything you can to stop it or if you find something that stays down eat it & live on it if need be but just try & hold out hopefully yours will stop soon enough :hugs:
