Hi

Just a question, when i was the clothes, they go in with no marks on them, but then they come out with black marks. Our washing machine is only a year old. What could be causing this? Its annoying because then I have to soak all the clean clothes that it happens to. Also it only happens sometimes. HELP

What does your DP do? Do you put workclothes through the wash?

My dh has a filthy job so I have 2 washing machines. I only buy 2nd hand washing machines to wash his clothes with.

Is it a top or front loader??? For top loader have you tried taking out the fabric softner bit and flushing it out. Maybe you could put a cycle through with some vinegar. Or you could ring the manufacturer and see if they have any suggestions.

That's your answer! The grease will be getting pulled out of the clothes and isn't getting washed away in the rinse but staying behind to get stuck on your next load.

You could try adding eucalyptus oil in with his clothes, could break the grease down a bit more or you could resort to a cheapo 2nd hand machine just for DP workclothes.

Hope you find something works!

You can buy stuff (or your dp would be able to get it) it is called degreaser. It stinks really badly. put a cycle through with this and then do a couple of cycles with just washing powder and stuff. It should clean it out, but sometimes the smell of the degreaser is hard to remove.

You really would be best to get a cheapo one and getting your dp to hook it up in the garage or something (to a cold water tap). I have this and it has saved our non work clothes.

hope this helps

Yeah sounds like your hubby's clothes are leaving their mark LOL.
I would try the second washing machine if possible otherwise it may be a case of regularily washing out your machine & cleaning the filter etc alot of gunk will be in the filter so maybe once thats cleaned you may have no dramas but you will need to keep it that way so it doesnt happen again.
Good luck !

Otherwise you could take a trip to the laundromat once a week, though htat might work our more expensive than buying a second hand machine!!

Here's something you can try. A neighbour of mine had a problem like this with her newish machine and when the serviceman came out he told her it was caused by grease from the wash and BODY FAT, well, oils anyway, that solidify in the cold wash. Best way to get rid of it is to do a hot wash with some dishwashing detergent (not too much!!!), and as suggested before, a little white vinegar would probably help. Got rid of the problem no worries at all....
