I am currently on the 3rd day of my 3rd period after baby. I have always had very bacd periods due to Endo and PCOS - but this is ridiculous! At the moment I am going thru a super tampon and heavy pad every 1-2 hours and I am losing quite a lot in clots (sorry!). Last night it ended up a night mare! There is a dull pain all the time (compared to labour you sort of get over period pain don't you!

was it this bad for others or could this be a sign there may be something wrong?

Hi there Kate,
I had this recently and it was about my third cycle too. It went on for 2 weeks too.Maybe it takes the third cycle to clear out all retained product of pregnancy, I guess the slightest piece of residue would be enough to cause a slight infection hence a bit of bleeding.Thats my theory anyway lol
Hope you feel better soon....have a beroca, you'll be bouncing around in no time:smiliedance:

My first few cycles were a nightmare too. I got to the stage that I called my OB and he sent me for blood tests (all clear).

When I was still bleeding very heavily a couple of weeks later, I went to the GP and he referred me for an internal ultrasound just to make sure everything was OK.
It was, and since then I have gone back onto a regular pill and am back into my pre baby cycle.......thank goodness.

If you are worried, a visit to the doc is bever a waste of time.

Hope it goes for you soon and you start to feel more human. :)

Hey KateP,
I'm going through the exact same thing and it's only my first period :( ! I'm going through 2 super pads in 1/2 hours and there are HEAPS of clots! TMI!!!! I have to wear my granny BLACK undies that I was wearing after the bubs was born! Not happy Jan!

It's this kind of thing they forget to tell you :crying: and by they I mean Dr's, Ante-natal classes and various books.....or maybe they did and I wasn't listening lol
