Hey guys i have read the other thread regarding this topic i have had this condition on my scalp most of my life and just this past year i have been getting it on my legs and its driving me nuts i have tried all the shampoos and creams and nothing works. I recently went back to nz where im from and a family member who is a natrapath told me she sees this condition all the time and she said that the prescribed medications are a waste of time and to keep this conditon under control you have to treat it from the inside out. meaning that we have to ingest something to fix it. she has reccommended flax seed oil which i believe you can buy at the supermarket. I have thought about this and agree with what she is saying as the condition starts under the skin so i guess treating from the inside out is pretty logical. im really going to give this a go im sick of spending hundreds on stinky shampoos and skin creams which have no benefit at all.

i would be interested to hear from anyone else who has tried this

Hi,

I'm not to sure what the other thread you mentioned talks about, but my dad had psoriasis on his scalp as well, he was told to spend time in the sunshine (although to avoid excessive amounts of the sun) or to use a solarium (I know this can eventually cause other problems) as a solarium omits the same UV-B light that the sun does and this is supposed to help the psoriasis clear up...

it worked for him the psoriasis disappeared...

But then I guess it depends on whether you want to take the risk of using a solarium

Good Luck,

Lisa.

how long had your dad had it and was it only on a scalp i will try that i know there bad but i have used them before and it was really relaxing may be a nice try to get rid of this awful problem and get a nice tan at the same time thankyou for your reply

I've had this for years!

I use a combination of tar based creams and steriods which work best for me. when I've had massages, my massusse uses Emu oil on my. My Dad gets it and he swears by omega 3 fish oil. Evening primrose oil tablets are a good option too. Worse thing is the treatment is so individual for it.

There are many treatments available but because of its chronic recurrent nature psoriasis is a challenge to treat.
