How well an air purifier works ?

Good Morning All,

I finally decied to go for an air purifier...

I have an awful lot of dust here and thinking of purchasing one for the baby room.If you have used one, how well it works to remove dust from air?

What type of air purifier would best meet my need?I have heard there are three types, electrostatic, ionic and HEPA , right? Somebody told me its pretty hard to find filters to replace , is that true?
