Hi,

My DD is only 9 months old, but every time I put her in her high chair, she will act like she is doing a poo. She doesn't actually do a poo every time she is in there, but she will always strain and look like she wants to do one.

She isn't always constipated either because a lot of the time her poos are soft etc.

I am just wondering.. do you think it is too early to get her a potty for her to have a go in? I feel like she is using her chair as a potty and if I got one maybe she will use that instead?

I don't want to feel like I am pressuring her because I don't want it to backfire on me in the end!

Any ideas would be great!

Sounds a bit too soon for me, maybe the position that shes sitting in the chair makes it easier for her to go.

I know that years ago they used to offer a potty like when my mum was a baby but I think that they need to understand cognitively what they are doing.

My older girls were both using the toilet day and night by two years within to weeks because they were ready and and understood what they were doing and the messages their bodies were sending them.

This just may be a comfortable position for her, its a bit cute.

9 months is very young I know that there will be people who disagree but they are bubs for such a short time I wouldn't rush her just enjoy.
