I am booked into frankston to have my little angel, sometime this month...

The recommeded stay for c-sec is 4 nights natural birth 2 nights...

The middys are great! can't say a bad thing about them... always happy to help and offer advice etc...

I think they provide the nappies but not clothing for the bub... Once I have had mine i shall let you know the finer details...

Hope that this has helped...

Good Luck with your pregnancy!!!!

Hey I had my son at frankston back in 2006.

I couldn't rate them higher. I ended up having a emergency c section and everyone was fantastic I didn't feel scared as I knew I was in safe hands.

Midwifes are lovely but It's all the luck of the draw. I know another mum who had a horrible midwife during delivery and that ruined it for her. But with my experiences I found most of them to be great caring and helpful especially over night as I couldn't move out of bed to get my son they came in straight away and took him out for an hour or so at times so I could sleep. During the day they come in and out to check on you and the bubs but if they can see your doing fine they leave you to it. Happy to print out info you need on any baby stuff.

You stay for 4 days after you have a c section.

Like the other lady said they provide nappies and little packets of wipes. sample of baby bath stuff.

Good luck with everything

I had my daughter in Frankston hospital in Dec 06 and the staff for the most part were wonderful I was induced so was there the day and night before I delivered and the staff were great the midwife for the delivery was fantastic (and the doctor on call was nice too) infact apart from one nurse who was a bit cranky when I was moving from the delivery suite to the room as myparents, in-laws including sister inlaw and neice were all there and my neice was just walking and went into the hall twice...:p (she was nice when I was on my own)
The only other issue I had was with them "teaching " me how to latch bub on for breast feeding.. they kept doing it for me when I just wanted them to watch me do it and see if I had it right LOL.

Good luck!
Oops one more thing if you have had previousl bubs and straitforward deliveries (and there are too many bubs being born) you could be sent to the Rosebud hospital which is new and lovely apparently but I believe that you are hard pressed to get an epidural and if you need a c-section you will be sent to Fra anyway. (You can choses to go there too)

Just wanted to reply to this bit :) Rosebud don't do deliveries at all anymore. They couldn't get an ob so all babies are delivered at Frankston Hillview and then mum and bub are transferred back to Rosebud Hospital for the remainder of the stay.
