Port Hedland - anyone there now or has lived there?

There is a possibility that we could be relocating to Port Hedland for DH to work with BHP. We currently live in NE Victoria so obviously it's going to be quite a change! I'm finding it difficult to find information on the town though, and wondering what it is like to live there.

If anyone has lived there before or lives there and has any bits of information for me I would much appreciate it!

I know this post is old, but did you end up moving?

We are in a similar situation now, DH quite possibly has a job up there and we will be relocating ( from Perth )

If you made the move, I'd love to hear how your liking/not liking the town :)

Old thread I know but thought I'd give it a bump up.

I live in Tom Price but go to PH often. Its a nice town has all the standard shops (K-Mart/Coles Woolworth)

It get HOT like all places in the pilbara. It has a brand new hospital, which is awesome! Plenty of playgroups and lots of sporting groups.
