Just as a matter of interest - hope its not too personal, how often are people having sex when they are ttc?
Sorry, it might sound strange - but i dont thing we are doing it enough!
I eally have not researched into things yet - temperatures and such - but i thought if nothing happened in a few months i would start reading up on methods. Well, nothing happened yet - i assume im ovulating - been off pill since beginning of January.
I dont really want to bring the whole"lets do it more' thing up with DF - i dont want our sex life to feel like its revolving around creating a baby!!!;)

When we were first TTC, we felt too much pressure to increase the frequency (it actually decreased), so we just took note of my CM (did it twice within 4 days) and conceived first month.

I'm feeling like a prude hearing about all these ladies who are as busy as rabbits!

Hope this helps!

when we were ttc#1 we were at it every day at least once a day, and it still took almost 2 years!

This time around with bub in our lives we are only managing it every second day :crying:

We have been TTC#1 since Oct and I have found that my obsession with getting the alusive BFP has put too much pressure on my DH. He works 12hr shifts 13 days a fortnight and was just to tired to keep at it all the time - think we missed even trying for the egg most months. So anyway this month have started using OPK's so I will only need to apply a few days of pressure and the rest can happen naturally :D

Ok - im a bit naive (and yep - same boat mum2b!) - so how can you tell from cm? I told you - not really that knowledgable about a few things - i've never really taken notice of cm!!!

Geez - every day - dont think i can manage that! Too tired from work at the moment!:o

But if it 'helps' - problem is df works so hard and so long at the moment one of us nearly always falls asleep!!:D

Any advice? (apart from do it more!):yelclap:

the Jury's out on that one, some experts say every day is better, some say every second or third day is better.....

I bought an ovulation kit from the supermarket- came with 5 testers and a preg test. Included in the instructions I found some useful tips on working out when I'd be ovulating. Used it the first month we were TTC, a day early but we were going away- didn't want to use it at someone else's house:eek:! It was neg but "did it":o a couple of times (am & pm) before we went away the next day and must have conceived around then:smiliedance: .

This might help you as you will know when to go like rabbits and when you can relax a bit!

All the very best of luck!:fingerscrossed:

When we conceived, we bd'd every second day from day 8 to about day 26, but every day for three days when I had a positive OPK in the middle of this time. Hope that helps....

;) :hugs: :smiliedance:

Thanks Kazza! I knew you could buy hpt from supermarket - didnt even know you could get ovulation kits!

Im wondering if we should give it a rest - start trying again next month - so somebody needs to start a TTC in April - this time i'll join it!!

I need some prayers.....

DjF is you are interested in OPK's, I got mine cheap from fertilitynaturopath.com about $10 for 20.

I tried the OPT, but I found it put a lot of pressure on because I was constantly thinking about it. However, it will give you an idea of your peak days for future months.

CM is creamy egg white consistency (sticky if you touch it) for around 3 days in the middle of your cycle (you might even get blobs). The last day you get CM is your most fertile day (however spermies can live 3-4 days so you don't have to do it EVERY day, spec if you stay on your back, raise ya bum and go to sleep straight after coz they will travel up there themselves).

I also didn't tell DH the peak days - I actually told him "It probably won't happen this month" to reduce the pressure.

Hope this helps!

Also, apparently your bits warm up and get a bit of blood pumping around that time too. I found www.babycenter.com very informative.

Thank god for all you lovely ladies who tell it like its real!:yelclap:

I also put "Baby" or "pregnancy" in Google and looked at whatever turned up. Can never have too much info (espec when you're wasting time at work he he).

hello, we have just been trying every 2nd day around O time. We only went for it 3 times this month so just waiting to see if we are successful. But i am feeling like we should be "doing it" more often! (ha sounds funny) glad we can talk openly in here!

I am the same as you aswell, not using any kits, or taking temps. Just going with the flow for now (its only our 2nd month of trying). May try the kits if we have no success after another month.

we did it everyday but i've been told that its actually not a good idea - something to do with the sperms mobility?? I was told that the blokes need to build up a good stock and if DF is work hard, long hours and is tired then it stands to reason that his swimmers are going to suffer?? So we got an ovulation kit to focus our "efforts" - still waiting to see if it worked. wish us luck and good luck to you too. :D

hello!
I read somewhere (cant remember where though of course now i want to remember) that the egg only has a life span of 12 to 24hours, so our plan of attack was to bd at least once a day in the week leading up to o and the week after, seems to of worked!
Good luck to everyone ttc! I hope you all get your BFP's!
Take Care
