I just finished reading the when did your baby go to 1 daily sleep.
dd1 still at the moment sleeps for 2 day sleeps and 12 hours at night. day sleeps consist of 2 lots of 1-1.5 hours. it fits in with our routine but mainly cos i am too scared to change it as i dont know if it will affect her badly or not. in saying all this she has taken nealry one hour to go to sleep this morning, jsut blabbering in her cot.
now my question being, when do you fit bottles in and food if they are going down for a sleep at lunch time. at the moment dd has 3 bottles, and goes down to bed at 2 after lunch at 130.
i like routine and i honestly think dd does(maybe i conditioned her to this the poor darling)so it'd be great if anyone can offer suggestions.
i'm hoping whatever new routine i develop will go wel with our new baby due in may.i'd love the bubs to have a sleep together....hmmmm wishful thinking.

My DD2 had 2 daily sleeps from 1-2 hours right up until she was 2 and a bit, I didnt dare deprive her of what she obviously needed, she let me know when she didnt need 2 anymore, she also still had bottles every 4 hours during the night up until 2 so let her go if that what she wants, who are we to take away things that they need just because the "book" says so

My DS went down to one sleep when I found it really hard to get him to go to sleep for his 2 naps. I am like you and always loved routine but I have relaxed a little now that he is down to one sleep.

His day is usually like this:

7:30am wake up, bottle, breakfast
9:30am snack
11:30am lunch
12:00pm sleep

I then let him sleep for as long as he wants which is usually between 2 and 3.5 hours. Sometime after he wakes up I give him another snack.

6:00pm dinner
7:30pm bed

If you have noticed he is only having two bottles. I found he drank more having two bottles a day than if he had three. If I was to give him three, I would probably give it to him just before his nap or just after depending on when he would take it.

Also, it took a couple of weeks for us to get into the 1 sleep routine. Some days I found that he needed two sleeps so I found myself alternating between them until he didn't need it anymore.
