Woke at 2 this morning in pain, my upper back is so sore, it hurts sooo much. I can hardly lay down to rest.
The only heavy lifting I've been doing is that of DS almost 2.
Is anyone here experiencing ridiculous back pain?
What are you taking or doing for it?

i was having pain in my back after i put my son in the car once, i was getting a pain that was going to my hip and then down my leg too, i could hardly walk from it. i went to the doc and he told me just to rest and take panadol or panadiene, or i could go to a physio. hope that helps, u can also use a hot water bottle on ur back too.

My baby is only 9 months old so i have to carry her and her baby bag every where.. my doc said its also because you carry your second differently an di only did it 9.5 months ago...
As for taking some thing.. panadol occasionally.. i take too many tablets now...
I got a brochure for massage for pregnancy Dh said to give it a go nothing could get worse..

I changed the pillow that I was using between my legs and that has helped a bit with the upper back pain at night. I now use a normal sized flattish pillow rather than just a cushion. Don't know why but it helps.
I also had a massage on the weekend and the massusese (sp??) got a couple of knots out which helped.
Arnica, a homoepathic cream for muscle strain, is nice, heat packs work well too. I also see a chiro/kinesiologist who works wonders!
I think it's because we're doing all the lifting with our upper backs rather than our stomach mucles as we usually do, plus because the pregnancies are so close together those tummy muscles never really had a chance to come back!

If you're willing to try it, I would definately reccommend seeing a chiro.
I have been having some neck pain, went for one visit and he fixed it straight away. Said the problem was not my neck, rather my upper back.
Also- he told me the birthing process is made easier by having a correctly aligned body. Which I guess makes sense!!!!!!!

i woke up this morning with extreme back pain in the lower half on the right side. it feels like ive pinched a nerve or somethig. i have no idea how it couldve happened. i went to the shops before and my right leg kept failing on me. the pain is just above my bottom shooting down my leg now.
does anyone know what this could be?
im hoping its just a pinched nerve. :fingerscrossed:
oh and should i go and see about it?

Sounds like Sciatic pain or Sciatica, the sciatic nerve that starts at the bottom of your spine and runs down each leg through your butt cheeks can get squashed and send shooting pains down your legs. You'll probably have to see a chiro who will adjust your pelvis so it's back in alignment. It doesn't hurt to get it adjusted.
