Hello everyone,
The dude has mastered commando crawling and is now getting into everything that is inappropriate for a baby  .
When he touches something I don't want him to, I say "no, that's not for babies", and remove his hand. Then I turn him around and offer him something else.
Is this right? How did you go about teaching your 8 month old what not to touch?

Strangely enough, I would take his hand away and say 'No touching, that's not for babies"..... He still listens to that one and won't touch something he's simply told is 'not for babies !'
Do I hear an echo ??
And Congratulations Little Dude !!!!:yelclap: :yelclap:
hey ali :hugs:
I have to say - even though my little man isn't at that stage yet - I was pretty damn impressed with the way you handle your little dude's exploration
he's a pretty smart munchkin - and he will figure it out with you ... the key (I believe) is consistency... and you are certainly doing that!!!
I love the fact that your approach doesn't involve a raised voice or smack... just lots of love and patience... I pray that when my son gets to that stage I will be as patient and sweet as you ..
:hugs:

Aww thanks Veve, you are just lovely :hugs: .
Rynosmum - so it works?
My little miss has just mastered the army crawl as well. I was wondering if they actually comprehend what "no" means??
 bec it is usually their first word... so they MUST figure it out eventually :D
- at work we are told to use the word STOP instead of NO ... STOP is an instruction... not just a general reaction... I dont know whether that would work better??? maybe you could play a stop/ go game??? I dont know... just throwing ideas around... :ecomcity:
