Hi mums
My first thread in this section!
Just wondering how other mums are coping with being stay at home mums, as most of my mothers group mums have gone back to work part time and I really dont have much contact with them any more. I find it hard to socialise during the day as family members are all at work and sometimes I just feel weird about that.
I havent joined a play group yet but think it would be ideal for DD1 who will be 10 months old end of Feb to go to so that both of us get a bit more interaction with people!
Lately its been long walks (I luv excercise) after her 2nd nap in the afternoon or going to the shops (preparing for Christening).
Im having a tough time ATM with her teething, a cold and being whingy a lot so I feel a bit isolated. As I said I cant really talk to anyone during the day as everyones working. Im dying to go back to work in August but shes breastfed so thats holding me back a bit too.
Id love to hear what other mums are doing.

Hi - I've been wondering the same lately as up until 3 weeks ago, we lived with friends who had a 1 year old so DS & I always had playmates when the hubbies were at work.
We're now in our own home, so far so good, I've been able to keep DS busy with walks in the morning after breakfast, trip to the shops and/or another walk in the afternoon.
We might also be joining a Playgroup in another Suburb nearby as I know it's only a matter of time before DS gets bored with me. We're also looking into Gymbaroo - will see if we can afford it.
I really do miss work at times - it's a different kind of stress that I miss (weird). Still not sure when/ if I'll go back as we're hoping to have another one soon. We're also taking in my hubby's 10yr old nephew from next week. His dad is going to WA for work, indefinite time. Will be interesting how it goes, raising a 10 yr old!! At least that'll be another face for Chase to look at and another playmate hopefully.
By the way, have you tried the Brauer Teething Relief & Bonjela? They worked well for Chase (he now has 8 teeth). I'm sure it'll just be a matter of time and your DD should settle again soon.
 Hi there ladies.. Welcome to the SAHM section LOL.. Well I dont often usually run out of things to do as I am a SAHM of 3 kiddies and due to have my fourth in 6 weeks.. Their ages are DS 12, DD 9 and DD 1.5.. So with two at school and one at home I have lots to keep me busy pretty much most of the time.. I am trying to think back to when I only had one and I do remember that I was pretty lonely also due to my family and friends living 1 hour away and working.. I used to take my DS to a Kindergym 2 or 3 times a week so that we could get out of the house and interact with other mums and bubs.. Playgroups are a great idea as you can strike up new friendships with mums in the same situation as yourself.. But I found once you have another child you really dont have too much time to get bored LOL.. There is a whole bunch of us SAHMs who chat on the SAHMs 12!!! thread if you would like to come and join us.. You never know you may even be in the same area as someone on there and be able to have bubhub meets:thumbsup:
Michellea75 10 yr olds are great to have around the house with bubs.. They truly are such a big help with all of those little things.. It will be great and how nice of you and your hubby to take him in like that while his dad is away for work:thumbsup:

Hi ladies,
I too am a SAHM to 8 1/2month old Cody. He is my first and I just love being at home with him! I do miss work, more so the social side of it, but have been lucky to find a really great mother Group with some ladies I can really relate to. We now meet up for coffee through the week and catch up. It really has made it a happier time for both of us, as he can play with the bubs and I can chat and whinge as much as I want and the ladies all understand!
Cody has been teething since he was 3 months and still has not teeth to date, but has had a really really bad week, so I am praying that they are not far away. I have always used the Bonjela gel, and also the Brauer products. They seems to work well most of the time, and the times it doesn't the nurofen works wonders.
I hope your little one gets some relief soon lipsmackers!
