DS kinder informed me there was a few kids who had it the other day at first i thought that ds was getting them as he had a few spots, but his told me now that he got bitten by mozzies at kinder, even though i was thinking Hmm his getting them at the time. I was like yay he didnt.

Last night bubs was pretty grumpy moody, a little warm etc and pretty much hung off me all night, i figured she was teething or she was just having a bad night. When i changed her this morning i noticed a few spots and didnt think much of it 2 hours later her more spots over her belly and back......now her arms :( Suprisingly today she is happy, shes happy to sleep and shes quiet content but her spots are growing. I figure i will just let her sleep and keep an eye on her. Shes a little warm. I rang my gp and he said just to let it run its course, panadol when necessary but if she seems out of it etc or stops feeding then to come in and see him otherwise there isnt much we can do but keep her comfy. When the itching starts i am guessing she will be pretty unsettled.

What can i use on her thats safe? Shes nearly 4 months, i dont want to take her out as its freezing cold here and i guess going in and out will mess with her temp more. My lovely neighbours going to go to the chemist for me later on. (i saw her when i got the mail and its like Ummm can you please look at dd, i only ever say hi so i feel horrible but she offered which was nice)

Awww poor Indie!!

I would just use some calamine lotion, lightly dab it on with some cotton wool and it should stop the itching.

oh no!! i remember your thread from the other day! Poor little thing! I hope she doesn't get it too bad. What about the other kids? did they get it too?

I have no idea how to make it better. At least she can't scratch them and scar! Just keep up the booby juice!

The others dont have it, dd9 has had it twice so shes going to be in the clear. DS seems fine unless his just one of those lucky kids and dd3 has had the vax for it so she might miss out too. DH hasnt had it i dont think so he will probably cop it.

I am just suprised shes happy well just happy to sleep i guess its all over when the itching begins. Maybe i need to squirt her spots with boobie juice wonder if that would stop the itching when it starts

Thanks charisma will get some calamine i wasnt sure about the age thing i guess if its off her hands it will be ok

PB, when my older two were small, they had chicken pox and as the sores healed, especially on DD as she was literally covered in them, I used Solugel to cover the spots. It seemed to stop the itching enough to stop the scratching.

You can get it in the pharmacy

Homeopathically you could use apis to soothe the itchiness and you could give her chamomilla to settle her if she is restless.

Awww poor little Indie..:hugs:

I remembered seeing this in another thread so thought i would pop it here for you pb, sounds like good advice. Hope you don't mind KayteO! :)

DO NOT USE CALAMINE

It drys the surface of the sores, and encourages scarring

see your chemist for Solujel, or Pinetarsol

I've heard of oatmeal, but never used it

Hope it passes quickly for her.

:iagree: stay very well away from calamine lotion for them!

Solujel or Pinetarsol are the best. When I had them at 17 (ugh) I used pinetarsol, it stinks :barf: but works

Hope poor little Indie doesn't get too itchy :hugs:
