Hi,

Just a thought. I conceived DS#1 pretty easily but bub#2 just ain't happening.

I have a rhesus negative blood type and my husband has a positive blood type. As far as I am aware there is only a problem if the baby has a different rhesus factor and the bloods mix during pregnancy.

In the case of DS#1 all when well. I had precautionary Anti-D injections during pregnancy and the cord blood was tested and I didn't need any further injections after the birth.

NOW, the question: Has anyone had any problems in conceiving a second child because of rhesus blood problems? In my case I'm not even conceiving.

Thanks
Incy

Incy~

I have had 4 other children " naturally" and I have o- blood and my former partner was A+. I dont think it has any bearing on conceiving.

Have you asked a FS about it ??

did they test the baby to see what blood he has? If he had negative then it shouldn't be a problem but if it was positive then you should of had the injection. Do you know his blood group?

I have A- and had the anti-D's during pregnancy. Bubs was +ve so I had the needle after she was born too.

Whilst I have had problems conceiving a 2nd ...I dont think the problems have anything to do with the rhesus factor .....

Thanks for the replies ladies.

You've backed up my understanding but you know how paranoid you get when things aren't working without an explanation. I thought if someone came back and said, "Yes" I might be able to go off and sort out a probable cause.

I might mention it to FS but think he'll say it's not a problem as I'm not conceiving then miscarrying.

Thanks again,
