howdy
i was due to ovulate on the 16th feb. So far nothing has happened. I am like clock work and get my period on the 28th day and always ovulate exactly 14days later. I get very strong signs of ovulating a day before, pain in the side where the egg is being released, this discharge but so far I have had no signs at all.
does this mean that i wont be able to concieve this month??? Is there something wrong with me.
help....
has this happened to anyone else??

i would test :D
i am a poas holic tho
im pretty sure i have had one or two cycles where i thought i didnt ovulate, no ewcm etc, but im still breastfeeding, and that can play a big part in ovulation.
saying that though, if you are pretty regular, id test!
good luck :fingerscrossed:
Yeah, you might be UTD, or you may just not have had any of the normal signs this month.
Have you checked your cervix? What CD are you on? Did you get any CM? :detective:

I havent tested, i didnt even consider i might be UTD. Everything seems normal...it is just strange for me. Can you concieve before you ovulate and then you don't ovulate because you have concieved??? Does that make any sense??
I might a couple of days before I get myself too excited...
I don't think you can conceive before you ovulate- the act of ovulation in itself is the maturing of an egg... therefore, I am pretty sure (although not certain) that you can't really conceive if the egg is not mature.
Do you have any idea what CD you are up to? Can you bring yourself to check your cervix? (A little bit gross I know, but it's a good indicator of whether you have O'd and therefore fertile, or if you are still waiting to O)

Im not up to spead on all the terms, or what i should really be looking out for. I just know that I ovulate when i loose the thick clear discharge and usually it only happens for 2hours to 6hours. I have to be quick to catch it, sometimes I start to ovulate at 1am and by 6am its over and the opportunity has been missed....that is normal for me.
It was really strange, i conceived my daughter a couple of days prior to getting my period, i had already ovulated....i dont know how but somehow it happened.....
Ok, best plan of attack:
So you're usually a 28 day cycle, so that means you would ov around day 14ish.
From day 10 onwards, BD every other day, up until around CD 18. This gives DP's supply time to replenish between each time firstly. Secondly, his guys can live up to 5 days inside you. You want them in you, waiting for that egg to descend down to meet them. iykwim?!?
The CM you are referring to is known as EWCM. The more, the better- it helps protect the little guys against the acidity inside you. Green tea is known to help produce more CM.
With checking your cervix, low and soft (like your bottom lip) means that you are fertile. If it is high and hard (like the tip of your nose) it means you aren't in your fertile window, and usually af is about to come.
HTH :)

swap your highs and lows noms.
high, soft, open = fertile
low, firm, closed = not fertile
Whoops, my bad. I really should go to bed!

My guess is that you just have delayed ovulation...happens VERY frequently. Anything can delay it - change in diet, lack of sleep, stress, medications, etc...
You cannot conceive before ovulating...the act of conception only occurs when the egg is released from the follicle...the egg gets fertilised only AFTER ovulation (the act of releasing the egg). In saying that, its best to bd days before ovulation occurs so there is sperm waiting for the egg to be released. As for conceiving your dd, the egg dies with 12-48 hrs after being released, so my guess is that you ovulated really late that cycle (hence why you thought you conceived only days before your af). If you arent temping or charting, you cant confirm ovulation has even occurred. Discharge can be a sign, but is only reliable when used in accordance with other methods, such as temping, using opks, cervical position, etc. I would strongly suggest you use opks next month to make sure you are in fact o'ing when you think you are...
Sorry if that was really long...I reckon I should have a degree in this by now with the millions of hours I have researched it all, haha! :)
Good luck!
