View Full Version : unsure what this is
just behind jd's front top tooth seems blackish. it looked like something was stuck there but i have run my finger nail along the back of the tooth but it all ok and still there after brushing.
could it possibly be something like a blood blister??? he did have a small fall and knock his mouth thats why i think it could be that. any help would be appreciated. thanks :detective:

Hmmm it could be a blood blister. Could it be a mouth ulcer? Is it bothering him? I think I'd just keep an eye on it each day, and if it doesn't go away perhaps check with a GP.
Boys and their falls, hey :hair: Some days I think my boy (21 months) has banged every part of his body - still he runs around and climbs and jumps and throws himself off things :hair:
t does sound like a blood blister.
Just keep an eye on it and if it is hurting him or is there for awhile get it cheaked.

Is the black on the tooth? Is it possible he damaged the nerve in the tooth when he fell?
I only ask as I have this problem with one of my teeth. It's slowly going black due to a dead nerve. I'd take a trip to the dentist, just to make sure. It probably won't matter because they're baby teeth, but you could get it checked out anyway.
Hope it's ok...
thanks everyone. the tooth only looks a little black but i think its more from behind. the tooth itself isnt fully through yet so i will give it a couple of days and see how it goes. if it isnt going away soon will take a trip to the dentist.
my DS had the same thing about 9months ago... i freaked and took him to the dentist asap...
they basically said it could have been from a fall, knocking it etc and it being bruised... they said, it will either die and fall out, or will go back to normal... luckily his went back to normal after a month or so.
Problem solved thank goodness.
i pinned him down and had a good look and gave a good scrub with toothbrush and hey presto a piece of bark came out!!!! the things these kids manage to sneak into their mouths.
thanks again for all the advice.
