Hey
I used this info when we were trying. It worked for us.
http://www.*************.com.au/GettingPregnant/Conceiving/Ovulation.cfm

I was on the pill for about 5 years before we started trying and it took 4 months for me to fall.

Keep positive! Google ovulation for more sites.

Peace :D

It took my husband & I over a year to fall pregers with this bub.
Don't get too stressed, it can take a while. Also I mentioned this in another thread, but try eating sweet potatoe. It helps regulate ovulation and conception, but does increase your chances of having twins. Good luck.

I was on the pill for 10 years before trying for my first child. It took 5 months to get pregnant. This time it took 9 months and I ended up having acupuncture which worked straight away.

Hi,
I was on the pill for 10 years before coming off to it to start trying to conceive. It took us 5 months to get pregnant, then we had a miscarriage at 8 weeks, then it took us another 5 months to get pregnant again so all up it was a year. I am now 16 weeks pregnant and keeping my fingers crossed that this one sticks with us (so far so good). It was a very frustrating year - I am a bit hopeless and when I decide that I want to do something I want it to happen then ASAP - I can organise all other parts of my life to happen when I want them but conceiving is a different story which I found hard to deal with.

The one thing that helped us work out when I was ovulating was using ovulation prediction kits which are urine tests that show a blue line when you are about to ovulate (they helped us get pregnant both times). We really needed to do this because I had irregular cycles (anywhere from 31 days to 44 days) so was not ovulating on a regular day of my cycle. They were expensive ($70 for 5 tests and I had to buy a couple of packs each time to test every day from day 14 until I saw the line which was day 29 one month). Still took us a few goes to get pregnant but it was all worth it (I justified the cost because I was drinking a lot less beer than I normally did while trying to get pregnant so was saving us money on that).

Best of luck Krystal and if it still hasn't happended after 12 months you should talk to an Obstetrician. I started talking to mine the month before I got pregnant for the second time because I was frustrated with my irregular cycles and he was about to put me on a drug called Clomid which would have ensured I ovulated regularly and given us a better chance of getting pregnant easily (in the end I was already pregnant when we he was writing the script for the drug which is quite bizarre). Anyway there's all sorts of things they can do these days which is nice to know.
Hopefully you will be pregnant soon - good luck.

Hi there all,

It will happen eventually so do try to not stress. I was on the pill for 5years because of a family history of endrometriosus before my partner and I decided to settle down and start raising a family. It took me 6 months to fall pregnant with my son. After he was born I went back on the pill for two years now I seem to be having more trouble in concieving.

A good thing to learn to do is chart your cycle so you can get an understanding of when ovulation is occuring or if in fact it is occuring at all.

H there. I had that implanon implanted for 2 years (mind you i WOULD NOT recomment it to ANYONE!!!!) I got it taken out after 2.5 years and i fell pregnant within 2 months of trying - i was one of the lucky ones. I actually didnt think it would happen so quick but i am now 17 weeks pregnant and very happy. It will happen....just keep trying and make sure you enjoy trying because they reckon the more relaxed you are the more chance you have of succeeding. Goodluck :D

I'm one of those women who have found that conception is easy for them (at last I'm good at something!)

My first was conceived by accident, my 2nd in the first month as well and my 3rd after 3 months of trying (2 of them with mastitis, so was told to discount them by the doctor as the infection would have hindered conception).

On the downside I get morning sickness 24 hours a day for the first 20 weeks.

I was on the pill for almost 4 years before my husband & i decided to have a baby. We are well prepared ie. our mortage is doing well, we both doing well with our job, we have travelled enough and looking forward to travel as a family in the near future (June long weekend)....bottom line we're happy and contented. Sure enough within 2 weeks after I stop taking the pills (Logynon ED), I fell pregnant!

Thomas is now almost 3 months old, gorgeous, healthy and happy bub he is!

So good luck, just remember: be happy and relax, Krystal :p

I was on the pill for about 5 years. Decided to stop while I was single and let my body get back to normal. Six months later I had unprotected sex with my now husband and fell pregnant the first time we had sex. We are happily married now with a 6 month old daughter. To me it was the right place at the right time. We must both be very fertile.

Hi Nic,
hope all is going well with you. I just had a thought when I read your message, has your doc ever checked you out with an ultrasound when your periods got erratic? I suddenly wondered because the other day I found out about a couple of women who had Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and only found out about it after a couple of pregnancies. Might be worth a check, might be just babblin here ;)
Have a great day

Hi Krystal,

I was on the pill for 8 years without a break and we managed it in 8 months. But as every1 always says no 2 people are the same so dont expect too much from your body you will only stress urself out  !

Good luck! Hope it happens real soon for you! Im now 27 weeks and loving every day of it :D

Hi Krystal

I was told by a wise old friend to abstain from sex from the end of my period to ovulation - I conceived that month. I understand that it gives a chance for sperm to really develop and mature. It worked for me anyway. Good luck and try not to stress out - I also think that is half the battle :)

I came off the pill in October after being on it for well over 12 years (I am 32 now), and used protection for three months to help flush it out of my system and to try to get an idea of my true menstrual cycle. So mid January it was "Go live" and throw all the condoms away and well ... the rest is history I never got another period and am now 18 weeks pregnant. I was pretty relaxed about trying as I reckoned it'd take about 6 months practising ;) - just goes to show how wrong you can be and that we are all different.

Good luck
