Has anyone been to the doctors at the Barrack Street Practice?
Im booked in there for my maternity care, as I have finally cracked it with my other doctor!
SHE WAS NEARLY 2 HOURS LATE FOR MY APPOINTMENT YESTERDAY BEFORE I FINALLY GOT SICK OF WAITING AND LEFT!!!!!
Normally I have a toddler in tow, or work, its a matter of not being able to afford to have 2 hours sitting around in the doctors surgery waiting.
So, has anyone been to Barrack Street? Ive heard good things about them from my auntie, but would like to know if I should expect a wait! LOL

ME!
2 HOURS?!!
That's radiculous!
What did the reception staff say? What was the reason she was running so incredibly late? She should have offered to reschedule after 45 mins of waiting IMO.

Ummm thats the norm now..... Thus why Im changing doctors.
I rang at 4 from work, and again at 430... when i got there at 445 they told me there were only 2 infront of me now, but by the time number 3 went in (at 545) we had just had enough.

Yep, it's really awkward when they do that, I too experienced that, most of the time neither the doctor or the receptionist have children so they are ignorant and don't know how difficult it is to wait around with a toddler in tow, whether it's 1/2 hour or two.
I moved doctors during my pregnancy, because I was quoted one thing for my out of pocket and paid nearly twice that amount....grrrr....
Sometimes doctors just aren't as in touch with families as they think they are.
Goodluck with finding a doctor. For my first pregnancy I saw Helen Friebel in North Hobart and she was FANTASTIC! And I didn't wait around either:)

LOL Jess THAT bulk billing doctor is the one Ive been having problems with! :p :) I love the bulk billing, but its pointless going if there is no care anymore. :(
ahhhh what a bugger! So close too!
Have you had any luck finding a better doctor yet?

There is a really good doctor female in New Town that I saw when I was pregnant with Connor.
She was really good and because I was doing share care with her and the KYM1 team (before the orange books) she faxed through my notes the day before my appointments.
I never had any problems getting an appointment and the longest I ever waited was 10 minutes...and she bulk bills.
With Lily I saw a doctor at Dodges Ferry who was exactly the same. You could ring that morning and get an appointment 15 minutes later. For the first 3 appointments we were charged $5 but after the fourth appointment there was no charge.
My sister was with a doctor on the eastern shore who bulk bill and if they are running late they ring to let you know so your not sitting around waiting.
