Hi
I have been reading alot of the other threads about the Mountain Buggy and have only heard good things about it. Are there any bad points?
I was thinking of buying the Phil and Teds but have been reading some threads and reviews on some other sites and have heard some bad things about them so now I am thinking the Mountain Buggy is the best.
So anyone not like the Mountain Buggy?
Natalie
The only bad point I can think of is that it doesn't take a toddler seat.
I agree with draught....that's it's only bad point that i can think of.
My friend has the phil &ted's and her hubby ran over it (bub's wasn't in the pram!), anyway while it was getting fixed she borrowed my Mountain buggy. After using it only for a few days she says she wishes that she got the mountain buggy.
The Phil&Ted's has a much lower seat and it's not as easy to adjust the laydown feature while bubs is in it. I do like the idea of the toddler seat,( but my DD is 20 months now, so even if i have another baby soon, i probably wouldn't use it)
No option for a toddler seat (boo hisssssss)
It doesn't have a back support and I find that ds gets a bit hunched over in it. Lately he has been particularly squirmy in there, and I am not sure if its because he's uncomfortable or not.

I agree with Wattle, my 19 month has been a little uncomfortable in it for the past few months (if we go for long walks) as he likes to sit very upright and the mountain buggy back doesnt go straight enough.
Also with the addition of my second son 8 weeks ago, we would have loved to been able to fit a toddler seat.
Otherwise I love the mountain buggy, we have taken it absolutely everywhere (beach, bush walking tracks, sand dunes and squeazy K-Mart aisles), and it still looks like it could be used for another 2 kids.
Great if you only have one kid that needs to be in a pram.

I was due to have a bubba with only twelve months diff btw the two (ended up m/c ing) - but I did do alot of reasearch into poss of attaching a toddler seat to my Mnt Bggy - I spoke with the company about the option of adapting the pram
They were adamant that the reason is all about safety and thus they don't want to add a toddler seat - I can't remember the reasons why etc but it sounds as though they are really thorough about their safety standards and adding a toddler seat adjusts the centre of gravity ???? - they said this is why there is only a small baggage thing underneath etc....
Anyway the only other issue that I have had with mine is flat tyres but I take a spare bike repair kit with me - and I take it on some very very rough terrain!
Jessie - we also had a bad run with flat tyres, i think i a had about 5 in 3 months. DF was becoming an expert in tyre repair. Mine were actual punctures. Anyway, i think i was pumping the tyres up too much. Since then we haven't had any more! They just need pumping up every now and then.
I have an 'outlook' padded insert in my MB. Not a sheepskin, it's cotton and padded. It's great as it covers the bit where DD's feet go, so she doesn't bash her ankles when she gets excited.

I'm due in two weeks, so have not had any experience of actually using the Mountain Buggy we've purchased second hand on a day to day basis. The one thing I have noticed is that with the bassinett attached, you can not collapse the buggy all the way down as you would with the normal seat in. Am I doing something wrong?

I never had the bassinette option, so i can't help you there....hopefully someone else will be able to help you out. Or maybe try their website and see if there is any info on there. Good Luck! :)
You need to remove the bassinette to collapse the pram. You'll get used to doing it pretty quickly, it's only four clips. Just watch your fingers though, I pinched mine in the clips a few times and it hurt!
