With my nausea i have to eat every 30 mins to 1 hour. I can only eat small amounts. I try snacking on fruit and veges and i mix the veges with tazki (sp?) dip to make them taste better. But I find im hungrey 30 mins later and the nausea returns.
Rice crackers, bread and any carb makes me feel better and stays in my tummy for longer but I feel like im eating to many carbs and im owrried I will put on weight:thumbsdown:
Anyone have any ideas for healthy snacks that will keep me full and wont let me pile on weight???

Hi 3kidsmum,

I find that muslei bars give me 1-2 hours, but at over 500kj each it probably won't solve your problem. I figure that as I am eating smaller meals it all sorts itself out and anyway I have been loosing weight not gaining.

Rice crackers aren't that bad though - so if they help I would say eat them, especially the plain ones.

Crunchy apples - made my morning sickness a slight bit better.
Apricot & Coconut balls (found in health food section)
Sultana's - dried fruit/nuts

Oh, forgot - Cup-a-soups - you can get the ones with lots of noodles in etc - they are great.

Thanks for the ideas girls :hugs:
I like the cup a soup idea, may have to try that and also the apricot balls.
Kymmy: I read somewhere (on a pregnancy website I think) that nuts should be avoided as this may cause a nut allergy. I dont know if its true or not but im not willing to risk it.

Thanks again, any more ideas would be appreciated

Do you have a history of nut allergies?
I eat nuts for protein as I am vegetarian. I find it helps with the nausea. I don't think it would cause an allergy but fair enough if you do.

My sister ate peanuts a little bit during both her pregnancies - 1 child has a nut allergy (and egg & dairy) the other has no allergies at all.

So I'm not sure if eating nuts while pregnant can trigger an allergy, but I understand not wanting to risk it.

I think peanuts may be a trigger not nuts in general. Not a huge fan of peanuts.
