Thought ide start our own little thread on baby showers. Who is planning on having a baby shower? We can share any tips or ideas for themes, games, guests.. whatever really.

My cousin is wanting to have a baby shower for me. Think we are going to have it last weekend in May. This will make me about 35/36 weeks pregnant.

we had mine about a month before...dont think i will have something this time until the baby is born...just so everyone can meet him/her.

but as for games i went to one the other day and they had baby bingo....everyone gets a game sheet with all different baby words...then someone yells the words out...then BINGO...you get the gist...it was a really good game

My mum is throwing me another one. She did my first one.
We were thinking about the end of March, but my inlaws are going away then, so we are going to have it in April.
I think i am going to put my foot down and say that my mum can only invite a couple of her friends, otherwise it will be all her friends and none of mine.

I threw my SIL baby shower, so i have a few games to play from that.
Themes could be as obvious as blue or pink, or you can have a real child like theme with cupcakes, party bags and fairy bread, or you could have a sophisticated one with sushi (cooked of course) and mocktails - you know one last day with the girls so to speak.

My sister is throwing me a baby shower towards the end of may cause that's when I finish work. I think it will be similar to the one I did for her last year but with a blue theme this time. We also played a couple of games too.

We had baby bingo and another game where you are blindfolded and have to guess what sort of baby foods you are tasting......it was hiliarious to see some of the peoples faces  I just googled baby shower games and there was heaps to choose from.

For hers I got heaps of pink balloons and made little pink cup cakes and everything was pink.

We had mine at about 35 weeks i think with DS1. Didn't have one with DS2. and don't plan on one this time either.

They are great fun though... am going to one in a few weeks time!

I would suggest later in the pregnancy. Not sure why, just think its nicer to have a decent size bump to show off. Also if you are planning on having the toilet paper game (guess how sheets of toilet paper it takes to go around your tummy) then it makes it more fun.
I would say 30 weeks is a good time. I had mine with DS around that time. You arent too big or too uncomfortable.

I went to a baby shower a couple of weeks ago. They played a fun game where there were pictures of celebrities with their baby photo stuck on their head, and you had to guess who they were. Sounds easier than what it is.... I love baby showers, I love seeing the mum to be open all their pressies. I saw a great present, it was a nappy cake , so cute....

My nextdoor neighbour made me a nappy cake, will post the photo if you like, it was so nice. She went to so much trouble.

Not planning on having a baby shower this time, I had one at 36 weeks pregnant with Lachlan a day after my birthday. On my birthday I swelled up something bad and went into hospital to get my blood pressure checked. Nice pressie huh.

I haven't had a baby shower for any of my boys, but I was thinking it might be nice to have this time seeing as though we're having a little girl!!
I probably won't end up having one though, but the thought of one is nice!!
I've never been to one

We are having a "Welcome to the World" party after the baby is born. I ended up with way too much stuff the baby didn't need at the baby shower for my first son. This works out great for us though because we're renovating & hopefully it'll be finished before the baby comes.

Im having a baby shower on the 31st of May. I will be 33/34 weeks if I make it that far and dont go early, which I dont think I will. Me and my mum are going to organise it together.
