Has anyone sold their wedding dress successfully?
I would really like to sell mine but im not sure of the best way to do it. I know there is ebay but im not sure about using it.
If you have sold yours, how did u do it and did u get a good price for it?

I'm just about to try and sell mine. I finally went and got it from my mum's place yesterday and will probably put it on Ebay and see how I go. I was thinking of trying Monkey's Undies too (the site linked to here) but am unsure about how many people will see it?
I may be biased, but my dress is stunning (a real ball gown type dress), however I am happy for whatever I get for it (it is more than I am getting with it sitting in the wardrobe!). And I don't have a daughter to hand it down to (and it doesn't look like my sister is ever going to get married) so I figure I may as well sell it.
But I have no idea what price to expect either. Also, it may be hard without people seeing it in person (and even trying it on?)
I have a friend who sold hers to a bridal recycle place and she got $800 for hers! (She always seems to land on her feet with that type of thing!)
I actually just started looking for a dress to buy and have seen heaps on ebay. Maybe try there???
I have just started to look for a dress to buy as well and have been looking on ebay as well as a few other bridal sites, if you google "used wedding dresses" or similar you will find them.
I know what I want so if I don't find it I will have to get it made or just have something else, but so far I am enjoying looking.
The best part is looking at the photos, sometimes they put a "designer" photo up and then they put one of their own wedding photos up and its good to see the dress on a real woman, but sometimes it makes me laugh because its like "woah" it looks so different.
I have been watching a few dresses on ebay and none of them have sold because the asking price is too high. Maybe you would be better of at the bridal recycle shop.
Where is this bridal recycle shop anyway? That sounds like my kind of shop!

Yes yes more information on a bridal recycle shop ploise!!! I have a (rather large) plus-sized wedding dress gathering dust in my wardrobe I'd be more than ecstatic to sell!

I only know the places in Melbourne - the one in particular I am referring to is in Sydney Rd, Brunswick (called Cupids). But there is also one in Caulfield as well as a Mariana Hardwick Clearance Store in Brunswick and Fitzroy.
And I should call it pre-loved rather than recycled I guess (so it doesn't sound so much like garbage!)
Oh, and I just found these sites for selling (and buying!) pre-loved wedding dresses:
http://www.easyweddings.com.au/wedding_dresses/default.asp
http://www.brideonline.com.au/gowns/
(am I allowed to put up these url addresses?)
Anyway, just google pre-loved wedding dresses in your area/state/city and see what you find.
