Hi Ladies,

Just needing a bit of help and guidance. Looking for a good Obstetrician in the Brisbane/ north brisbane area. I need to elect to have a C.Section (pelvis too small evidentally - Major dramas with first "natural" birth!). Can anyone recommend anyone? And also can any one help me out with the private/public issue. Is it much easier through the private hospitals regarding choosing a doctor and booking in for the C.Section? (Had first bub in Public)

Anyones experiences would greatly help.

Thanks heaps in advance,

Lisa:)

Hi Lisa
Im not in Brisbane but had a wonderful experience with having my twins c section in a public hospital. I think it really depends on the hospital though. So maybe do some reserch. The hospital I was in had single rooms, which I thought was important. Also check if they will let your partner sleep the night as well as you are not too mobile for a few days.
Good Luck

Hi there

I'm currently seeing Dr Ross Turner at the Wesley. As I had a c-section with my first baby, we had a discussion and I know that he is quite open for me to have either a v-birth or c-section. I've only had one appt with him though, although I have my second one this Thursday, but he seems nice enough.

As for the public vs private, I don't know as I'm English and had Jessica in the UK. After complications with my first pregnancy which resulted in me having the c-section, and which could occur again, we decided to go private this time, I guess to be on the safe side, but I'm still having trouble figuring out the system, but apparently I'm not the only one :)
