If anyone is looking for a brilliant and in-expensive OB-gyn in Perth I can recommend with hesitation...

Dr Marcus Rumpus
St Andrews Medical Practice,
72 The Crescent, Midland.
08 9274 5455

We originally booked in to see him back in January to get assistance with conceiving but were shocked to find out we were pregnant with our second two weeks before we went to see him.

He charges $45 per appointment and you get about $25-$30 back from Medicare.

The best thing is he has his own ultrasound machine so everytime you see him for your monthly check up, you get to see bubby as well :D

He is also rather easy on the eye and has the charisma of Cary Grant/Sean Connery. His bedside manner is beautiful and his sense of humour refreshing. I can't say enough wonderful things about him.

Because I have endured four miscarriages in all and two prior to seeing him, he put me at ease and went to great lengths to make sure I didn't stress including giving me six weeks off work to put my feet up and ensure the first three months went without a hitch.

Wow, any particular reason? I don't know the guy but it seems strange one person has awesome experience and you obviously not...what happened? :detective:

I wouldn't post too much here, but after working at a hospital he delivered at - there is no way I'd go to him either.

There was definitely information that I became privvy to which did not paint him in a very postive light.

Okay - understand if this has to be removed mods - please feel free to do so.

that doesn't tell me anything. I wish someone would give a reason (even via private message) as to why he has a bad rep especially since I've said he was good back in 2005

I was at a forum with him over the weekend and he basically said that women who dont listen to him and his advice are effectivley killing their baby.

this totally discounts the woman's point of view, maybe women actually know how to birth a baby....no that cant be right, we need old men like Dr Rumpus to help us.

he also stated that "every intervention he performed was needed" i highly doubt this claim

again making birth an illness or something that has to be "treated" rather than the mirical and special passage for a woman.

i know certain people need OB's and that's cool, but this sort of 1950's legs in stirrups, knock me out, cut me up attitude is just wrong, and honestly makes me ill
