Im sure Im going grey!
Ok so heres the dilemma.. starting from the beginning might help..
The twins are 9 weeks and 3 days old. Corrected age of 2 weeks.
They are both demand feeding which normally is about 4 hours which is fine..
BUT..
During the night.. from about midnight, Mr K screams.. constantly till morning.
I know its not hunger because he will do it after a feed, I know its not wind because he brings it all up, I know its not any kind of pain or anything because..
As soon as hes picked up.. he STOPS! Its not just a whinge or a grizzle, its a full on cry and Im to my wits end as to what to do. Im not getting ANY sleep.
The peads DR told me to just let him cry as long as he isnt making himself sick.. but I cant leave him cry ALL NIGHT..
ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Signed
One VERY TIRED woman.
im not sure hun, my kids did that so I co-slept

It might be asilent reflux and as soon as he lies down of a night with a nice full tum the acid from his stomach is coming back up into his throat and causing him pain. Maybe try propping him up a bit to sleep. All the best hun. You are doing an amazing job.
Even though the wind (you may think;)) is brought up.... it can get trapped in the bowel... Colic could be your issue hun....Very uncomfy..... It sounds as though 'reflux' could be the issue....
How long after a feed is bub's having this issue?... is it only at night or during the day also?
Hi there, have a look at this link:
http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=150755
It provides gentle sleep help. This is what I use for my DS and have done since he was the age of the twinnies.
Does Mr K cry every time he is put down flat - even during the day? If so, could be reflux or ear ache. If he is only doing it at a particular tinme of day (midnight to 5am) he may just be having trouble self settling for night time sleeps.
I can commend the method outlined in te link provided. It absolutely does work, provided there are no other reasons for the crying like reflux, ear ache, wind, etc. But it takes persistence and confidence.
Good luck :hugs::hugs:

thanks for the speedy replies girls!
He only does it at night. He loves laying flat during the day wiggling about.. infact he HATES being sat up..
if it was reflux, would he be doing it during the day aswell?
Amy,
Gabriel was doing this too around the same age.
I found I just had to walk around the house with him.... VERY tiring!
Do you have an electric swing???? Coz being upright in that might enable him to sleep a bit more comfortably. And then you could crash on the couch.. that's what we do with Gabs.
It's hard with twins.
PS: you say they are demand feeding... do you feed them at the same time? or not? I found it made the future sooooo much easier to feed them at the same time, and put them down to sleep at the same time.
just remember... any questions/advice,... I'm only a PM away.:hugs:
and maybe get some 'Brauer's Calm.. or some Infants Friend
As is my understanding, but I am no reflux expert. Sounds more like self settling issues, which are very common with such a small bub.
Does he like to be wrapped? This might help him settle.

the electric swing sounds like a good idea. Ive also noticed the baby mobile soothes him, but it only goes for about 5 minutes and needs to be restarted.. which gets tiring after about an hour of doing it.. lol.. Can I get a swing that plays music?
They feed at different times. No matter how hard I try, they wont feed at the same time . Mr N is sleeping 6-8 hours of a night so Im very happy with that.. just wish K would.. lol
Does that Brauers Calm stuff work? Ive seen it in the chemist, but never tried it..

Hes definately a male.. one minute he likes being wrapped.. the next he screams till hes unwrapped.. I try and let him wiggle and worm during the day when hes awake, and keep him wrapped at night.
Believe it or not, hes actually been asleep since his 8pm feed.. so fingers crossed he STAYS asleep !!!! :fingerscrossed:

Hi Amy,
Have you tried giving Mr K a gentle tummy massage. This always helped with Benji. You could also try using a bouncer, the angle and the gentle bouncing sent my bub to sleep every time.
Hope you get some much needed rest ASAP.
