Hi Mel,
I am 7wks today, and although I've had nausea on & off for a few weeks, I had a really bad day on Tuesday (6wks 4 days) and went home early from work as I wasn't physically sick, but really close a few times. I must admit I have been lucky to not go all the way yet.
I find I feel queezy when I am laying down about to go to sleep, and when I am just waking up, then I am fine for a few hours, and then it's back in the afternoon/evening...
My first pregnancy, so not sure how it will go!!

Hi Mel,
I'm 8 wks pregnant and am suffering from all day pregnancy sickness. I'm constantly feeling queasy however not enough to vomit (I sometimes think that I would prefer to as it might give me some relief). Some days seem alot worse than others. I hardly suffered at all with my first pregnancy so this has taken me by surprise. Anyway I take it as a good sign that the pregnancy is progressing. Good luck and I hope it doesn't last past that 12 wk mark.
Annette. :barf:

Hi Annette,
Yeah i have been sick all day and all night for the last week pretty hard trying to cover up being sick at work as they dont know yet!!! So ive started trying the ginger beer might go to the chemist i thought i saw some morning sickness herbal tablets... might give it a try, especially since it looks like it will be around for a while :(. Hope you start feeling better soon and that it doesnt last over the 12 wk mark for you either!

I hope it doesn't last past 12 wks either but somehow I think it might. I went to the chemist and bought some sea-bands and a bottle of ginger and B6 morning sickness tablets but nothing seems to work. I guess the good thing is that now that the pregnancy is nearly 9 weeks the morning sickness is as bad as it's going to get, still sucks though. I'm not working at the moment as I'm home with a 2 year old which can be difficult at times but I certainly don't envy trying to work in a professional environment while suffering through the waves of nausea.

i have found that if i constantly eat (i know all i can think of is the KG adding on) then im fine, i ended up telling work only because i got to the point where i was running out of the room every 10 minutes to visit my mate the loo  but for the last 2 days i have just being eating every half an hour and havent been sick. Only when i first wake up and have a shower (i just cant eat 1st thing in the morning have to be at least half an hour after i wake up)
so looks like i will be stocking up on LOTS of healthy snacks!!!Good luck Annette hope you find something that works for you, but just think one less day of ms... thats what i say to myself every night before i go to bed

a friend of mine recommend that like you I eat every half hour. nuts or a dry biscuit. So far :fingerscrossed: its worked.
I have noticed that I can't eat a normal size meal though.

Hello all,
I am 5 wks and 2 days and no sign of ms ATM. I am expecting it though, I had severe ms with dehydration and a few hospital visits with DS - and it lasted till around wk 18, not looking forward to that! I also had a pregnancy in Dec 06 (ended in miscarriage ) but I was really sick then as well. I am grateful that I'm not sick ATM, but also frightened that because I'm not sick that something is going wrong - gosh I can't be pleased, can I?!?! I hope I get signs of pregnancy soon, at the moment I just feel really tired and have the occasional pain in my lower abdomen, which scares me. I will keep you posted and let you know when it starts...
Happyhips, I know this really isn't what you want to hear, but when I have m/s and I actually :barf: it brings no relief, I think because it isn't the things in your stomach that is making you ill, rather the stuff in your blood, if that makes sense?? So in my case it's better to just hold off as long as I can (yeah right, as if I have control over it ).
Last time I tried to eat normal meals that my wonderful DH cooked, but I think this time I will just stick to the dry crackers and ice so my throat doesn't get so sore (eewww, TMI...)
Gosh secretsquirrel, ms started early for you, here's hoping you finish early as well. :fingerscrossed:
but just think one less day of ms... thats what i say to myself every night before i go to bed
Great strategy Mum2ethan, that's what I said to myself as well!

thanks Kadwil but i'm in the same boat as you i hate being sick but it's kind of nice because it helps me feel less paranoid. I'm terrified as i'm sure we all are about loosing the baby.

It's true that having ms makes you feel less paranoid. Still is hard though, I didn't think it could get worse at this stage but has progressed to vomiting - not to worry! :)
