I found some Lamb Shank Slow cooker recipes for you...
1 (http://www.abc.net.au/newcastle/stories/s1668146.htm)
2 (http://www.inmamaskitchen.com/RECIPES/RECIPES/meats/lamb_shanks_basque.html)

4 (http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/1116/slow+cooked+lamb+shanks)
I have only ever cooked them in the oven, in a roasting pan, just less then moderate oven temp, covered with foil for about 3 - 4hrs...seasoned as per taste. the meat just falls off the bone...
Hope your DH pulls out all the stops and gives you a delicious meal and gorgeous evening.

Salt and pepper, one onion, garlic to taste, half a lemon squeezed and a jar of napolitiana sauce
After its cooked i blend the sauce mix up makes a yummy gravy. I use the same method with a roast lamb in the over with a little water and it is soo yummy! I have done shanks in the oven the same way too i just boil them for 10 mins first to get rid of the fat on them
I cant eat roast lamb any other way now Oh usually with shanks i serve it with some mash or rice whatever the kids feel like :)

p.s i think the slow cooker is a great idea..because you cant go wrong..and PB's sugestion of mash is a great idea..a little something different throw in a whole garlic clove when boiling spuds..then mash as normal..gives a lovely suttle garlic mash..yummo!

:yelclap:This is great !! Thank you all so much. I shall give it to him in the morning and he can choose. They all sound so yummy! Really lovely in the winter too when my SC gets used alot.
The food can sit in the SC and we won`t have to worry while we have a drink or 4:D
