Pea n Ham soup!?

I need an easy Pea n Ham soup recipe...One without actual Pea's in it ( hubby dont like pea's) But love's the soup...

Buy green or yellow split peas (dried) in the supermarket and a hambone/ham hock.

Bring it home, put the packet of peas in a BIG pot with a chopped up onion, and two chopped carrots, the ham hock and enough water to cover everything.

Boil, and boil (adding boiling water where necessary) until meat falls off the bone and the peas dissolve into the soup. It should be thick but not porridgy.

Pull out the bone and shred the meat. Blitz the soup with a kitchen whiz or blender and add the meat back.

Serve with a dollop of cream/sour cream.

mines pretty much the same but i add a couple of potatoes.. and some barley .the kids love the barley in it .. and makes it more of a meal :)
