Would like to chat? If I am not the only one. (Because that may prove dull)

Now Kimmy, I have no doubt that your conversation is VERY stimulating, even if it is with yourself. As my mum says: talking to yourself is the only way to get the answers you want!
I am from NEVictoria - Wodonga. Originally Lillydale in Melb (til I was 2), then moved to Yarrawonga-Mulwala (VIC/NSW border), then to Wangaratta, then to Wodonga-Albury (VIC/NSW Border).
Have been in this area all my life, love it, and am proud to be a mexican! (that's what you're called on the border if you are a viccy - down south!)
I am more than happy to join in any chats, but no guarantees I can make it any less dull!

I used to live in Wang. Went to high school there.
Now I live in North West Melbourne.
I was born in Perth though.

Hi Cateap - welcome to bubhub!

I don't think this thread is going to take off, but come and join us in the July chat thread. It may seem intimidating but we welcome newbies with open arms.

Hope to see you there! :)

I'd love to join in & chat, you all seem to be on the other side of town from me, we used to live in Narre Warren & saw an opportunity for growth and have now moved to Frankston.

Oh goodie another thread to join. Some of you already know me but  to everyone. I'm in Shepparton so I'm 2hrs away from all of you...even Cass is 2hrs drive from me!
Im a melb mummy due sept! im from Melton :)I'm originally from Melton (South to be exact). I grew up there, moved to the city on my own at 16yo then moved back to Melton when I was 22yo. The only reason I'm not there these days is that I met the love of my life and he happened to live in Shepp....so after 12 months I moved up here for a fresh start and it was the best thing I ever did.

Who is going to do their d&mnedest to make sure this thread stays alive?

kymmy
10-07-2008, 04:32 PM
Yeah give the thread a chance!

I used to live in Wang. Hubby would like to live there but not sure about work.

I'm a Melbourne girl born & bred. I live (and have always lived) in the nth west suburbs (near the airport).

 Hi All!

I "know" some of you from other threads, but for those I don't...HELLO!! :)

I grew up on the Peninsula (Mt Eliza) and my parents still live in Mornington, and the in-laws live in Dromana....but we're now based in Sunbury (bout 20 mins from the airport - where are you, KatieLou !?

I'm happy to keep this thread alive.....so now that we know roughly where everyone is, what happens next?! Anyone else feeling really BIG at the moment!? I didn't realise my belly could stretch so far!!

Talk soon,
Kayls

Hi Kayls. I grew up in East Keilor & Keilor and now live in Oak Park. It's a small world isn't it?

Yes my belly is feeling big and it keeps on feeling really tight like I'm about to pop again! Or maybe that was the Maccas I just had for lunch. I swear I have eaten more Maccas in the last 7 months than I have in the last 5 years!

Hi Kayls,

Sunbury isn't far from where I grew up in Melton.

My belly seems to have had a growth spurt and the skin is still trying to catch up.....feels like it's going to burst any minute. It's not as bad (tight) as it was yesterday but it still feels strange. I don't recall this happening with the others.....oh well just something new to whinge about, I guess.

kymmy

My belly hasn't stretched to its limits yet! But then this is my forth and I expect to feel huge in the last month.

Your forth too huh Judy?

Yep Kymmy. Baby Oops is lucky to be making it into this world cos I had no intention of having anymore kids after DD. So much for my good track record of 'no accidents' huh?

A stretched tummy had better not be a sign of a big baby or I'm in trouble. My body is NOT designed to push out big bubs...I've had enough trouble with little ones, thanks. Hey, I wonder if they can do a weight estimate when I have my 4D scan next week?

kymmy
12-07-2008, 11:09 AM
I think this may be my smallest baby. I felt so much bigger and heavier with the others.
I don't think I have put on much weight this time.

CCsSurprise
12-07-2008, 11:28 AM
Kymmy how big were your other bubs? Mine were 5lb 15o, 6lb 7o & 6lb 4o. Everyone tells me that my babies are tiny but I see them as normal....for me anyway.

kymmy
12-07-2008, 11:33 AM
My first and third were 8'4 and my biggest almost 9 pounds. Big head....
So very healthy yet not as big as others. My brother and a few cousins were all around 10-12 pound.

CCsSurprise
12-07-2008, 11:42 AM
OK so your bubs were all sort of 'average' sizes, Kymmy. So why do I go  when I think of someone birthing a bub of that weight?

The closer it gets to the day, the more I think about it. I am definitely going to ask the sonographer to give me a weight estimate next week....maybe that will stop me having nightmares. lol

CJay
14-07-2008, 09:25 AM
My last bub was 6.7, 3 weeks early so we are expecting a larger one this time, how large scares me.

I was 10.3 my sisters were 8.12 & 9.6 & I'm measuring well ahead for my dates. I have a growth scan in a few weeks but I don't think my nightmares will stop after that :D

KatieLou
14-07-2008, 10:05 AM
At my last OB appt I was measuring 2 weeks ahead. I'll find out today if that's still the case. I feel huge! I'm worried b/c my sister had 10 & 11lb babies and I had just always thought it was b/c her husband was tall, now I'm worried our genes are in there as well. My other sister had much more preferable sizes (around the 7lb mark I think), which is more what I am expecting as it's the same gene pool as our baby (My husband is my sisters husbands brother - 2 brothers married 2 sisters- yes, we're freaks...), so I am hoping for the sizes she had and the short labours like she had too :fingerscrossed:

CCsSurprise

I had just always thought it was b/c her husband was tallI'm not sure if daddy's height plays a factor in weight. DP is just over 6'2" and Jasmine was only 6lb4oz born at 38 weeks. My sister and brothers kids were all well over 7.5lb (5 kids in total) so maybe it's just what your body can handle/grow? Dunno really...I'm just guessing like everyone else is.

KatieLou
14-07-2008, 11:11 AM
Oh dear, and here I though I was ok because dh isn't tall! He has broad shoulders though which my sister advised against after her 1st :D Oh well, I guess time will tell. It has to get out so I guess there isn't any point worrying about it for now...

kymmy
14-07-2008, 04:19 PM
My husband and I are both tall. Hubby was tiny at birth though. May have saved me from bigger babies? :detective: Big heads run on my side of the family (nodules and all  )

Hi Kymmy

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm doing ok  Just feel BIG, and TIGHT and TIRED and I think Bubs has really dropped into my pelvis over the past day or two. I have been to the Ladies 5 times today between arriving at work (8.30am) and midday.....*sigh* and I have this odd 'tingling' feeling in my pelvis....

He/She is still amazingly active though - although there are definitely long periods of sleep.......but when he/she is awake, man, it's a circus in there!! I know there's bugger all room left, but clearly Little One intends on renovating to make more room

Tee hee! How about you ? Been coping with the cold/rainy snap we've been having?!?! BRRRR!!!

Cheers
Kayls

"No circus here just lots of BH and a sore lower back. Anyone wanna swap? "

Hi Judy ,

I haven't had much in the way of BH's, but can definitely sympathise with the back pain. Not fun at all. It hurts from sitting for a while, hurts from standing for a while, and if I've been in bed too long, it hurts then too - so no relief!

Cant say as you'd want the circus if you don't have it....it gets bl##dy uncomfortable after a while....and I think Bubs is uncomfortable too - lots of squirming and wriggling, poor thing!

Well I wont poop my own party! :p

Hope it settles for you. Anything help relieve it? Baths? I get mild back pain and a bath is a dream.

Kymmy when it's really bad a long hot shower seems to do the trick. I found that out the other day when I couldn't cope with the pain. I'm slowly getting used to it though.

How is everyone else doing today?

How is everyone else doing today?

I'm tired  ....and desperately trying to ward off the evil sickness that's overtaking everyone around me! DH is totally full up with it - can't stop coughing/sneezing....sore throat, overall YUCK feeling and up all night coughing...not fun  I went to my classes on Tuesday night and three out of the nine mums-to-be were sick too.....then of course, there's people at work who refuse to be sick at home, they have to be here sharing it with everyone!!! :hissy: NOT FAIR!

This morning I've woken up with a niggly sore throat and a bit of a cough....gee I hope it doesn't go any further than that.... *sigh*

Apart from my big whinge above though, everything else is fine. Had a checkup after my class the other night....I'm still measuring a couple of weeks ahead....one middie nearly had a heart attack when she got 38 weeks and had to get someone else in to check! Bubs was NOT happy with all the poking and prodding around, and took a while to settle enough for them to be happy the heartbeat was normal (it was very high after all the poking!).

That's pretty much me....how's everyone else doing??

Cheers
Kayls

Hi everyone, I am new here. I just found this site. How great is it??!!

I have been living in Brazil this year with my Brazilian partner and am now back in my home town of Melbourne to have my 1st baby. Very exciting. Though my partner arrives in 2 weeks and I am due in 4!! fingers crossed bubs doenst come early.

I would love to get to know other mums due around the same time. It's great to be able to talk about how we are all feeling and what's going on.

Do any of you have facebook? That's a great way to keep in touch and with photos too.
