One of my very good GFs has very severe crohn's and she got pregnant first try. She took her meds throughout pregnancy and had absolutely no complications with the pregnancy whatsoever. Her little boy is now 8 months old and divine.

Not sure I can be of any help, but I have a good friend who just recently got pg with her 1st, and she has Crohns. They kept her on her meds as they said it would be worse for both her and the bub if she went off of them, but seem to be ok with her on them. Shes in the 2nd trimester, so cant comment on the outcome, but so far all looks great! Good luck! :)

I don't know the answer but this really is a question for the Doctors. There are so many meds out there and they all hold different risks. Another place to get some info is to look up the drug on google and access the drug information booklet.
All the best.

i've talked to my gastroenterologist and he took me off my meds bout five months ago as they can cause defects he said pregnancy can make crohns worse so its good to know some mums have had good pregnancies i was on Mercaptopurine and prednisone but both are out of my system now.

Sounds like you should be ok. The meds would probably not effect your eggs or ovulation and as far as I know Crohns doesn't effect that either. The meds would have been an issues through the development and they are all out of your system now.
Good luck.
