Okay. I have been :ecomcity: about my weight gain but more to the point a couple of weeks ago my weight went up roughly 2kgs in 1 wk. This past week I have lost roughly 2kgs. So in the space of 3 weeks I've done a yo-yo... 3 weeks and 4kgs isn't bad but it's more like 2kgs up and then maintain then 2kg drop. It's a little strange to me!

Last night I was in bed and all of a sudden my stomach was really, really hard. I wasn't concerned about this... it didn't hurt just felt weird - stayed like this for a few hours though - but (TMI) I started cramping across my pubic line (under baby belly) as well as flatulence ooooooohhhhhh my goodness!!! It's been :barf: worthy! DH came home from work and sprayed the room with Glen 20! Sorry for TMI!

So I'm thinking maybe I have some sort of virus-y thing but am not sure. Don't want to bug anyone @ hosp on a Sunday unnecessarily but I'm stressing a little. Felt baby moving last night but am not sure what I'm feeling today as to whether it's wind or baby! Still have the embarrassing sound effects lol but cramping has gone right down.

I haven't experienced anything like this in previous months so I was hoping someone could give me some advice on what ya'll think and whether I should ring hospital whether for peace of mind or just leave it. I guess I am of the impression that I don't really feel sick but my sound effects are still telling me something is not happy.

Stomach is back to normal feel (not hard). Last night I was really concerned and this morning - I just don't want to be a pain!

The "hard stomach" thing sounds like Braxton Hicks contractions. And maybe you ate something that gave you a little gas (or a lot of gas!:p) and when your uterus was practicing, it kinda "forced" the gas out?? LOL please don't take my word for gospel, but if it was me, that's what I'd assume it was. Sometimes certain foods will cause different kinds of reactions when you're pregnant as opposed to when you're not. EG cabbage might do nothing to you before pregnancy, but when you're pregnant it might cause lots of gas.

Re: the weight gain thingo - do you watch the Biggest Loser? Just because, one duo did this thing last week where they guzzled heaps of water before the weigh-in, to push their weight up (they had immunity) so then next week their weight loss numbers would be very big. So fluctuating weight is not necessarily a sign of something wrong, maybe just different foods/drinks you'd had on the day of the weighing.

Hope you feel better soon though! Going to a doctor or hospital may well put your mind at ease, if you're still concerned about everything.

:D

Thanks for responding!

Baby's fine - Mummy has a suspected viral thingy but will talk to Dr about at next appt (next week). Avoid dairy and keep fluids up and rest.

Funnily enough given all HELP  I've been getting from both sets of parents the nurse thinks I'm stressed.

Can't think why I'd be stressed....

Lol :) Sarcasm drips.

I am just glad baby is okay... that's all that I was worried about!

Hi SweatDreams,

the "hard stomache" thingy definately sounds like a braxton hicks to me - that happened all the time for me from 25 weeks onwards. Doesn't hurt, but your stomache sort of draws upwards, goes all hard for a couple of seconds, then relaxes? Braxton hicks - get used to it - your uterus is just practicing for the BIG DAY!! LOL:D

Try to relax - if the baby's moving, and you feel okay - then don't worry too much. And don't worry about "bugging" people at the hospital on a sunday - that's what they're there for, and they're probably all bored because its a sunday,a nd nodoby wants to bug them!! Seriously, if you're stressed about pg symptoms, asking the midwives is the best way to reassure yourself - and believe me, there's no such thing as a dumb question, or one they haven't heard before!

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!:)
