I am so excited about moving in the next coulpe of weeks.. And im going to ditch the old lounge and get a new one.. although i havent decided on a colour yet... or fabric, i suppose leather would be better with the little kids, cause you can just wipe off any marks... and scotchguarding,, is it expensive?
As for chosing the colour... i should take into consideration the carpet, and curtains etc.. oh and walls
Do you all have your home colour co-ordinated:confused: Just curious.. needing some decorating ideas

Hi Jem, we have a Navy Micro-suade lounge... We had ours scotchguarded. I cant remember how much extra it was but well worth it. I cant tell you the amout of spills we've had on it & it just wipes straight off!! :yelclap:

I agree micro suede is the best as long as it is scotch guarded. Leather is great but exy. Leather goes all cracky over time if not oiled properly and also picks up dirt, newspaper ink, etc etc very easily. Very high maintenence, not the best with little kids. We have a corner lounge and this seemed like a good idea at the time but now that we move so much and don't have a choice what house we get, it is hard to get a modular to fit in most lounge rooms.:banghead:

Purple, like Cadbury's chocolate purple :p Joking. My DH persuaded me to paint our kitchen that colour once :barf:

Our couch is a dark raspberry colour. Rug is dark blue. We move a lot and rental houses tend to have drab yellow/beige walls so we went for colour rather than neutral.

When we moved and decided too to get a new lounge we were able to bring home the "swatches" Think that's what it is called. Then we just held it up against the different furnishings and chose whatever colour "matched".

We had decided on a colour but when we did this extra step the colour we had chosing originally looked disgusting and we chose another colour that looked perfect that we would never have thought of.

I'd also suggest doing this with carpet pieces too if you were ever putting in new carpet.

It's amazing how things look different when they are put against something.

Again PM me if you want me to explain anything else etc.
